  1. Finally got to listen all the way through earlier, and I concur; several really good songs, but a lot I would classify as simply kinda dull. They seem to have gone in a more cerebral direction on this one, more akin to “ IV” than their previous two releases, and that just isn’t what most fans want.

  2. Rob Thomas' last solo disc, "Chip Tooth Smile" was AWESOME, so I'm kinda interested to hear what MB20 come up with here.

    12. Selling Faith

Nearly eleven years since their last release, the band sounds refreshed as ever on Where The Light Goes, benefitting from the musicians’ respective solo journeys. Rob Thomas has proven one of the most highly decorated artists of recent years – releasing five solo albums and receiving three GRAMMY Awards, 11 BMI Awards, the first-ever Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award, two Billboard “Songwriter of the Year” honors, and top 5 placement on Billboard’s Top 20 Hot 100 Songwriters (2000-2011). Meanwhile, Paul Doucette has scored and contributed original music to film and television series such as Utopia, For All Mankind, and more.

  3. Metal Sludge — KIX are calling it quits.

After more than 40 years the Baltimore based KIX have decided to throw in the towel.

KIX first formed in the late 1970’s and a few years later signed with Atlantic Records releasing their self-titled debut in 1981.

The band have remained a crowd favorite with a die-hard underground following that has helped them tour throughout the United States and beyond for decades.

As of tonight May 7th, the band’s singer Steve Whitemanhas just told the M3 Rock-Fest crowd during the band’s headlining set that they are retiring this fall.

“KIX… The Final Show” as it’s being billed will take place on Sunday September 17th 2023 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia Maryland.

KIX have released 7 studios albums, 2 live albums and 3 compilations over their career along with making various guest appearances.

There is no official statement from the band as of this posting but once available we’ll be sure to share it with you.

Bravo KIX… you have nothing left to prove.

This soundtrack outshines a movie even though the movie had big box office stars. The soundtrack features 80s hard rock bands alongside alternative metal acts and 2 of the big4 thrash metal artists. What soundtrack am I?

    Last Action Hero? 🤔

It's a good album. Better than Hardwired and Magnetic, but maybe a bit overly long considering there isn't a lot of variety in the songs. Some tracks defo stand out more than others, but overall nothing bad on the album at all.

What I do like though is they have taken influences from a lot of their back cataloguem without trying to sound like a nostalgia act.

Agree that it's better than the previous two releases for sure. The problem I'm having is that some of these songs just feel like they drone on forever. Anytime you go over the 5-5:30 mark, that song better be fucking magnificent to hold the listeners attention. With that said, Lux Aeterna (by far the best track on the album, and also the shortest), the title track, Screaming Suicide, Sleepwalk My Life Away, Crown of Barbed Wire, and Too Far Gone? are the tracks that are sticking with me so far. Musically, Inamorata is good, it's just too damn long.

  6. Listening to this one this afternoon... first thing I noticed was that "Shattered Glass" was actually one of the better tracks in comparison to the rest...

It sounded alot better off my CD than the video, so that probably improved my opinion of the song. Overall, this album is just a big bag of "meh" though.
