  1. And I must mention that I love Denim and Leather! '81 and that record introduced me to Saxon. Great, great stuff.
  2. Yeah I like all of them, and it is very close between Loverboy, Night Ranger and HMS --- but The Big Prize is just incredible. Have to go with Honeymoon Suite on that one (even if 'New Girl Now' may be their best song, that debut isn't as consistently great as this second one).
  3. Winds of Change did cross my mind, but I figured it might fit better in a different poll. I agree that it marked the end of their greatness - I was disappointed with that whole album. Not even in the same league as "Lovedrive", "Animal Magnetism", "Blackout" or "Love at First Sting". Come to think of it, those are really the only Scorpions albums one needs.
  4. Ah, yes, those wonderful AOR records from a better day in rock radio. Which artist hit it out of the park on their SECOND try?
  5. Dammmnnn...what a list. Very hard decision between the BEST Def Leppard record, Mob Rules, Y&T....but I had to go with RIOT. "Outlaw" got me hooked with that insane opening riff. Then Swords and Tequila....just a monster slab of a rock record, in great company on that list.
  6. Fair enough...good to know where folks are coming from. FatFreddy, I hear you on the Crue. I stuck it out a bit longer, until Dr. Feelgood. I liked that song, and Kickstart my Heart, and ....HATED the rest of that record. They would not redeem themselves until briefly with the Corabi record, possibly their best behind Shout At The Devil. 'Amazing' by Aerosmith. I hate that one even more than 'Crazy', but I forgot about it!!
  7. I realize for some of you this list would make a 'great compilation!'...but for me, it is a list of utter disgrace. I hope to never hear any of these songs again for as long as I live. If you agree, won't you let us see who shot themselves in the foot the worst?
  8. I had to think on that one, but I went with 'Metal Heart' because I listen to tunes from that one the most. Almost went with Objection Overruled, as that one is severely overlooked. ('Donation', 'Objection Overruled', 'Bulletproof', 'Sick Dirty & Mean', 'All or Nothing', 'Anamos La Vida', 'Pomp and Circumstance'...truly a classic!) Also love Restless&Wild, Russian Roullete, Staying a Life and of course...Balls to the Wall. I do enjoy 'Death Row' and a few songs from "Predator" as well at times. It upsets me I never got to see this band live (although I did buy their dvd "Metal Blast from the Past", so I can at least see how it was!) Could care less about anything with Reece, but I do like the newer albums in the past five years.
  9. Since I can still stand to hear about 3 of their songs once every few years, I'll save my rant and just say this: The best thing Bon Jovi ever did (besides record the song "In and Out of Love"), was help get CINDERELLA signed.
  10. Not sure what to say about this....I have always liked Krokus, They have put out sub-par efforts though, and while I liked "Rock the Block" at first, it is actually kind of generic when you remember they put out discs like "Headhunter" and "One Vice at a Time", or even "The Blitz". So I have kind of stopped picking up their stuff. I still like them though, ---and I am sure I would like this record better than anything Def Leppard has put out in 20 years. (Kind of enjoy that 70's Ac/Dc jangling guitar sound on this...I will listen to more and see if it's better...)
  11. If you are a hard rock fan, then "dirt" is pretty much essential. So is the debut. AIC may not be 'happy' but they do know how to rock. I've been slow to buy the post-Staley album but i am going to, and prolly this new one too.
  12. I'm pleasantly surprised with that new record, it rocks pretty hard! sounds like a great show.
  13. Warlock put out some mighty fine metal - "Earthshaker Rock"!
  14. I'll be renting it on Netflix once it's available. Wife and I very much enjoyed season 1 and also season 2. Whitfield was fantastic, and is a huge loss. But the new guy is doing alright, and the rest of the cast and production are still great. Looking forward to it!
  15. Last night was last chance at the M.O.R. drink deals. We got the 72 ticket one. If you missed out, you could still call the cruise line and get one of theirs. ...so, are we happy it ain't CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES?! sorry, had to be done....
  16. Got 'Ready To Go' and it is a very good album. I recommend fans pick it up! It's got some rockers, midtempo tunes and a ballad or two. A very fine addition to anyone's Bang Tango collection. that said.... "Love After Death' is more aggressive, and still my favorite.
  17. I believe there were two locations last year: top deck next to the pool, and in a lounge on one of the other decks--obviously. Cash is king, always, but I assume they'll take cards this time. If I recall correctly, shirts were $30. Thanks! Now, I did some research on the very important aspect of drinking. Here is the deal: Cruise line: www.msccruisesusa.com onboard services beverage packages *I called. It's $57 per person, per day. The catch is this: every member of the cabin must purchase the plan. It is "all or nothing". So for 2 people, that is $456 for 4 days. For comparison's sake, the M.O.R. plan for two people --which caps out at 72 drink tickets--is $284 EACH for 4 days. (total $568 if you buy two plans, which is not required) Keep in mind that with M.O.R., we do already get non-carbonated drinks such as water, coffee, juice covered. So there really is no need to "re-pay" for that. Put another way, if you get the M.O.R. plans you are truly just buying 'alcoholic' drink tickets, more or less. Personally, we are leaning toward buying one package--the top tier M.O.R. one, which is 72 tickets, or 18 drinks between 2 people for four days. (she doesnt drink much!) Hope this helps Cheers!
  18. Ok, next question: what about band t-shirts? I would think they will have their own tables out at times? Would these be cash transactions, and are the prices high, like at concerts? I've liked several of these bands for a very long time, and might want to buy a shirt or two.
  19. Contact the cruise line directly.. You can get a much better deal. All right, I will try that. Thanks! It's coming up soon. Can't wait.
  20. So far, I have to say of the band "duplicates" we are seeing (Faster Pussycat, Great White, Queensyrche, L.A. Guns...) I find myself only interested in the version with the original lead singer. L.A. Guns in particular has been making stellar rock without Tracii.
  21. Ok so uh....what are you folks doing regarding alcohol? Just got the M.O.R. 'drink package' emails...I think someone said earlier to contact the cruise line directly for a better deal? Is there a big difference?
  22. I agree. I thought after the opening tracks it got much better agree Wow. 'April 2031' is one of my all-time favourite songs, and 'Andy Warhol Was Right' is in my top 5 off the CD. And to top it off, the first 2 are killer hard rockers in my book. But wow, fillers? Crazy people on board here. To each his own but no way in hell those are fillers. All 4 are awesome songs. I concur! That album had Jani at his creative peak. I saw a post somewhere by Jani where he talks about writing that album after he heard 'Nevermind'. Might be his old site? Not sure, but anyway he was extremely proud of that album. They all were. I feel lucky to have seen that tour in a small club.
  23. Enjoy. I have been listening to it again this week, just can't seem to take it out of rotation. I would have to say that this is one I would need on a deserted island ---thus, it is in my top ten of all time. It is a good album, but "Ready To Go" is still my favorite Bang Tango album. Wow - ok, looks like I need to pick up 'Ready to Go" as well Hadn't heard much about that one either, but if you like it better than L.O.D...I will certainly buy it and check it out Thanks
  24. Wow, can't believe I missed the HARDLINE disc and FASTER PUSSYCAT. I have been listening to tunes from 'Whipped" this week, too! Must agree with Geoff about Dog Eat Dog. Absolutely stellar, to me it is indeed their best, hands-down. RIP, Jani...wish you and fellow rocker Henrik O. could be on the M.O.R. cruise.
  25. I was just thinking about the great rock n roll releases that got killed by the onslaught of grunge, most infamously tied to 1992. Here is my list, in no particular order...share yours! Cinderella - Still Climbing Steelheart - Tangled in Reins Warrant - Dog Eat Dog Electric Boys - Groovus Maximus Wildside - Under the Influence Great White - Psycho City Saigon Kick - Water Kings X - Dogman Tesla - Bust a Nut surely I am missing several...!
