I tried to get people going on Crimson Glory way back then but didnt have any luck warming them up to it. "Strange and Beautiful was a LOT different from "Transcendance" but I liked it too.

I'm giving my nod to "Victims of the Future" over "Corridors" though a close one. Not coincidentally, Ian Paice bangs the drums on both. 'Slinger, I'm with you that when Gary is on, he really hits home, and when he isn't, well... most of my Gary Moore is on vinyl, so its a lot harder to hit the skip button ! 'White Knuckles" has some incredible guitar playing(Rockin & Rollin,Dirty Fingers, Really Gonna Rock Tonight) and then some not so much(You Kissed me Sweetly, Dancin' ,Hot Gossip) "Anthology" (released in '86, all pre - Corridors material) is the same. I love 'The Loner" but not a lot else after that hit home for me. He bought Peter Green's '59 gold top Les Paul to help him through some bad times and did the tribute "Blues for Greeny" but for the uninitiated, "Victims" and "Corridors" are where you will want to start.

thanks, charvel ! "Dig" absolutely blew me away; and still does! I saw them at the Cannery in Nashville right after the release and they were an awesome live band. I really wish they had made more albums. Oh, and I forgot Allan Holdsworth - supposedly from whom EVH got his inspiration for fingertapping...

Wow, this is actually a tough one. I saw AC/DC with Bon in 1979 so "Highway to Hell' holds a special place for me there. I LOVED 'Dont ever wanna lose you" , but not the rest of the album. "Strangers in the Night" was a fave of mine . Here in the south, Molly Hatchet , Blackfoot, and .38 were all huge . My first girlfriend bought me "Freedom at Point Zero" Armed with hindsight, my vote went to Rush . but also that year was: Zeppelin - In through the Out Door Van Halen II ZZ Top - Deguello Bad Co - Desolation Angels Fandango - One Night stand ( I really liked that one and would love a CD copy ofit) Rory Gallagher - Top Priority (A late, great guitarist's best i.m.o.) Tom Petty - Youre Gonna Get It ( I think ? was '79) here's food for thought: almost 30 yrs later, these tracks are still classic rock radio staples: Cheap Sunglasses Rock & Roll Fantasy Highway to Hell Highway Song and Train, Train Flirtin with Disaster Rockin' into the Night Spirit of Radio and Freewill Dance the Night Away Lovin Touchin Squeezin (even thoght its my least favorite track on the great album) Head Games Jane In the Evening and all My Love Dream Police

The original s/t Wrabit LP was on the MCA label; were there any CDs issued by them or are they all subsequent re - releases by others?

does anyone else like the Hughes / Thrall s.t. from '82 ? Not every track works, but I dig the ones that do; esp. "Who Will You Run To"

I love going back to Al DiMeola and listening to "land of the MidnightSun" and "Elegant Gypsy" Those albums are absolute classics in the guitar instrumentalist genre ! 'Casino is good,too ; his latter stuff does not appeal to me as much. ilove "Not of this Earth" and "Surfing" by Satch... couldve done without his vocal phase. if you want to get into this style music, check out : Vinnie Moore - Minds Eye Yngwie - obviously Tony McAlpine - Maximum Security Greg Howe Chastain - through the Fire (Ithink thats the name) Michael Fath - I have "Flick of the Wrist' maybe some of his other stuff is better? Joe Bonamassa - he has vocals , but I really like him Jeff Beck - any or all Eric Johnson Gary Moore - his '70s and early "80s work (I would not put him up against the first 3 guys in a speed contest, but I have always dug him !)

How about the Eagles' 'Long Run" as a follow up to "Hotel california"? Should 'Hotel" be listed among the perfect albums ? any opinions ?
