Bought a number of CDs from me, had an issue with one CD and then filed a chargeback for the entire order (almost $100!). eBay melodic/AOR sellers: do NOT deal with this buyer- BLOCK HIM IMMEDIATELY- because he WILL take your money. He has NO CONSCIENCE and stops replying after a while because he is a coward and a con artist who abuses the Paypal buyer protection program.

Sorry to hear this Tony.......a few years ago, I had dealings with this same individual....very demanding. I blocked him. I'm pretty sure he is a lurker here on the forum as well....

I'm suprised no one besides G-man showed any interest in this disc/band. A real goody!
WOW!!!!! Let me say that again.....WOW!!! Stefan I have to agree with you......where is the interest? This band is tremendous. Killer stuff that is totally essential. I will stick my neck out here and declare in 5 or 6 years this CD will be a total collector's piece fetching huge money. This CD is getting very little recognition and should be on the top of every collector's list......Don't wait and be sorry!!!

Now...a topic that really floats my boat...and should be considered, is adding cassette or vinyl releases. I literally own hundreds upon hundreds of cassette and vinyl only releases that should be included on a website called 'heavy harmonies'. It ALWAYS amazes me at the silliness that people think the only good music that came out was on CD.....it's absolutely laughable. I have so many bands' cassette and vinyl releases that DESTROY the 'hyper rare' CD releases it isn't even funny. So, I would definitely be 'all in' at adding those types of releases.
Do we allow digital only releases also? I assume some bands are doing that now..
LOL...hell....I wouldn't mind starting with cassettes and vinyl....to get digital only releases would be difficult to some degree...maybe??
I have to agree with Jim.....there are a tremendous amount of vinyl and cassettes that are totally applicable to what the folks here want to hear and obtain.

I'm softening on the whole "only CDs!" policy. The only thing I would request is that when non-CD releases are added, that there be a note below the members section to the effect that "This album was only released on cassette/vinyl/8-track."
On the genres, I'm going to sit back and see what the consensus is, although I don't honestly expect there to be one. One person's definite inclusion is another's opening the gates to dilution hell...
Well......I have to agree that there should be some softening on the "only CDs" policy.......here's my take. There are an extraordinary amount of collectable bands out there that released material on cassette only......in addition, it appears that many of us are, or have been, collecting demos by well know bands over the years that also have been extremely in demand. What better place to become aware of all this wealth of material than on HH. One added note, there are already a number of items listed here that were available only on Cassette and never on CD. As an example "RAWKON"!!!
Finally, as originally asked by Mike, I have no objections to adding those classic bands. Here's why. I noticed you have Momas Pride on there. They released an indie CD that is very different than their classic stuff on CD back in 1996 here in the St Louis area. I have the CD and thought several times about posting it to the site (as it should be included). It is melodic Rock.
So that's my thoughts on this.....................

Been watching and doing a ton of reading......Alpha Male, you have really put together one amazing thread with some killer info.....
Quick question...????
Have you got any info as to band members and what instruments they played on these bands:
Temper Temper
Easy Mickey (besides Guierri)
Rogues Choir
These bands all seem very familiar sounding to me.....gotta dig through my demos and see what all I've got there. I've got several of the bands demos and a couple of CDs by groups you've posted. I never realized that the Baltimore area was so densely populated with such killer bands!!!! LOL!!
-
They did the Grace album on CD as well, so you can grab both. I transferred the vinyl "Warriors of Love" years ago to a CDR and listen to it occasionally.......it was the beginning of their "rock" period as a band and was a very decent album IMO!
-
Can anyone tell me if this reissue is a silver pressed CD or a factory CDR?
Thanks!

Damn.... sounds fucking killer!!!
I can't wait to hear the whole fucking disc!!!
Yep!
I'm standing in line too.........................
-
Will need to hear sounds from this one first to make a call. I feel neither here nor there about it until I hear what it's all about.
Agree
yep, same for me.......I have my ups and downs with these two guys............sometimes it works and sometimes no so well!
-
Been hearing a lot of good vibes on this one.....my copy just arrived today in the mail, so I'm anxious to give it a good listen this afternoon.
-
Looks interesting................anxious to hear some samples!!
Sounds like a bit of a mixed bag. I did hear at least one gem in there, though. Possibly just that one, though...
Once again......I have to agree. I guess I am just expecting too much anymore?
-
Not bad. I'd like to hear the album to decide what to think of them.
Agree Geoff......one thing that disturbs me about new stuff............where is that song, that certain melody or chorus that grabs and pulls my chain? So much of what I hear is surely well done, but so much also sounds like so much I've heard over and over. It almost seems as though I have to replay a new disc over a number of times to really get into it anymore........
Am I in a slump here?
-
Certainly some potential. Would like to hear more, especially something a bit more upbeat!
-
I like "Let Love Rule". Very much so.
That one caught my attention as well........I think when you refer to "soft" you are describing melodic rather that hard edged stuff. This isn't soft as one would expect with "West Coast" for an example.
So far, for me, the album appears to be a 50-50. Not absolutely solid, but worth getting for some of the material.

I didn't realise there was demo versions of anything other than Breaking the silence (which I already had)
Is Emergency the other demo? Is the solo slightly different?
Demo Versions of:
Breaking The Silence
A Shot At Redemption
Emergency
Also The Japanese bonus track "Shame"
She's Like The Wind
Under Your Skin

Just received a Japanese pressing of "Tearing Down The Walls" the tour edition with 2 CDs. Glad I picked this up.....the second CD has demo versions of a number of the final tracks plus 2 other bonus tracks. All in all, a worthwhile investment.
-
Received my Japanese pressing this week and it is very interesting. Some tracks are really grabbing my ear. I did note a big difference in the mix of the track "Loner" on the final pressing compared to the demo. I believe I like the demo version better. The vocals are more pronounced and vivid.
-
Yes, I get my Japanese pressings from CD Japan. I just ordered this CD and the total was $ 26.27 with air mail postage. Not bad
-
Awesome sounding samples there....................can't wait. Any info on release date?
From FB:
State of rock release in Europe 25/9 in Japan 19/8
Thanks Stefan.......I gotta get my order in for the Japanese pressing...........
-
Very energetic stuff......but, just not melodic enough for me.
-
Nothing spectacular, but does have some interesting moments........this one sits on the fence with me right now. I'll have to listen to the samples a few times to make an ultimate decision.

Got to agree with Geoff, nothing really pulled my chain around......1 or 2 tracks had potential!
-
Very ordinary sounding......nothing here pulls my chain.

One of my favorite bands and singer.....have all of their previous releases in Japanese pressings with bonus tracks, so hope they continue doing so with this release
