  1. Pulled it out and am listening to it as I type.......

    Songs listed:

    1. Nothin' from the Mojo

    2. What if I Told

    3. Gun

First off...the demo is WELL produced and engineered. Great sound......has a Zeppelin vibe, albeit heavier......

First song (the one you love) has a great chug riff and has some swagger. Excellent vocalist.

Track two starts off with a cool acoustic guitar and slides along in quick tempo with an Extreme vibe....some smooth gang vocals and a sweet melody.

Track three starts off acoustically again and builds up and then kicks in big time. This is a rawkin' track.

Surprised they didn't put out more tuneage.....good stuff.

  2.

I own the Zen Boy demo cassette.....I can check it for any info you may need.

Looks like you've got a rare one there.

    What's it like?

I'll have to break it out and listen to it again, as I haven't heard it in 15-20 years. I do remember that it came out in like....93 or so, and the mix of grunge and hard rock was starting to filter in on bands. There's wasn't grunge sounding.....but I can't place their sound. I'll listen to it and report back with song titles, etc. I got it because they were listed in the Rock on the Rise section of Metal Edge. I bought every band's demo that way back then....lol

  3. This is a cool topic....and, yes....due to the nature of my love for music (like most here) it is extremely difficult to nail down 10 because my tastes cross genres, etc. but......here goes...not picking ten..lol:

Duran Duran - Save a Prayer

    OMD - Secret

Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now

Adam Ant - Desperate but Serious

Gary Numan - Down in the Park

    Enya - Only Time

Nine Inch Nails - Terrible Lie

Autograph - Send Her to Me

    Dokken - Sleepless Night

    Ratt - Lay It Down

    KISS - Love Gun

Von Groove - House of Dreams

Loverboy - Gangs in the Street

Hardline - In the Hands of Time

    Disciple - Game On

Story of the Year - Antidote

The Academy Is.....- Summer Hair = Forever Young

Kill Hannah - Lips Like Morphine

  4. For me Scared is an OK song.

Agree that there are MANY better including the 3 listed above.

Pissed is a killer album. Shits all over the first 2 for me.

r*tist is also amazing IMO, but most won't agree.

I always think people lump it in the same categories as The Elder, Belly To Belly, Chinese Democracy etc.

Alternative vibe to it, but if you take away the surrounding songs, some really stand out like Heard It All, Transmission, Better To Die and of course Cure the Sane :)

Truer words have never been spoken......the Pissed album is monstrous!! I think of Strange and Promise the Moon right off the top of my head as tunes that just totally rawk......of course the title track is a monster too. Such a great underrated and overlooked album!

  5. This album was a monster! Not a bad track....loved it! In fact, this, along with, Wildside and Killer Dwarfs, all came out around the same time and were just in constant rotation back then. I remember watching Metal Edge and the other mags for subesequent releases from Von Groove and was totally excited to get each new release from them. To me, they were a great band....and....are definitely one of the bands I would love to see (and hear) release new albums!

  6. This is just odd....lol......as for the Enuff Z'Nuff debate about who, which, when.....I love the first album with Strength and Animals not far behind.

The thing with Enuff Z'Nuff is that when they lost their 'edge' sound-wise they went towards a more pop/Beatles vibe than the more rocking/metallic elements of their initial material. That's when I started to get a little disgruntled with them. They were writing good 'songs'...but they weren't kicking me in the butt. They were more pop than metal at that time...and I kind of didn't like that. They lost Frigo and I think that edge left with him. They still write a good catchy tune....but they don't 'rock' anymore, to me.

As for having Monaco or Chip sing....no way....Vie has too much of a signature vocal for it to work. Kind of like Autograph using Simon Daniels as their singer when you just can't replace Steve Plunkett.

  7. I don't care one way or the other.....but, it seems that maybe if it does happen it will only be for the remaining shows on their current tour. That way Guns N Roses can then do their thing after. I don't see this, if it does happen, as a permanent thing at all.

I think what AC/DC may be thinking is that to give their 'fans' their money's worth, they'll use someone like Axl and maybe that will appease their base?? I dunno...but I can see them thinking that.....not sure it will work...or is the right thing, but I can see them going down that path.
