  1.

Just for the sake of playing along......Hardline "Hands of Time"..........

This might be the Hardline tune I've listened to the most. I always thought it was the absolute best closing track.

It evokes such great emotion from me.....I never tire of it and it has all of the elements of a great song to me.

  2. Ok.....listened to the entire album about three times and what could have been a great album is just a 'good' album.

The thing that irritates me in the modern era of music is the produced drum sounds......the drums on this record, in places, sounds like it came from my Garage Band app on my phone. With mostly the cymbal crashes, high hat noises and the ride cymbal just being completely annoying during certain songs. Using these just detracts from an album so much to me. Spend the money.....use a real kit.....or just use LESS of the produced drum sounds.

Overall, I'd give the album an 80 or so.......

Oh..."Give Me a Reason" is a GREAT song.....GREAT....**and does it remind you that it could have been written by AdrianGale?**

  3.

Do you mean Travis Wyrick?! He's a great producer...and was also in cool glam band Sage.....

Nah, I know him and yes, he is good at his craft too. But Aaron Sprinkle would probably have produced 10 times more albums than this guy.

For some reason I didn't catch that you were asking if Disciple used that guy.........but, yes...they have used Wyrick quite a bit. Not sure which bands Sprinkle did, but I'll go take a look see...

  4. Thanks mate, love them both (Natives & Rivers Monroe). I'll check them out asap. Where do you find out about bands like these? These are the types of bands I am 100% sure I am missing out on in mass numbers per year but I don't know how to rectify it.

Only this week I found out Pillar (in 2015) and Quietdrive (in December 2014) released new albums that I knew nothing of until this week. Two bands I am very fond of. I hate missing stuff like that, but where do you keep on top of all this type of stuff?

And Pillar's rocks big time....in fact, I just picked it up like a month ago myself. Didn't know a thing about it either until I was on Amazon.....

  5. It was alright.....the thing with Gioeli seems to be that he can't get away from singing like he does in Pell. I think it's extending the notes of words, or something....but that kind of puts me off a little. I don't mind it in Pell...but not sure in Hardline. Hell....maybe he just sings that way all the time now.... I dunno...

Will see what the rest of the album sounds like.....

  6. I'm a huge New Wave and Synthpop guy and have been collecting and finding obscure and new bands all the time. I'll start a list of some really great ones and you guys can check 'em out. Maybe someone who is good at posting youtube videos (Stefan...lol..:-D) Can even throw some of them on here....

These are a few of my favorites......I think if you love synthpop, you'll love them....check 'em out!!!

  7. Not sure what people expect from BJ these days? The guy is gettin on now so hes never going to write another NJ or SWW.

About as rocking as youll get i reckon - I'm not a great fan of the lyrics tho.

With people like Michael Sweet and a myriad of other rockers who are "gettin' on" now (I'm assuming you meant aging...?), I don't think this comment holds water. I don't think age has anything to do with it......I think he's found his commercial niche and sticks right around where it's the safest. That band could easily write another album that is similar to those.......he just chooses not to....

He has always wanted to be Bruce Springsteen or Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, etc...........and while he could have been that and still chose to add one or two really rockin' songs to each album....once again, he chose not to......

He basically has foresaken his early fans for the fans post 1995..........why? He would probably give some insipid answer about maturing and growth, etc.....which...to me...is bullshit. I think, in the end, maybe he was never truly a real 'rock guy'.......or......he thought that his financial future meant changing to a more safe and friendly radio ready environment??

  8. I think that to satisfy both sides of this equation simply create a new band Section of the forum. I enjoy the posts of all of the bands people have discovered....but, I can see the point of others not being able to be bothered. Simply create a new Section.......those people that don't want to be bothered will not have to go in there and those that do...will....
