H.E.A.T for me
-
Between Degreed, Pretty Maids and W.e.t for me....
Probably would go with Pretty Maids.
-
What about 8 tracks? Maybe they'll release it on those....
I get the nostalgia craze but it's silly to me that they'd release something on cassette and not CD.
Apparently not very concerned about selling physical copies of this.

I think that song is better than the debut. v nice
Agree.
Debut was just okay at best for me. Overall just didn't find the songs that catchy or something. I know I listened to it a few times thinking I should've dug it but never did. Robin sounded great on it though. Think it was mostly just the songs themselves that didn't do much for me.
Digging this tune though.

Crazy Lixx for me.

I'm going with Halestorm here narrowly over WET.

I got nothing here....Another year when I just listened to my collection.

Crazy Lixx

For me it's Hinder's Take it to the Limit. Loved that album.

This one is Daughtry for me.....Dug his first few albums.
-
Unsurprising, but Def Leppard for me.
Have to say again that this album is one that's grown on me over the years as I didn't care much for it when it dropped. But as I look back now, it basically blows away the albums that came after it IMO (Sparkle and S/T). At least this album still had a big Def Leppard sound to it even if it was a bit too commercial.

100% utterly essential, would be my detailed thesis.
Listening to the metallic blue album now...sounding real good! How many albums do they have? What would you say is their best?

Having a fair idea of your tastes and seeing your reply in the 1999 thread too, am I too assume you've never heard Steelhouse Lane?
I haven't. Worth checking out?

Another tough year....don't remember spending much time with any of these.
Can't even pick one. I must've spent all year just listening to my collection of CD's.
-
I'll go Leppard. Didn't love this album by any means but few good tunes at least.
-
Man, tough year as I liked basically nothing here.
I'll say Fuel though as I dug Shimmer quite a bit so will give that the nod.

Yeah the talent is clearly there..when they go full melodic its really good... they most know this though..the three singles releases thus far are the more commercial Melodic rock material and probably best three tracks on disc...but they move away from it a lot...the singer is very good...when he sings..the screaming isnt my thing and I think he just oversings a lot...but its still a decent listen...but between this and the previous release I only get about 6 or 7 tunes that I dig....Guitarist sounds great btw
Agree.
I mean, I really dig rhe more melodic tunes like Hail to the Heroes, Loves Damnation, Lovers Train and Clear the Blur. I kind of don't mind Primeval Desire even though that does get a bit screamy. Children of the Night has grown on me a little bit. The two songs with "Rock n Roll" in the title are both instant skips for me, as is I'm Not the Devil. Also don't care much for the Shamans of Time tune.
If these guys would done a whole album full of tunes more geared toward melodic hard rock like the 4 I mentioned, they really would've had an outstanding album.
Still pretty good though and a band worth watching to see what direction they head in.

Only one spin through and I agree it's a great album.
Not sure about it topping We Don't Belong, but it is more in that vein than the last album which was probably their weakest imo.
Interesting that you single out Radio - that was the low point for me. Just went nowhere and plodded along.
Several gems throughout though and a good mix of heaviness and more melodic moments
Yeah, the musical interlude in Radio is starting to bug me a little bit with more listens.
I'd replace Radio with Turn Back after more listens. Really liking that tune.

Pretty Maids Spooked.

Gave this album a listen.
It's okay but I really only found 4 songs that will be added to my playlist....Love's Damnation, Clear The Blur, Lovers Train and Hail To The Heroes. I really dig that title track....Just fantastic.
These guys have a cool sound and the singer can belt it out. But my problem is that he just screams a bit too much for my liking sometimes. He's clearly a good singer as you can hear that in some of the songs. I think the tunes I like best are when he sort of stays under control in the more melodic hard rock songs. It's the screaming and the more metal tunes that lose me.
I'll keep eyes on these guys as IMO there's potential to do a really killer album if they sort of dial it back just a bit and stick to melodic hard rock for the entire album.
Here's a new video they released today....good tune...

I guess I'd pick Tesla but didn't care all that much for that album.
I know I spent 1994 listening to CD's that had come out in previous years.

Bon Jovi by a mile - their last truly great album.
Jeez that's a barren graphic, sad times
Same for me.

Big Def Leppard fan and I did think the self-titled album was okay. But for me that album was hurt by being 14 tracks. Would've been much stronger as a 10 track album.
Anyways, it's Eclipse for me. Fantastic album and probably remains my favorite release from them although Wired is right there.
