  1. It sure didn't take long before the heat was placed on Cutler. I thought he was supposed to be the next Elway? You would think the Broncos would have given him more time than that before thoughts of trading him started to come up.

He;s closer to Elway than Jake the Fake is..

  2. I'm not afraid to stir up a debate, & obviously I'm the only person on Planet Heavy Harmonies with this view, but I didn't even think the first album was that good - considering the calibre of musicians involved. I'll not be bothering with this.

    Now bring it on.

    It was and is good.

    Debate over.

But seriously, with the "calibre of musicians involved" I personally (and now it's my turn to be all alone with an opinion) think it murders and shamelessly demolishes anything Journey even dreamt of releasing... or that they did release. :)

And btw, I probably don't rate it quite as high as most, but I do like it a lot.

Well I guess that's a style-thing, I prefer AOR over Hard Rock so am always going to love Journey more than this sort of plodding stuff. And vice versa with you. It would be fair to say that with the quality of musicians they had, Journey should have made more great/classic albums than they actually did, but I still think their catalogue easily beats that of a band that made one decent album & one pretty bad one....

    What, what and what...........jesus guys.

    1. The Hardline debut is an awesome slab of melodic hard rock

    2. The Journey back catalogue is just fine and dandy thanks.

    Get real guys.

Hardline is a great disc, not quite a classic in my book, but still great. Their second disc really was very poor, maybe something to do with Neal Schon not being on it and the songs being complete rubbish. I also unfortunately witnessed them at the Gods festival in 2002 and to say they were a mess live would be an understatement. Definitely as case of a one hit album band for sure.

As TIM says above, it depends on which style you lean towards as to who you would prefer, but Journey, who have a huge back catologue of mainly great albums (1 or 2 with deserved classic status) leave Hardline standing and watching in wonder on the touchline, wishing they had Neal Schon back in the band.

I can't believe so many didn't like the second one. If you are more of an aor person I can understand though.

  3. Never got around to getting their 2nd disc. How was that one? Close enough to the debut to warrant buying?

It was crap compared to the excellent debut and compared to alot of other things to be honest. Live they were even worse.

You need to download some clips because opinions vary on the second. Mine is that it is as good as the debut.

  4. I guess I just did not see the big upside with getting cassell and letting cutler go....same if it was reversed, both QB's can play football....the big mistake the new coach and gm in denver made was trying this and not getting their guy...then it gets out.....then lying to everyone what they were trying to do..(trade?...what trade??)...just grow some balls and admit you were shopping your best player, but it did not work out, and you are set now....but silence and lying just pisses everyone off...their story is they just fielded calls for him....who are they trying to kid, you don't see anyone calling to see if the mannings are available, or brady, etc.......of course they tried to trade him, ..they will be lucky to get Cutler to sign any type of extension now....3 years and he will likely jump to a team that actually wants to win...

I agree with everything in your statement.

As a life long Bronco fan I just don't get the logic of trying to trade a guy that made a pro bowl this year and threw for 4500 yards for a guy that didn't start a game in college. Sure Cassel had a good year last year but that was in a great system with a great O line and great wide receivers. There is no way to no what he's going to do on a mediorcre team. Cutler on the other hand had monster season with everyone around injured. They had season ending injuries to their first 6 running backs and he had throw the ball what seemed like a million times and they still won 8 games in spite of one of the worst defenses in the league. I don't get why these new ass clowns come in and want to shake things up with one of the best offenses in the NFL last year.

While I agree he will be good, the reason for the trade is his record as a starter & his turnover problem.

  5. I could download it right now but don't care for them...

I could give it a spin too, but I also haven't bothered... yet. I am thinking of doing so out of respect to DaVinci, but I can't say I'm excited. The debut wasn't awful, but wasn't real good either.

    Backed.

  6. Maybe they need to clear room to try and get Jake Plummer back!

That would cut into his day job...running the local Taco Bell :)

Actually he's a professional handball player.

And no I'm not making this up. There was an Outside the Lines a couple of months ago about him.

It said that he's had many offers to return to the NFL but didn't want to.

I'm a pro ball handler too but I don't claim it for a living :)

I thought you were a pocket pool player.

    Yes sir ;)

  8. 6. Here's where the sophomores finally garnered a vote, as "Powertool" is lightyears better than the debut. For comparison, if "Screwed, Blued & Tattooed" is Geoff's microscopic gnat of a dick, then "Powertool" is John Holme's legendary mammoth member.

    Wrong.

I should actually be taking this up with Rob, but you're far more evil than him so I'll take it out on you... Sleez Beez's debut is 'Look Like Hell'. Porcupine f*cker.

Wasn't that one so bad that it shouldn't count?

Seriously though until I came to this site I wasn't even aware that they had a disc before SB&T with a different vocalist since it didn't come out on a major label and it wasn't released in the US.

Yeah, if I were them I wouldn't claim it either ...

  9. There is no way this is gonna happen.

If Pioli of whover talks Pat Bowlen into this then he needs to fire himself.

This guy is a great young QB, sure he's not all the way there yet but he's young and he has a great arm which is hard to come by these days. What they need is a franchise running back which they traded away in Clinton Portis.

And no offense to Cassel but I'll take Cutler any day.

Oh and Jarred to answer your question about them being stupid, yes they're stupid they fired Shanahan didn't they..........

Pioli isn't taking Bowlen into anything. There was supposedly a three way deal going not including the Chiefs that would have sent Cassel over to Denver. KC swooped in & backdoored the Donks to get Cassel. Bad thing is that Cutler caught wind of all of this & is pissed off...deservedly so.

Either way it would of been a stupid move IMO.

Cutler can not only throw but also can run and I think Cassel's feet are made of lead.

I think we are watching different QB's...Cassel was a great scrambler last year...especially inside the 10 yeard line. I definitely agree about Cutler...would be a stupid move losing him. Now that the deal fell through they have to try & get the shit back in the horse.

  10. You are incorrect on all counts...

We gave up a second round pick for a potential franchise QB. Pioli is a smart guy & drafted Cassel...he knows what he's getting. I might add that Cassel was sacked twice as much with the Pats O-Line last year & Thigpen was sacked 21 times all year. Our line is not that bad...Cassel will flourish in this Haley offense.

As for Vrabel, he was not aquired to be here for 10 years. The defense is very, very young. We need leadership & experience...he will deliver that. Not to mention he will play middle LB...they blitz & stop the run...he will do that in a very productive manner for 3-4 more years. We will draft Curry at three and have one of the best LB core in the NFL.

The blogs on ESPN have about 95% of Pats fans pissed off because they feel they got hosed...I think they're right!

I respect your enthusiasm. Good luck this year! :beerbang:

    I'm a KC fan...have nothing but enthusiasm ;)

  12. I may be in the minority, but this time last year I said that the Browns had overrated Derek Anderson and should trade him for a high draft pick. I was right.

Well, Matt Cassel is this year's Anderson. Without an offensive line or Randy Moss, the guy is going to scramble around in the stretch offense and get hammered.

And Mike Vrabel is a paper tiger. The Patriots are adept at dumping aging veterans at the right time, i.e. Willie McGinest. I think they knew Vrabel was done.

Sorry to be a wet blanket. I hope I'm wrong. :(
