  3. Well Michael has his own recording studio located in Mesa, Arizona. I would assume he would do all the remastering there, but I'm really not sure. We haven't discussed that part of the process yet.
  4. OK...so I posted a week or so ago about a 'Manila Thrills' cassette selling on Ebay for $44.51. Anyways, it was my friend who found the cassette, and sold it on Ebay. I'd never heard of these guys before, but loved the music they offered. Right in the MHR/AOR genre we all love and adore. I had to find out about these guys. Was this album ever put on CD? How many copies were made?...etc. I e-mailed the studio that produced the album, and though I've never heard back from them I believe they forwarded my e-mail to Michael Beck (the singer for Manila Thrills). He and I have been e-mailing back and forth for about 5 days now. There were only 1000 cassettes made of this album, and it was never put on CD. What a rarity!!! Michael is very interested in having Manila Thrills re-released on CD. This makes me very excited, as I know this music would be appreciated by those of us that still appreciate the style of music that Manila Thrills has to offer. I will keep everyone posted in this thread about how things are progressing for Michael in his quest to get this excellent album reissued on CD format. So....you are probably wondering two things by now: 1. If this music is MHR/AOR, why the hell is this in the Heavy Metal forum?, and 2. Who the hell is Scary Hairy? Scary Hairy is the band Michael was in right after Manila Thrills. Their CD 'Intent To Deliver' was originally done for ATCO records in the early 90's. It has recently been reissued through Karma Records Group in Europe, and Night Records here in the states. They are a blend of progressive, melodic metal. Thankfully Karma Records was nice enough to have several MP3's on their site. I wanted to place this in the Heavy Metal forum so people could check out Scary Hairy. I really like the song 'Show, Place or Win'. I also wanted people to be able to check out Michael's incredible vocals. Picture the same soaring vocals on an excellent MHR/AOR release, and you have Manila Thrills. Check Out Scary Hairy Here Check Out Michaels Website Here Thanks for listening. Watch this thread for further Manila Thrills updates. Please let me know what you think about Scary Hairy. Thanks again, M.
  5. Rock Boulevard - S/T track 5 - I Got What You Want Kickin' my ass!!!!!!!! GREAT song!!!!!
  6. You can read my review on the Retrospect products I received in the 'Retrospect' thread found in this forum.

  8. ***My Retrospect Review*** Well ladies and gentlemen I got my CD's from Sam. They actually came in yesterday. I decided I'm not going to give my opinion on these CD's, as opinions are like...well you know the rest. I'm going to answer some FAQ's, and leave my opinions to myself. I DON'T want someone to order anything based on my opinion and be disappointed in what they get. I don't want to be responsible for that. **Note: I have never heard nor seen an original of either of these CD's. I don't know how the sound quality is on the originals, or how the inside artwork looks. Therefore I cannot make a comparison on the originals and the reissues I received. My review is ONLY on the products I received, NOT a comparison.** Here's how my experience went: Shipping?: Lightning Fast (ordered Friday...received Tuesday) Silver Pressed Cd's?: No Decent Artwork?: Yes. Well reproduced artwork. High quality paper. CD Artwork?: No. A standard white CD cover (heatsealed). The only difference between the two was the band names, and CD title. Everything else was the same. Inside Booklet?: *Friction, no. (just cover artwork on one side, band and label info, and thank you's on the back). Looks authentic and complete. *Rock Boulevard, yes. Nice booklet with band and label info, song titles, lyrics, and thank you's. Looks authentic and complete. Lyrics Included?: Friction, no. Rock Boulevard, yes. Sound Quality?: Both sound excellent. Rock Boulevard takes the cake here though to be honest. VERY high quality sound. Friction sounds great too though. Just not as 'clean'. That is all I can think of for now. Please feel free to ask questions. Hope this helped. M.
  9. I don't think so. I just talked to my friend, and one of the original band members was watching the auction. He e-mailed my friend. I got his e-mail address. This might just be the start of something. Not sure where they got the name from. When I find out I'll post it here.
  10. The album is still listed in their catalog here
  11. Sorry Jim. I was sending Tom an e-mail. PM me your address again please so I can put it in my address book. As soon as I here something I'll let you know. *fingers crossed*
  12. Me too Jim. My friend is the one selling the cassette. He found it at the Good Will store in North Platte, NE. It mentions North Platte in the cassette sleeve. I live about 30 miles from there. Produded by Tom Tatman at Catamount Studios. I'm going to send Tom an e-mail to see if it was ever put on CD. We are going to 'dub' the tape tomorrow. If you want a copy let me know. I've never heard of them before, and neither has my friend. They are pretty damn good though. Time to solve a mystery Scooby...I'm on it. Tom Tatman can be reached Here
  13. Well the cassette just sold for $44.51. Guess who bought it? Vegascds. Soon you'll see it on CD being sold by him, or on Retrospect Records. Mark my words.
  14. Anyone heard of this band before? The cassette sure is going for good money. Ebay auction link Here
  15. Uncle Edna - S/T - 03 - Freeze *5 track EP with Tommy Paris on vocals*
  16. I also ordered 2 CD's from their website. Should be in this week. I will give each of the 2 CD's a review when I receive them.
  17. FM - Indiscreet/Tough It Out (remastered reissue)
  18. Shout - S/T Great rockin' CD. This one will be in the player awhile.
  19. Hot Boy - Barely Legal (NEVER thought I'd be saying that!!) Not a bad CD at all.
  20. I sure wouldn't resend. Count the $15 as a loss and move on. I'd hate to see you get ripped off. Now, on the other hand, if you do get the bootlegs in the mail then I would definetly resend. Wait a few more days to see if you get the bootlegs he supposedly mailed. If you don't....well, you know the rest.
