Dead Planet
From MBM's site 2016, Headless is the new vehicle for ex-Yngwie J. Malmsteen singer Göran edman and the band is described as playing a blend of Queensryche style classic metal and hair metal with a progressive injection that is helped by the guest appearance of guitarist Jim Matheos from Fates Warning. The opener ,,So Much Of A Bore" is all over the place, but things get steadier on ,,Good Lock Resized" which has a razor sharp riff an catchy melody, and then ,,Melt The Ice Away" gets proper heavy. ,,Frame" brings it down a place with a prog like slow bumer and ,,Shortage" shows us some modern metal that jabs and weaves around the melody, until ,,A Senseless Roaring Machine" goes dark with some heavy prog metal. Power metal gets a go on ,,Stillness Of The Heart", then some more prog with ,,Gather Knowledge Gather Wisdom" and ,,When Dreams And Past Collapse". This is a real departure for Edman, because you have only really heard him sing melodic metal and the classic stuff by Yngwie J. Malmsteen.
