This is not either of the Hard Knox bands that are listed here on the main site. I think the one Hard Knox who released "Psychos R Us" was from Utah. The other Hard Knox band released "Combat Alley" in 2002 on Perris Records, was based in Tennessee.

    This is Baltimore's HARD KNOX:

    Ross Hancock: Vocals

    Jimi Tant: Guitars

    Paul Bobbin: Bass

    Chris Heuer: Drums

    Tracklist:

    1. Where Did I Go Wrong

    2. Sleeping Alone

    3. Take Me Away

    4. Who'll Take My Place

    Extras:

    Sleeping Alone (rough mix)

    Take Me Away (rough mix)

Where Did I Go Wrong (rough mix)

    Who'll Take My Place (Live)

    Wind (Child's Play cover) (Live)

    Thanks!!

  2. Even with this massive Country vibe, Andrew still gave this one a 100% review over at MR.com. I'm sure it's good, but with the prices of cds and shipping, I'll most likely pass on it and play it online.

This 100% review doesn't get me too excited, it seems pretty much all releases from Rick Springfield, Mr.Big, Journey, Toto and Eclipse get between 98% and 100% on MR.com...me thinks Andrew is a fanboy.

I agree....and, to me, his reviews are biased in that respect. I'm sure every reviewer has a bias....it's only human nature, so I don't really pay attention to his reviews for some releases as his tastes in music aren't quite in line with mine. I do use his reviews to a lesser degree to get explanations of tracks, etc. His overall ratings often don't mean too much to me. I do appreciate them though.

Now...a topic that really floats my boat...and should be considered, is adding cassette or vinyl releases. I literally own hundreds upon hundreds of cassette and vinyl only releases that should be included on a website called 'heavy harmonies'. It ALWAYS amazes me at the silliness that people think the only good music that came out was on CD.....it's absolutely laughable. I have so many bands' cassette and vinyl releases that DESTROY the 'hyper rare' CD releases it isn't even funny. So, I would definitely be 'all in' at adding those types of releases.

Do we allow digital only releases also? I assume some bands are doing that now..

LOL...hell....I wouldn't mind starting with cassettes and vinyl....to get digital only releases would be difficult to some degree...maybe??

  4. I'm not too concerned on adding classic rock type bands......the problem is with people's definition of what AOR and 'classic rock' is. And this has been going on for some time. AOR to Europeans is different that that of people in the US...and that is different than others. I see it all the time. So, that in and of itself presents issues. The simple fact is that a lot of people think that AOR is anything with a guitar, drums and bass with the song structure mentioned on the front of the site. Hell...people of different ages have different definitions. And do they need to be 'heavy'??!! Bands that were mentioned early on in the thread like Mountain...should definitely be included....'heavy harmonies'...by definition. When you start getting into Pink Floyd and Genesis and Kenny Loggins.....none of those would be considered 'heavy'......in my opinion. It's such a broad base of music when you start getting into that kind of thing.

In the end, it's a decision Dan will have to make taking into consideration what he wants his database to reflect....and the parameters that he sees fit. I'll agree to whatever he choses!

Wow....this is an amazing topic/thread!!! As I've been collecting demos of unsigned bands for over 25 years this is an amazing list of ones that I need to look into. I have a few of the ones featured in this thread....but, damn....there are a TON I don't have or have ever heard of!!! Thank you so much for posting these!! And, if you happen to own any of these.....I would always entertain paying for them.

So what ones do you have that I have posted? Very interested in hearing them if I don't already have them.

Sinclair, Riff Raff, Lethal Lipstick, Quade, Skin & Bones, Vaudeville, Peking Opera, Sly Boots, Kage...and some others....

  6. He may have been referring to the chicks in the video!!! LOL Awesome video......hottt chicks....no doubt! Song is cool too. Terry.....where is all of this Eastern European stuff coming from?! Nice finds!

  7. Play Rough is awesome.....was friends with Rawleigh (lead singer) for many years back in the 90's. Have both of their demos transferred professionally to CD. Love them!!

Erotic Suicide is a good one too.....they veer a little towards sleazier hard rock...but would put them in with some of the other bands you mentioned.

Fashion Police is another one I'd recommend.

Lipstick is an extremely rare but great one too.

  9. Hey, Jared!

I appreciate the concern, but I'm doing well! While we've had an inordinate amount of rain in the Houston area, we have not had the severe weather/tornadoes that have hit some parts of the state. I have projects up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that have been impacted by adverse weather since Thanksgiving! But, no......we're all good down here!

    Keep rockin'!!
