  1. Lita Ford - out (or was never in)

    Quiet Riot - out

    Warrant - out

    LA Guns - still in

What a shit tour this has turned in to. I'd still like to see LA Guns and totally respect them for continuing but man what a disappointment going from 3 great bands down to 1.

Why do so many bands get announced as coming to Australia and then cancel at late notice. Off the top off my head - Crown of Thorns and Jeff Scott Soto (who promised to reschedule) both did the same.

There are so many bands that would love to come to Australia - how can we make it happen for them?

  2. I've never actually heard this album but being a Jeff Paris fan I have had this on my want list for a while. The original release was in smallish numbers and a Japan only release which is why a lot of people don't have this one. It does show up on E-Bay quite regularly but it is expensive.

Now it has been re-issued (I'm not sure which label) with one bonus track 'Hygiene' and is available at MusicBuyMail for EUR 14.50

  3. I finally got to listen to this last night and those demo's are the best I've ever heard IMO not a filler on it. I really need this on CD, I can't wait to hear the other demo's.

Couldn't agree more, along with Garrison, these guys are the best unsigned band ever.

  4. whoa, now thats a sweet set of songs :)

I agree, excellent songs, each and every one of them. For demos they are of a pretty good quality too. I know there's more out there too - would love to see them all on an anthology type CD one day. Brilliant stuff, thanks a lot Todd.

  5. Wow, nice work on that list! Sure makes me wish I had a better paying job.

I can't wait for that Whitesnake Monsters of Rock DVD. Work of Art, Kimball/Jamison, Jeff Paris, Journey, Big Life, 1927 - all very exciting. And Reckless Love - I'm expecting good things from their next album too.

THE STORM - tba (AOR) / Frontiers Records

is this the Chlafant/Rollie band or someone else?

  7. yeah... very, very bad promotion for the album

buy it from french only website

buy it from german website emp and pay 20 Euro shipping

    don't answer myspace messages.

As you say, do they want anyone to buy it.

I've noticed this quite a bit lately, and it seems to be common among some of the newer Hard Rock / Modern Hard Rock bands on the scene. Basically if your album isn't made readily available and they don't reply to messages, then they won't be selling any CD's. At the very least, they need to put some info on MySpace/FaceBook or whatever their official website is, telling people where they can order a CD from.

  8. 1927 are in the studio now. New album should be complete in a few weeks/maybe a month.

haven't they been in the studios for about 7 years now?

Well yes, they've been saying that for years now, but this time they have actually entered the studio.

Any hints as to what this will actually sound like? I have to be honest and say I'd be absolutely stunned if they actually produced something worthwhile. But it would be a pleasant shade of being stunned.

I'm not really sure what direction they are heading in with thtis new album, but I can say the two new songs I have heard them play live are excellent. I'd be expecting something a lot more modern sounding than the classic 1927 sound but we shall see. To be honest these guys didn't write any songs that I didn't enjoy. I can play all three of their discs from start to finish and enjoy all of it. I don't know why, I just have a real liking for their sound.

  9. I managed to find a couple of tracks online and the answer to my earlier question is that it's very soft. The songs weren't too bad, but I would say this is pretty close to being straight up pop music. I'll avoid.

It is definately at the softer end of the Hard Rock spectrum, but I certainly wouldn't call this anything remotely like straight up pop music. IMO.
