  3. Exactly. The music sounds nice but those vocals totally destroy it.

  5. Spoke to the drummer of the band MIRIAH. He is going to send me a CDR of their studio demos!!! YES!!!
  6. Out of interest what year were these tracks recorded? 1992
  7. And AGAIN...... RUMBLE STREET kicks ass!!!!!! This 5-song demo is smoking!!
  8. Sammy Sosa only has the demos burned to 2 discs. But he is going to send them my way!! So Mis-Fit and Mr. Right demos are headed for the mailbox!!!
  9. I have tried several times to listen to this to see if it will grow. But I am just fooling myself. It won't. It kinda stinks. A very weak disc with no clear cut great song on it. A few pretty decent ones but nothing that great. And then several that are downright bad.
  10. Rumble Street KICKS ASS!! Can't wait to hear their first demo.
  11. Just spoke to Aubrey Bradley from Korupt. Didn't know he was a member of RUMBLE STREET at one time. And he has a copy of their demo tape that he's going to send to me. Here is the review from the songs I was talking about!! Found a review of RUMBLE STREET's demo in ROX: Rumble Street Rumble Street With the current glut of L.A. glam/biker rock clones in the market, Rumble Street are an easily forgotten band. The band member do display promise, but their creative direction won't do much to move them into the spotlight. . .or my cassette deck. Their five-song demo begins with "Open Road," a mid-tempo, basic progression grunge ballad. I felt like I was walking in molasses waiting for this open road to lead somewhere. It never did. The next cut is "Go All The Way," (Careful, the titles are out of order on the J-cover!), which opens with a cool tom tom pattern then breaks into something too L.A. Guns-ish. The convincing erotic moans did get under my skin, though. "Rumble Street," the third track, is a grinding city sleaze tune. This one is furious urban noise that made me see steam rising off the asphalt and pushers on the corner. Next up, "Heat Of The City" has all the basic components of a good hard rock song, but wasn't nearly as fresh or convincing as "Rumble Street." Last, but not least, "Need Your Love" as an interesting combination of Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" and the Gunners' "My Michelle." This cut best displays vocalist Mark Savage's ability to hit those banshee wails, and is, ironically, about the most original piece on the demo. All told, this demo does have its merits. The songs have a street feel and the recording is fairly tight. But the main problem here is that Rumble Street's sound is too common, and in the city of a thousand bands, you need a lot more than a so-so demo to keep from getting buried under the pile.
  12. Just heard from drummer Joe Piccirillo from Bad Love (and later Rex Hunter). He says he has one more Bad Love demo tape left. He is going to look for it and send it to me!!
  13. To be released tomorrow March 11th, "7 Deadly Sins", the new album by Swiss hard rockers ME AND THE REST is my first approach to the band. However, the group has been active in central Europe for more than 20 years, with several recordings under their belt and more than 400 gigs, some of them supporting the likes of Krokus, Don Dokken, Rhino Bucket, Doro, etc. Since first track 'Holy Angels', Me And The Rest make honor to their homeland watch precision but in this case applied to traditional Hard Rock. Me And The Rest sound unmistakable German / Swiss, with all the vibe from this particular place in Earth when we speak about Rock: tight, precise, clean Hard Rock with an '80s foundation. Some kind of mix between Krokus / Bonfire / Victory yet always very, very melodic, and why not, catchy. Tracks like 'Take It or Leave It' will remind you Accept's more accessible side, while 'Temples of Gold' Mat Sinner's own band Sinner, but Me And The Rest never turn things too heavy. Take as example midtempo 'Echoes of the Past', in fact a melodic hard rocker with some Gotthard on it. The above influences pretty much paint Me And The Rest's sound, and they are very good musicians, and the best of all, compose strong hard rock songs. Pumping bass lines (handled by female Edel Murchie), twin guitar riffs (always sharp and tight), dynamic beat drums and really fine vocals by Jürg Theiler-Scotch (who always wears kilt). He indeed feels Scottish-born as his English is excellent. 'Burning Bridges' is another highlight, a true German melodic hard rock track where Bonfire comes to mind, and perhaps Mat Sinner's other band Casanova. 'Better Oldschool' makes justice to its title as it's a rocker inspired by classic AC/DC / Krokus, while title track '7 Deadly Sins' to my ears even sounds like some recent Treat works. Me And The Rest have nothing to envy to major acts from the current hard rock scene, as "7 Deadly Sins" is more than a solid record with strong compositions and first class production. Not strange, as the man behind the desk is talented Rolf Munkes (Tony Martin, Empire). A really nice surprise - Highly Recommended 01 - Holy Angels 02 - Take It or Leave It 03 - Temples of Gold 04 - Echoes of the Past 05 - Burning Bridges 06 - Better Oldschool 07 - 7 Deadly Sins 08 - City of Hope 09 - When the West Winds Blow 10 - Hell or High Water 11 - Long Way to Sweden 12 - World on Fire Jürg Theiler-Scotch - Vocals Edel Murchie - Bass Jürg Götz - Guitar Antonio Schiavano - Guitar Jan Moser - Drums PRE-ORDER: www.cede.ch/en/music/?branch_sub=2&id=1314227&view=detail .
  14. Demos still on the way: Iroc Shake The Faith Mis-Fit and/or Mr. Right Them Damn Dogs EZ-Axtion
  15. Just got demos from RUMBLE STREET. But the odd thing is, I have a review of their demo from ROX and these songs are completely different than the ones reviewed. So this must be a later demo. Very hard to track down the singer Marc Savage, but I did track down their guitarist Stephen Jones. He hooked me up with 5 tracks.
  16. Sounds about right, but some lower scores for me on some. Yeah.... even Bulletime is a stretch at 7/10. This band has completely lost the plot. Me think so also! Bullettime is such a weak song. Rock It is the worst!
  17. February 23, 2016 Jeff Pilson: Hello 80’s metalheads, lurkers, and surfers! There is word again of a possible DOKKEN reunion, this time from former bassist, Jeff Pilson, who says “we’re actually working really hard to try and pull something together right now. It has to fall in spaces where there is time off [from my gig with Foreigner], so I don’t know for sure whether it’s gonna happen. So let’s just say we’re all friendly now, we’re all past all the decades-old crap, and we all talk and everything’s great. Now it really is just down to scheduling and trying to figure it out. Because, you know, you’ve gotta do it right, if you’re gonna do it. We all feel that way. Pilson continued; “We shared something very special together. I think we’re all at the point in life where we kind of appreciate it now. And if we ever get a chance to do some more with it, I think… It would be very interesting, because we’ve never been in a situation where there wasn’t animosity, so I don’t know. [Laughs] Maybe it won’t work. I don’t know. [Laughs]”
  18. I am in FB contact with a band manager for both Rumble Street and Miriah. He is going to contact band members in hopes to obtain demos. Also getting closer to getting demos from Mis-Fit/Mr. Right.
