  1. I've given it a few spins now. There appears to be too much acoustic guitar for me and not enough riffage!

But but but....I CAN"T HEAR ANY BASS GUITAR!!!

Is it my iTunes download that sucks or the production?

I was trying to put my finger on what was lacking! I put UFO's new one on straight after and wow...what a difference! UFO's is big punchy and warm.

  2. I know bass player, Johnny Rodd could be a bit of a clown on stage but for me, they have never been the same without him. He pretty much shared vocal duties with Blackie back in the day (although not on the live album of that period for some reason)!

Saying that though, Helldorado was a slight return to form.

  3. Somebody mentioned Vain!!

'Enough Rope' is like the last twenty tears never happened! Great album!!! FM's return album is pretty good and retains their quality of their peak.

It's a good topic, I can never understand why bands like Maiden can't write another 'Number of the Beast' and Def Leppard can't write another 'Photograph'! They are not complex songs! Perhaps they just don't want to?!

    Maiden are bad these days

Def Leppard are bad these days

Poison are shockingly bad these days

Whitesnake lack something for me compared to the late eighties.

Anyone know is the latest Bang Tango album is worth getting?

  4. I thought Push were a quality band but I sort of stood on my own.

Yeah, not sure you're right there, mate. Far as I know the Push albums had a good reputation. I loved them too. The horrible production job on the 3rd album was a killer, because that was a great CD. But the first 2 were great, and 'Waiting in the line' and 'Heart is an empty space' are two of my favourite songs from the last decade or so.

Gotta be honest - I can't play the new full song, but I can play the other 3 excerpts. Does not sound good to me. Very mellow, almost a slight country vibe. I liked the MPG discs, but I wish Push just got back together and blessed us with more Push music.

I agree. I was so disappointed with the production quality on the third album. Especially after the polished job on the second. But the songs were pretty good. I really liked the title track and especially 'Black Candles'.

  5. The new album is as hooky and as immediate as the first album no doubt, but its not as good as the debut.

Its certainly a band that is growing, but I am afraid that with the obvious Lep and Jovi influences creeping in, that they may end up losing the sound that grabbed people on the first album.

I love Lep and Jovi, but when I listen to Reckless Love I want to hear Reckless Love.

Certainly going to be one of my top albums of the year, but its not overhauled the Alice Cooper one as I thought it would.

I cant really hear Leppard on it!

After two listens, I would describe it as Euro-Halen.

  6. These guys are awesome, they remind me of a more melodic Crashdïet. But the new single "Hot" is pretty lame if I recall correctly. I hope the album will be better.

...I believe both bands are at Hard Rock Hell!!! Cant wait

  7. I hope they have lost the behind-the-bike-sheds humour (I can't think of the British equivalent to 'Forth Grade').

Funny for 5 minutes. Music is good. Stick to playing rock!

I saw them at The Viper Room when they were Metal Shop and they slayed when they played covers!

  8. I think Chip only sings live from time to time, not on record.

When I saw them a couple of weeks ago, Donnie was a bit forceful with his mic, and pulled the lead out, so Chip sang the song for a while until Donnie fixed it (well actually, Donnie fixed it, then jokingly sat down for 30 seconds or so, facing Chip, pointing at him while he sang)

I spose EZN could sort of be classed as dual vocalists as Monaco was with the band as guitarist before Donnie left, and then replaced him on vocals.

Although they never shared vocals, it could be classified as dual vocalists at a stretch.

I think Chip has sung on some E Z N studio songs. And I believe he actually sung the original demo 'New Thing'.

  10. Looks like they'll be looking for a fourth Ron Taylor sound-a-like...

"Lillian Axe are looking for a new singer. Ronny Munroe has quit less than four months after joining the Louisiana band. The frontman cites commitments to other projects as the reason for his decision."
