Okay, having lived with this one for a few days now, I can say it's actually pretty damn good. If you've enjoyed HoL in the past, and haven't bothered checking out the entire album, you may be doing yourself a disservice.

This just goes to show that great music is timeless.
*There is actually a 17th song that Rick missed; Guns N’ Roses - Sweet Child o Mine has 1.3 billion plays and came out in 1987

From BraveWords:
Ozzy Osbourne has topped his previous chart entries with record-breaking numbers around the world for his critically acclaimed new album Patient Number 9.
Released September 9 and marking Ozzy’s 13th solo studio album, it triumphantly sets new career highs for Ozzy. In the US, the album debuted at #1 on multiple charts: Top Album Sales (Ozzy’s first #1 ever on this chart), Top Current Album Sales (another first), Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Vinyl Albums and Tastemaker Albums charts; and at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. Globally, the album charted at #1 in Canada (Ozzy’s first-ever #1 there); career high #2 entries in the UK, Australia, Finland and Italy; #6 in the Netherlands and New Zealand; #8 in Belgium; and #14 France. Other highlights include #2 Austria, Germany and Sweden; #3 in Switzerland; and #4 in Norway.
Ozzy is providing an inside look into the making of the album with a three-clip video series featuring interviews and in-studio clips with some of featured performers. Watch the first episode below:
Produced by Andrew Watt, Patient Number 9 marks Ozzy’s 13th solo studio album. It’s heavy, it’s hard-hitting, it’s historic - it’s everything you’d want from an Ozzy record and maybe more. Working with producer Watt for the second time, Ozzy welcomed a dynamic A-list featured guests. For the first time ever, Black Sabbath co-founder, guitarist, and riff-master Tony Iommi appears on an Ozzy solo album.
The record also boasts guitarists Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and longstanding righthand man and six-string beast Zakk Wylde who plays on the majority of the tracks. For the bulk of the album, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers held down drums, while the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters appears on three songs. Old friend and one-time Ozzy band member Robert Trujillo of Metallica plays bass on most of the album’s tracks, with Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney supplying bass on a few songs.

Legendary, long-running heavy metallers Stryper are set to return with a brand new studio album, "The Final Battle"! Firmly continuing the trend established over their last few albums, "The Final Battle" sees the band growing heavier while also maintaining their trademark melodies, virtuoso guitar playing, and air tight rhythms.
"The Final Battle" was crafted during the most challenging time of the band's career. While they suffered the same setbacks faced by all artists during the course of the global pandemic, the band also had to contend with Oz Fox's ongoing battle with brain tumors and for Michael Sweet, a detached retina which required multiple medical procedures, the use of an eye patch, and limited mobility for stretches of time. But rather than let the adversity get them down, the band accepted these challenges and channeled it into writing some of the greatest songs of their storied career.
Defying all logic, "The Final Battle" somehow manages to best it's immediate predecessors, "No More Hell To Pay" (2013), "Fallen" (2015), "God Damn Evil" (2018), and "Even The Devil Believes" (2020), continuing the band's unprecedented late career streak of releasing arguably the best albums of their multi-decade career. How do they do it? Well, we may never know the answer, but we can be thankful that the gift of musical inspiration continues to find them as they consistently share their musical fountain of youth with heavy metal lovers around the globe.
When it comes to groundbreaking bands in the metal genre, Stryper is renowned for their distinctive brand of “heavenly metal,” extraordinary crossover success, and venerable endurance. The group ascended to prominence in the 1980s with Billboard Top 40 hits like “Calling on You,” “Honestly,” and “Always There for You” and had maintained a global fanbase since. Stryper’s career album sales exceed 10 million worldwide, including 1986’s multi platinum release “To Hell with the Devil.” The band also made history when it notched two songs simultaneously in MTV’s Top 10 with videos “Free” and “Honestly.” While Stryper is known for their Christian faith, their decades plus career in heavy metal has made them much more than just a ‘Christian metal’ band. Sure, that is part of who they are, but at the end of the day, they are simply a long-running and well respected heavy metal band with a late-career rebirth that has proved their enduring talent and musical skills are well intact.
Today, some 37+ years after emerging from the southern California nightclub scene, the foursome continues to record, tour and perform for loyal fans around the globe. Comprising three original members including brothers Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar) and Robert Sweet (drums), Oz Fox (guitar) and newest bandmate, seasoned bassist Perry Richardson (formerly of Firehouse), the group finds itself creating their finest, most powerful music yet.

Not shit, quite good actually.
I remember growing up, it was RARE that you'd hear someone trashing groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, U2, The Police, etc.... because, well... it made you seem foolish. If you don't like a band, fine, but saying they suck, or are shit when they've sold millions of albums and sold out concert tours world wide makes you sound like a complete asshat.
Enter the late 90s and the explosion of the internet, and every moron who thought it made them cool to trash bands like Nickelback, Metallica, etc came out of the woodwork, and it's just gotten worse since.
This is literally what I see in my mind every time I read someone trashing a highly successful band...

The biggest problem with the ratings is people thinking their opinion is the "right" one, and when they see a disc that they don't care for highly rated, they'll decide that giving it a "1" is fair, because it's too highly rated, and it's average needs to be brought down. Same can be said in reverse as well, of course, that if they see something they feel is low, they'll give it an undeserved 100 trying to raise it's average to where they think it should be. Honestly, a thumbs up or thumbs down system might be more accurate in the end.

I've given this one 3 full listens, and my initial thought is that I like 2020's "Ordinary Man" better, BUT, this one has some damn good stuff on it as well. The title track, Immortal, Parasite, One of Those Days, and Degradation Rules are my faves so far.
Here's mister Snyder's take on Patient Number 9:

New video "WWIII"
The time has arrived for TESTAMENT to unleash new thunder to the masses and reveal their thirteenth studio album: Titans Of Creation. Just as the elements of this planet thrive within all living creatures, each musician in TESTAMENT represents a necessary component of this latest musical endeavour. Still filled with a massive and unstoppable energy since their last release, TESTAMENT has taken their style to the next level and present an album that is loyal to the roots of traditional thrash metal while still bringing alluring, brilliant, and progressive ingredients to the table. Bass is showcased, new vocals are introduced, and as expected, the guitarwork of Peterson and Skolnick is greatly complex and mesmerizing.
In 2020 the days of writing an album all together in one room are far gone, but to be able to take advantage of technology allows for TESTAMENT to go about a very similar writing process to what they always have. Basic songs are molded, structures are added by everyone in the group, instrumentals are highlighted, and finally the lyrics and vocals are created to finalize the sonic story. Facetime and human on human contact still remain crucial elements to TESTAMENT’s song writing process and at some point throughout, every member physically interacts and writes with one another. In between writing this album, the band toured relentlessly which allowed for less stress, more time in between, and greater inspiration for this album cycle. There was also plenty of anxiety-free and level-headed time for pre-production and the initial recording process with Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios. Andy Sneap was then able to tweak, mix, and master this album to his usual perfection.01. Chidren Of The Next Level . 02. WWIII 03. Dream Deceiver 04. Night Of The Witch 05. City Of Angels 06. Ishtar’s Gate 07. Symptoms 08. False Prophet 09. The Healers 10. Code Of Hammurabi 11. Curse Of Osiris 12. Catacombs
