"On the Line" I like this one...

There've been quite a few of these re-recordings done over the years, but this Michael Shea guy has fucking nailed it. I've always thought that there was a decent album in there somewhere... he found it.
Jan 8, 2024This is a bastardized re-recording of Metallica's album St. Anger. The songs are shorter, the production is better, and the snare drum is more tolerable. I took some creative liberties with the songs and did what I thought would benefit them. Everything has been re-recorded from the ground up, except for the vocals which were extracted from the original album.
0:00 Frantic
3:28 St. Anger
7:59 Some Kind Of Monster
13:01 Dirty Window
17:09 Invisible Kid
22:28 My World
26:46 Shoot Me Again
31:35 Sweet Amber
36:21 The Unnamed Feeling
42:02 Purify
46:31 All Within My Hands

Completely missed these guys back when they originally released "Judgement Day". They posted a bunch of songs a few weeks ago on their YouTube channel, and this one popped up in my suggestions this morning... love it!
Love me some Darren James Smith on vocals!

The track's pretty cool and catchy like the first, but the video is disturbing.
I'm getting an uncomfortable vibe from these guys.
Not that there's anything wrong with that of course.
I may be wrong.
But hey, it's all about the music.
I get a distinct Blue Oyster Bar vibe…
As you say, not that there’s anything wrong with that. 😜

Very nice. This band has definitely raised their game since bringing former China frontman Eric St. Michaels aboard. I’ll be picking this one up. 👍

Man, how great was that Bad Company debut? Damn thing is more or less a Greatest Hits package right off the bat.
On the flip side, I remember being so disappointed when I picked up Rocka Rolla thinking it was gonna be some British Steel style Judas Priest. 😜
-
So I guess they started moving in a more melodic direction with 2018's Play to Win? Prior to that, everything I'd heard from them was speed/straight metal (and not really that good IMO), so I stopped paying attention to them. 🤷 New stuff is pretty good.

A cover that for some damn reason I really like 😜

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT
Announce Studio Album 'Ghost Stories' due Out April 12th via Frontiers Music SrlBLUE ÖYSTER CULT is eagerly gearing up for an exciting new chapter in their storied career with the upcoming release of 'Ghost Stories.' This highly anticipated album marks a fitting finale to the recording legacy of one of rock’s most iconic fixtures from the past 50 years.
BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is set to captivate fans with a collection of reimagined and newly completed songs that span from 1978-2016. These musical treasures, long considered 'lost gems' by BLUE ÖYSTER CULT enthusiasts, were originally recorded between 1978 and 1983, except for one track from 2016, "If I Fell." Also included is the only known studio recording of their concert classic “Kick Out the Jams” (MC5 cover). Some of the material is from sessions workshopping material for an album, some is from performance rehearsals.George Geranios, the band's original audio engineer co-produced the original 1978-83 recordings along with BÖC. All were originally recorded on reel-to-reel analog tape. They were later transferred to digital audio, which is when modern AI and magical musical talents met and the collection of vintage multi-track recordings was de-mixed, re-mixed, and produced by Steve Schenck and Richie Castellano to become 'Ghost Stories.' The two explain the album's amazing process HERE:
https://youtu.be/IzjxgU6OcPIWork in the studio for the album was completed by Richie Castellano along with remaining original members Eric Bloom and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, both Albert Bouchard and Rick Downey appear on drums with additional overdubs recorded by Joe Bouchard. All these original lineup members appearing on 'Ghost Stories,' create a musical journey that traverses decades.
To celebrate this exciting announcement, the band shares the single "So Supernatural" along with a new music video that has a super cool blend of classic rock and modern AI.

Is anyone else seeing this behavior, or is this just the civilized world's way of keeping Aussies at arm's length?
Actually, yes. Last night around appx 1:30 am EST I clicked on a thread to read, and was prompted to “Prove You’re a Human” by clicking on all the pics with bags 💼 in them. I managed to get them all on the first try and was allowed to proceed. I didn’t attempt to post anything. Dozed off before being able to post anything about it. 🤔

I haven’t liked, well, much of anything since their debut, but this is at least decent compared to previous releases.
