  1. I think knockout is one of their worst songs to date. the song writing is atrocious.

I had this discussion with someone elsewhere, comparing their current song writing to say... song writing from 2005.

    Today:

    Here comes the knockout
    My time is right now
    Turning your lights out
    I'm throwing down
    Here comes the knockout
    Until the last round
    I'm throwing down
Go start a fire, go start a fight
No regrets, this is your life
    Here comes the knockout
    My time is right now
    I'm throwing down

    2005
She came looking for some shelter with a suitcase full of dreams
To a motel room on the boulevard
I guess she's trying to be James Dean
She's seen all the disciples and all the "wanna be's"
No one wants to be themselves these days
Still there's nothing to hold on to but these days
These days - the stars seem out of reach
These days - there ain't a ladder on the streets
These days are fast, nothing lasts in this graceless age
There ain't nobody left but us these days

They have totally lost the art of story telling.
Their "hit maker" collaborations are pure shite.
He needs to give Desmond Child & Mr Sambora a call and sit down together to write some good songs again.

  2.

I think we can add concrete jungle to this list. Particular eBay seller has sold a stack of them recently.

That's not the daughter of the dad who produced it who a few years back was selling bundles? If so a good many of us deltvwith her and the discs are legit.

    I dont think so....

    UK seller.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=p728l306&_armrs=1&LH_Complete=1&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xconcrete.TRS0&_nkw=concrete&_sacat=0

Seller also sells Rock Candy 'Sucker', LA Smash, Rebel,...

Hey, I could be wrong but 6 copies sold, more currently selling, for around the $US30 mark.

  3. after reading some of the responses on here I thought maybe this album was gonna have too much pompous cheese for my liking, but i really like it.

I dont' think it's as overdone as say some bai bang stuff (which incidentally I like) , but i can see all the Eurovision comparisons.

definitely a winner to these ears. 'Hard to Get' is fantastic.

  4. In looking up the Joel Ellis - Bon Jovi plagiarism claim (another thread) I stumbled upon a an old bon jovi forum where it was said that an old demo from desmond child recorded in the period pre-1985 was unearthed which featured a FULL LENGTH version of Livin' On A Prayer.

Can't seem to find much about it online anywhere.... just wondering if anyone might have it or know anything about this story?

Have BJ pty ltd had all references deleted, or was it purely speculation?

  5. I hate these limited pressings. I almost feel pushed to purchase it now as later it will be crazy expensive and impossible to find. I'm still mad at myself that I didn't get Jones Street.

They're limited only becasue they're independent artists and they generally have the ability and finances to put out a single pressing of something like this. It's not financially viable for them to do a 2000 print run. Not becasue they dont want to sell 50,000 copies, but becasue 250 is are more risk vs. probable sale quantity.

Scott Ginn, who has released these has done it simply so he can finally put put some of his music he has had locked away for so long, rather than it disappear forever. That's why he's only charging $AUD10 ($US7.50) for the cds. He wants people to get the music in their hands and he just wants to cover his costs.

So he's not doing this to make it impossible to get Jacob, but in saying that they I can't see these being around forever. (I believe he had sold 50 on the first day!)

    Aussie band Dangerous!

Returned to oz after playing some big UK festival (maybe download)

Went on stage about 2 hours late

Played for just over 30 mins

    We're utter shite

One band member jumped into crowd and had security throw some guy out of the venue when his drink spilt on him (as the fukwit jumped into he crowd)

    Poor form.

    Dangerous or Dangerous Curves?

    Dangerous

actually saw dangerous curves last week and they were ok.

  8. Local band 'Tracer' .... saw them play to about 4 people as the opening band at a club one night and thought "these guys awesome... they'll go somewhere". Many years later great to see them moving on to bigger and better things.

    The Quireboys... swedenrock 2015

Was a 'casual' fan of these guys from years back but wasn't really expecting too much from them live. They were one of the most impressive bands I saw at the festival, with a fantastic live show, so much so I'm keen to see em again.
