Well after receiving a rude, insulting, and barely decipherable PM from FAKEPOLICE, I've decided that he will no longer be joining us here on the board. I have no patience for his crap.
-Dan
Ah, too bad.
Now we won't hear any more re-BUTT-als from Slapass (or Slappy, for short.)
-
This thread has been awesome for the last 24 hours.
Yes it has, but I wish our new friend FAKEPENIS would come back and spew some more worthless babble for all of us dumbass US citizens.
Yeah, that helps keep this thing going.

Who does even wonder about this?????Nearly most rare stuff is bootlegged by Vegas/Retrospect and in Europe this person would have a comfortable seat in prison!
Anyway-who is interested in another MTM Re-Release with other cover.Seems that the former Label is not interested in a Re-Release like Universal did with Stage Dolls or Treat.
Sorry-but before buying a Re-Release with poor cover (see Peo!) or sound taken from record (Refugee)- I better keep my collection clean from such rubbish.
AND-don't buy it at once-you can be sure to get it cheap after some months-the AOR customship is much less
than the pressed CDs.
Ok while i feel i should just let this die, but then i read a statement by FP which can stand for alot of things, hahahaha.....You say i have no knowledge, ok that maybe true, but atleast i can remember statement i make........You need to read above, where you DID in fact say "Nearly most rare stuff is bootlegged by Vegas/Retrospect" ........So i think you need to get your own shit straight, now choke on that slapass.......

Dude just to answer your philosophical (or however it is spelled) question as to "why we all can't get along?" ......I have sat back and even responded to a few of these threads about "Sam/his label/some of his buisness dealings"........Every few months something pops up and as always the finger pointing starts, and guess where all the fingers get pointed........exactly right at Sam.........I am not a Sam "mark" and don't find it my place to defend Sam, he is a grown man and can do that himself........But what really gets me is it is always the same people starting up the same shit. Sam has admitted he has sold some boots, damn nuff said.......But to go as far to say "everything on his label are boots" now that is going far, especially when most have no idea about how much work he has put into the cd's he has gotten out there.......But you never hear anyone saying "Thanks Sam for the killer music you are getting out there to the fans, that otherwise would never see the light of day, much less on cd"........
Sam and I have done alot of business over the last several months, he has bought probably in the neighborhhood of 1200 cd's from me, and i have never had to worry about being paid etc, he always does exactly what he tells me he is going too. Now if someone was as underhanded as alot of people have made him out to be, do you think he would ever follow thru with any business dealings he makes......I think not.......Everyone is so concerned about him selling a boot, i know there are alot of other sellers from this board who have sold boots, claiming them to be originals, just because they didn't know there were boots, or some may have known and just played it off. Hell some probably do not even know how to tell a boot from an original.
In closing, I think people need to tend to their own business instead of trying to "police" everything Sam does......Be thankful for the music he is putting out, instead of trying to find things to stir up shit about. As I have said countless times, if you don't agree with his buisness dealings do not buy from him. People get pissed when he reacts the way he does (and sometimes i think he is a tad bit harsh and says some things he should think about before he says them) but when someone takes shots are your buisness, something you have worked very hard to make successful, it tends to piss you off, and everyone is going to respond in situations like that, maybe not to the extreme Sam does, but you are still going to react.........Lastly.....Like I said if you have a problem with how he runs his label and business, no one is twisting your arm to do business with him........He has always treated me very well, and I will continue to work and do business with him..........So there you have my thoughts on it all.............

GREAT THOUGHTS, LON!!

Praying for you and your family, Sam.

Touchy? This motherfucker is trying to say that Retrospect is a bootleg label?
Kiss my ass you prick , I'll give you emails of every fucking band on the label and you can find out how many royalty checks I send out every quarter.
I hope all involved will read this and not take offense:
Sam,
This dude is pushing your buttons (and doing a pretty good job at it, too.) He has obviously read your previous posts when you spaz out on people without much provocation (and threaten to kick them off ebay? Come on!). Please take a deep breath and look critically at your response. Things are tense for you now. Quick responses may not be in your best interest.
Plus, I hope you are only kidding when you say you will give contact info out (other than what may be found on a website, etc.)
FAKEPOLICE,
I don't know who you are or where you are from, but the "most everything on Retrospect are Bootlegs" comment sounds awfully close to libel. If I were you, I would be VERY cautious about sweeping accusations like this.
Any lawyers in the audience?
Anyway, lest anyone think that I am shill for Sam or for anyone else, I want to re-state my thoughts from another thread: I have had successful business dealings with several people on this board, and I cannot stand it when they just shred each other in threads. It casts doubt on EVERYONE's character - No one comes away unscathed.
In fact, I can think of 3 people right off the bat that I either am in regular contact with, or with whom I have had successful business dealings. Yet each of them has had p*ssing contests with Sam. This drives me up a wall. Oh, I have bought at least a hundred items off Sam over the past couple years, so it's not like I am unfamiar with his Retrospect items (take note, FAKEPOLICE). Between the other sellers on this board, I have bought several hundred additional items, as well.
If this keeps up I may have to start a "Dear Abby"- like advice column just to deal with all the silliness!
I guess what I am saying is this:
This is a great board. To quote a great philosopher... "Why can't we all just get along?"
-
Got nothing to do with me so I don't wanna hear it.
-
The Kidd Wikkid went for $170, which is several hundred less than it has been selling for, I believe.
-
I just had to go check and find out.
Yeah, nothing sold.
-
Also, something weird is going on right now. When I search his listings, the Kidd Wikkid cd does not come up for me. But when I hit the link you gave, it shows up. What's up with that?
That probably means the listing is too fresh and hasnt been updated to the active database yet, so you cannot see it with the search engine?
You are probably right. The search engine was not bringing it up last night, but now it is.
-
Well, just got an email through Paypal the the user will refund the money if I return the wrong CD. So maybe I'm jumping the gun but this seller sure isn't giving me any good vibes. I still think I'd be very careful bidding on his stuff. I'll update everyone once this is resolved.
Don't know if you can do this, but....
Personally, I would take the wrong cd to a notary public. Then sign a statement having him watch you place the cd in the package, seal it, then see if he has a stamp or something that he can affix over the seal, proving that you did not open it and substitute a different cd.
Upon quick glance, I am suspicious of this dude's auctions for a couple reasons:
1) He is selling boots - see Tryx and Heart Throb Mob
2) He uses 3 day auctions. Why would you do that with Kidd Wikkid????
3) He already has another copy of EMINEM-Slim Shady EP(1998)D12/Bizarre/RARE/OOP/MINT listed. The last one sold for $114.50 about 10 days ago. (Of course, he could have had a non-payer and had to relist.)

Just my thoughts....

Break Out Toniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigghhtttt!! Awesome song!!

Not really a lot that floats my boat here. Dio is a classic. From the rest i've gone with Yngwie but it's the best of a bad bunch for me.
Man, I gotta disagree wholeheartedly. There's a TON of great stuff listed.
It was tough, but I went with
Ratt
Krokus

I just received a large order from Ryan.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase, but I had two small issues:
1) His packaging leaves something to be desired. I always seem to lose a few jewel cases... But several sellers seem to have this problem.
2) Two of the cds were still in their plastic wrap, yet they had a few hairline scratches. How does that happen??
Still, as I said before, he offers tons of great music!

Lots of great music here!
But all others must bow before what I consider to be the GREATEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME:
DEF LEPPARD - HIGH AND DRY.

Awesome poll!!
pt 1:
Quiet Riot
Y & T
pt. 2:
Def Lep (of course!)

He's got a CD on eBay that I want but I know some people have had some issues with him lately (although I've bought from him in the past with no problem). Anyone have any comments? Thanks!
So....
Did you ever get that CD????
-
i will never buy of him again the shambles i had with the king kobra cd was enough for me
Sorry to hear you feel that way.
I just won several cds from him on ebay again. I seem to go "shopping" there every few months. He always has some new and interesting music.
If I have any problem, I will let everyone know.... but I doubt it based on past history.

Skid Row followed by Hysteria.

I've bought a ton of stuff from Ryan in the past, and it's always been a great experience. Do not hesitate at all.
me too...
same here.....

Never used Sentinel Steel. Thanks for the tip.

I still really like this cd.
I'll admit that it's not mind blowing material but it still beats the hell out of most the music that's on radio these days.
This is EXACTLY how I feel! I LOVE Tear the House Down!

Tomorrow is an excellent song. It is the only one that has stood out to me, however. Maybe I will have to give it another listen.
