  1. "Three of the CDs I won were later confirmed multiple collectors as never issued to CD format. "

OK,so you were bidding on titles that were never actually issued as CDs.....

sounds like you were exactly what this seller was looking for...

I'm not trying to be an ass here, but seems like you kinda got yourself into this predicament.

  2. Just playing devil's advocate for a moment here...

If you pull up Sspert.hotmail.com's eBay info, you can see that until recently this person had always been a buyer, NEVER a seller(may not have been clear on selling guidelines). It appears as if he simply decided that he was going to sell his entire collection at once, and listed everything he had. This may simply be a case of the seller not thinking he was doing anything wrong, and literally listing EVERYTHING he had.

Either way, whether on purpose or by accident, it sucks for anyone involved in a transaction with this person; I'd probably hold onto my cash, and take my chances on the feedback if I truly thought I was paying top dollar for a CD-R.

  3. Gotta add Dirty Deeds - Real World & Danger of Infection to the list of good cheap CDs! Got both CDs offa eBay for less than $7,and these boys ROCK!

Melodic metal with influences ranging from Iron Maiden(who from what I gather kind of "mentored" the band)to Saxon; a real NWOBHM sound. I love this stuff! "Kill the Pain" is probably my favorite song so far, but they're all good. :banger:

These guys are now known as just "Deeds",and have a new website at:

    Deeds Homepage

*Got Outlaw Blood for 99 cents + s/h ,and am awaiting its delivery! :headbanger:

  4. Well, maybe I can put some folks minds at ease here.

I won the CD "Wanted:Kenny James - Hollywood CA" from broadwaysmusic, and since he/she had a high feedback rating with no negatives, I sent CASH to pay for my purchase. Within a week or so, I received positive feedback, and I received the CD in the mail today;as described! The only shame is that since the seller's account has been suspended, I couldn't leave he/she any feedback.

As far as I'm concerned, broadwaysmusic is A-OK!

  5. Oddly enough no, I believe it's a different singer on the second disc because Corabi had left to join Crue. Still that kinda down homw bluesy voice that Corabi has though. Good stuff, much more funky than Let it Scream.  :D

You sure its the same band?

I wasnt aware of a second album being released (although I am aware or an earlier band from Seattle called just Scream).

Any info on this album would be appreciated!

Yep, same band, with vocalist Billy Fogarty replacing Corabi who'd left to join the Crue. The CD was never released due to Hollywood Records going bankrupt in late '93/early '94. The track listing is(in no particular order, since it was never officially released):

    1. Ain't Got Nothin'

    2. Another Rock

    3. Comin' Down

    4. Get it Together

    5. Good Lookin' Out

    6. It's a Long Way Down

    7. Kick Back

    8. Kool world

    9. Love Can Conquer Anything

    10. Miss Thang

    11. One Foot in the Grave

    12. What You See

You can usually download the entire CD at : www.racerxband.com/scream

but the Racer X website is being re-done right now...hopefully when they get back up and running, the sound files will return.

  6. Been listening to :

Shag - S/T (I've seen 'em called a cross between early Van Halen & Aerosmith...I'll make it simpler...think of the Bulletboys singing Aerosmith songs....this is a REALLY good indie CD,glad I picked it up)

Mennen - Back to the Real World (Heavier than their S/T debut, but still melodic...can't go wrong with Joss Mennen)

    Dokken - Rares,B-Sides, Acoustics

This is a homemade "mix" cd that I did...track listing:

    Back For the Attack

    How Many Lives

    If the Good Die Young

    Upon Your Lips

    Sign of the Times

Only Heaven Knows (GREAT Song from the Japanese version of LWH)

  7. Would definitely include The Poorboys - Pardon Me as a favorite "cheap" disc now. Great bluesy hard rock in the vein of the Black Crowes, with a touch of twang! Picked it up for $1.99 offa eBay,and am VERY glad I did. Shame the Poorboys got lost amidst the grunge onslaught....good band.

  8. I know for a lot of folks here at HH, hunting down rare/obscure CDs is a passion(one that I'm getting into slowly as the wallet permits  ),but what about the other end of the spectrum? What are your absolute favorite CDs that you've picked up at eBay, Half.com,Amazon, etc... for around $5 or less.

Those little gems that were overlooked for whatever reason, but provide some serious bang for the buck music wise?

Here are some of my favorite "El Cheap-os"

    Radio Active Cats - S/T

    Katmandu - S/T

Disturbance - We Come Out At Night

    Rockhead - S/T

    Little Caesar - S/T

    Jet Red - S/T

Victory - Culture Killed the Native

The Screaming Jets - All For One

    Jesse Strange - S/T

What are some of everyone else's favorite cheap finds?

  9. Been on a tear here the last 24 hours! :P

    Been listening to:

Majesty - Open Your Eyes (Indie band kinda similar to Dokken;good stuff)

Vice - Second Excess (From what I've been told, the first Vice release is actually BETTER! If that's the case, I gotta get it, cause Second Excess ROCKS!)

Mennen - Mennen (Joss Mennen's group he formed after Zinatra...GREAT melodic metal!)

Dr. Sin - Shadows of Light (Gotta check out more from these guys!)

XYZ - Letter To God (Up there with Damn Cheetah & Pyn Siren as one of the best of 2003!)

Vicious Mary - Vicious Mary (Melodic metal at its best! Check these guys out if you haven't heard them!)

Wild Horses - Dead Ahead (Quite different from Bareback...this one is very bluesy in the Cinderella vein..I like it!)

Dokkken - Live From the Sun (Rokken with Dokken! :banger: )

Harem Scarem - Higher (The only CD I've gotten recently that I've been disappointed with. People are GUSHING over this one,and I just can't get excited over it...to each his own! )

  10. Let's see, been listening to these this week:

LA Blues Authority - This CD features hard rockers such as George Lynch,Fred Coury,Billy Sheehan, etc. doing blues songs. Im surprised at how much I'm enjoying this!

    Rough Cutt - Live

Damn, this is one rockin' live CD!

Funny Money - Skin to Skin

Pretty good from start to finish

  11. Some of the catchiest/most memorable choruses I know of...in no particular order:

Autograph - Turn Up the Radio

Beau Nasty - Paradise in the Sand

Black n Blue - Rock On

Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive

    Bulletboys - Smooth Up

David Lee Roth - Just Like Paradise

    Def Leppard - Paper Sun

    Dokken - Night By Night

    Extreme - Hole Hearted

    Frehley's Comet - It's Over Now

Iron Maiden - Stranger in a Strange Land

Union- Who Do You Think You Are

    Kiss - Heaven's On Fire

Saigon Kick - Love is on the Way

    Stage Dolls - Love Cries

Motley Crue - Too Young to Fall in Love

Mr. Big - To Be With You

    Poison - Stand

Queensryche - Last Time in Paris

    Quiet Riot - Trouble Again

    Ratt - I Want a Woman

Skid Row - Firesign (If you've never heard this song, I'd reccomend picking up "Subhuman Race" just to do so...in-freaking-credible!)

    Slaughter - Up All Night

Tigertailz - Love Bomb Baby (Catchy as hell!)

Twisted Sister - Wake Up the Sleeping Giant

    Vain - Laws Against Love

Van Halen - Love Walks In

    Warlock - All We Are

    Tyketto - Forever Young

Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

    Yngwie Malmsteen - Heaven Tonight

Hmmm, wish I could've thought of some more! ;)

Seriously though, when I think of the songs listed above, I don't think of a guitar solo,a bass line, a particular drum beat, or even the singer, it's the chorus, the words, and how well they flow. These songs, to me, have it going on!
