  1. I just picked up (among a whole bunch of other rare goodies) a self titled album by a band called Palatinate. It will probably be a week or so before I have it in my hands to listen to. Does anyone know what they sound like and what year it was released? There seems to be little or no information about this band on the net.

  2. The 3 up there at the moment are not bad at all.

If the whole set is like this, it will be one to pick up.

The only things is how many friggin' hours will it take to input the box set into the HH database?

With 25 CD's in the set it might make 7th Heaven the band with the most entries in the database. I dunno, probably Deep Purple or Styx or someone will still have more.

  3. Yeah Geoff I got 2 e-mails from play4me this week, the latest stating:

"We are currently waiting on stock to arrive from our suppliers. We do hope to despatch this title ASAP. Once this title has been despatched we will confirm via email. This will not delay any additional items you may have in this order.

We will notify you immediately with any further updates with regards to this item and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."

At least they communicate with their customers when there are delays, that I appreciate.

  4. Whitesnake - Live In The Still Of The Night

I've got to agree with this.

This is without doubt the best live music DVD I've ever seen. Very well produced, great atmosphere, a brilliant show from start to finish. It was shot in high def using 13 different cameras and at times they use a cool black and white effect which has to been seen to understand how good it really is.

It was recorded live at Hammersmith Odeon in 2004.

    Whitesnake Line-Up:

    David Coverdale (lead vocals)

    Doug Aldrich (guitar, vocals)

    Reb Beach (guitar, vocals)

    Timothy Drury (keyboards, vocals)

    Marco Mendoza (bass, vocals)

    Tommy Aldridge (drums)

    09. Cryin' In The Rain

    10. Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City

    11. Don't Break My Heart Again

    12. Fool For Your Loving

    13. Here I Go Again

  5. Yeah I just read the 7th Heaven newsletter this morning and I've been drooling about this ever since. Love this band. The good thing about this is that all of the old songs have been freshly re-recorded to give them a better sound/production. Its an absolute shit load of songs and I'm so looking forward to picking up this box set and playing them all. Wonder what sort of dollar this box set will sell for?

  6. not sure if anyone's read about this but this is apparently to be released by Frontiers in August.

Supposed to be 110% Harem Scarem sound according to Mario..........

    Nice.

Turning out to be a hell of a year.

    Sounds awesome!

  7. It seems very strange that HH is the only affected website. I'm not sure if this would achieve much but it would be interesting to see if the main pages worked on another computer within your house. Maybe if you know someone who can bring by their laptop or something.

  8. Anyone know anything about the Korean record label "Jigu Records"?

I know that they have re-released a number of AOR albums in the past including 'Rick Laine' - 'When The Time Was Not...' which had a different cover and was re-named 'Brother And Brother' - 'When Time Was Not...'

Is anyone able to comment on the label? Do you have any CD's from Jigu Records? Are they still active? Do they do decent re-issues or are they dodgy?

  9. Don't mean to kick this off again but I was going through the collection and came across the 101 South discs. It still pisses me right off that no one ever got what they paid for. Yeah the new 'No U-Turn' disc EVENTUALLY arrived but I don't think anyone ever got the re-issued versions of the first two albums with bonus tracks that they paid for. I never heard an explanation as to why no re-issues were sent out. I guess they never existed. Still a bit of honesty would have been nice.

  10. Nice. Is it good? I saw them quite a few times live and they were always excellent. Would be keen to check this out. A few classics missing, but overall a pretty cool tracklist.

Will let you know as soon as it arrives. Agreed, a couple of their best tunes are missing from the track list (especially from 'Shoot This'), but overall looks pretty good.

  11.

Realm of Kaos is a new store located at 154 Peel St. Melbourne. Haven't been there yet but apparently they have a selection of Hard Rock titles as well as lots of metal.

I went to Realm of Kaos while in Melbourne during the week and can highly recommend the store to all the Aussie Hard Rock/Metal fans on this forum. I'm told a website will be up soon but in the meantime you can either visit the store if your in Melbourne or phone them (9329-7447) and the awesome dude who works there will post your CD's for free within Australia. While the product range is probably targeted more toward the metal crowd, there is quite a bit of Hard Rock as well. I saw they had new titles such as the new RATT, Treat, Reckless Love and Crazy Lixx in stock. I managed to pick up a few harder to find classic Hard Rock CD's as well as a few DVD's. I have to say the store is excellent and the owner is a really genuine person who knows his Hard Rock/Metal as well as anyone and is 100% committed to delivering top service. I'll post another message here when the website is up and running.

  12. Okay, i have gathered the following thru my correspondance with this person the last 2 days

    - will not do a single disc trade first to "gain trust"

    - does not own a digital camera to take picture of the inserts and discs to send me

    - needs the trade done immediately cos he's going in for cancer treatment in 2 weeks

    - has not supplied any refererences or history

    Make up your own mind...

That gaining trust thing sounds like a load of shit and who doesn't have access to a camera these days. Borrow one maybe. Anyone with a 6000+ CD collection (as he stated one another forum) should own or be able to afford a camera/phone camera (you would think?). From what you've said above Lindsay I would avoid this trader as well.

  13. i really like nevertheless. couldn´t quite get into the railbirds disc or lift off.

Yeah most people I've spoken to feel the same way, but to be honest I think 'Lift Off' is the better album. Both are very good though.
