I'm holding my breath, so who was it?
-
But just an update, since entering Canada 5 years ago from the States, I still haven't taken my citizenship exam. Still in the same job for 5 years,
I take it that's a good thing. Are you saying the same wouldn't be true, if I moved south of the 49th?
No, I'm really hoping to take the exam in a few months because I've already forgot most of the things I've reviewed about Canada. I thing that I still retain in my mind - the greatest drummer in rock is Canadian (oh, that was not in the reviewer!)
Anyway, thanks for all the "welcome back" but I would be very happy if you guys will update the Major Babe-age.

Bon Jovi - Crossroads (for $1.99 - and it skipped! crap)

Welcome back dude
THANKS!

After staying away from this forum for maybe a year or so, I'm happy that I re-discovered my love for hunting the most obscure hard rock/AOR/thrash metal CDs out there. Also happy to read the crazy comments here again. I'm enjoying my late evenings again here in heavyharmonies. But just an update, since entering Canada 5 years ago from the States, I still haven't taken my citizenship exam. Still in the same job for 5 years, still happily married to the same woman who hums along my The Brave Battle Cries CD.

I saw them, maybe three weeks ago. They're not scheduled to stop by Red Deer but since the Saddledome in Calgary was still not in good shape, they just decided to do it here as a fund raising for those who were affected by the flood in Southern Alberta. Great concert. Since it was more than 10 years ago since I last saw a big act like Rush, I was pleasantly surprised by the light show. I was still expecting those kinds that I always see in 80s metal live videos but boy, it's really different now.

Nice stories here. Reading them make me want to hunt again as I've stopped, maybe a year or so ago (that's the reason why I've not been active here in HH). Anyway, my $1 find is or should I say are 9 Metallica VHS tapes - 3 of them are the LIVE SHIT, Binge & Purge, S&M, One and so forth. An entire collection for only a buck in a yard sale. I asked the guy who owned the collection 'coz it's obviously not his, he said that it was his' son-in-law.

I have all of the episodes in my PVR. And I was quite surprised that I liked the last episode in which Sam delved into progressive metal (which I hate). Great interview with Steve Hackett (also a very rare early 70s footage showing Steve doing a right hand on the fingerboard tapping).
The Progressive Metal episode was great up until it got to the later-era stuff like Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan, etc.
...how is Dillinger Escape Plan considered a "progressive" band? They sound like a trunk load of musical equipment falling down an elevator shaft.
AGREE with the Dillinger Escape Plan. I just don't know what kind of "music" is that. Though, I liked that Meshuggah.

Everytime I check in here and see the What CD did you Buy This Week thread, I just don't want to believe that anyone in here is cheap. Or you people are just like me five years ago, refusing to buy anything that can be worn just to have money for CDs?

I read the news from facebook with an attachment of Davy Jones' last performance. And the song Daydream Believer stuck to my head yesterday. I think to the minute I went to bed, I was still singing the chorus of that song. RIP Davy.

BLITZSPEER - Live
BEDROKK - Undertow
Nice Gems Nelson..
Thanks. But up to now, I don't know how to classify that Blitzspeer band. I haven't heard of their first full lenght SAVES and I read from nolifetilmetal.com that some people classify them as thrash. In my opinion, they're just a traditional heavy metal band. Any opinion on this?

FEAR NOT - S/T
BEDROKK - Undertow

Very sad indeed. I've been planning to start a thread about him since I heard Westworld. He's not the flashiest and fastest but one of the very few who displayed real class and maturity in guitar playing. Only played what is right for the song. Probably it's my age, but I'm leaning more these days towards players like him and Kim Mitchell. Rest in peace.

So, what is Scarlett Johansson's character? Is she the Scarlet Witch? She's not wearing the right skimpy attire if that is her.

Though I haven't started it yet, (I bought this along with that Bon Jovi CD yesterday at a local thrift store with a change of career in mind):
ILLUSTRATING CHILDREN'S BOOKS - Martin Salibury
I'm not really into novels but very much into books about Advertising, watercolor, heavy metal and now illustration.
