Funny, I was just listening to this record today. Great album. They were great at Z-Rock in Manchester in 2001 I think it was.
-
In comes Romero and crushes the old songs. Throw out the Aussie lad. Romero should be the singer of Gotthard if they even continue after this monster of album. Especially the new song Walk on water is the best song from Leoni since Steve Lee left us, RIP. This is how Gotthard should sound like today. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love Steve Lee but Romero really pays tribute to Mr. Lee. He sings his lungs out on this album.

Yeah, Thailand is odd. Hopefully they're doing a guest spot on the new Silly Fools album while they're there? But . I assume those guys are long, long gone.
Anyway, HEAT instil an excitement in me that only very few current bands do. I am really, really excited to hear what they can come up with next. Can't wait.
It is probably because Tobias is doing work regularly In Thailand. I'll think he has a house down there. So I don't think it's that strange.

It's a Swedish band. A former college is singing for the band now. He is the former singer in Event Horizon X and Air Raid. Actually he did everything in Event Horizon X.
-
Didn't they got a few songs on that teen tv-show Degrassi High long time ago (in the end of the eigthies I believe). That show must have been canadian. But I imagine that was not a hit in Canada. It was fairly big in Sweden. Quite hilarious show back in the days.
-
This is a great new song with a new great Swedish group assisted here by Pontus Snibb from Bonafide. One of mates has written and produced the song.
-
Great song. Really love the guitars in the chorus. That is old school queensryche. And a production that sounds more from the old queensryche era. An even better chorus and the song would have been a real monster.
-
Yep, he is... He has done a fairly good solo album as well
-
Im not even going to listen to this. Thats how dead Gotthard are to me.
I'm inclined to agree with you. I still haven't heard "Firebirth," and doubt I ever will.
I must admit I found Andrew's review of this album (Bang that is).. very strange - he seemed to talk down at least a third of the tracks in the body of the review but still gave it 90% ??!
What would Lipservice be then? 130%
Absolutely hilarious comment and so true. I was in tears when I read it Glen. ;-)))

If you have a chance to see these guys live don't hesitate. Just buy the ticket pronto. I saw them last weekend and the are soo good live. It probably will not be a show as Nottingham, since that was just breathtaking, again but they always put on a great show.
-
The best song IMO is Point of no return.
-
samples for the whole album - really good. The last bonus track is quite hilarious,,,
-
last thing I heard (or read) he moved out to UK to study abroad, or maybe there is some quarrel between em, don't know for sure
And I also heard that he found love in UK and that was the main thing to live abroad in the UK

Not long now until all hell's breaking loose. I really can't wait. It's gonna be a hell of a weekend. Heavens Edge will make me weep like a little child!!! Come play the game

Great song, This band never let you down. Great to see them at Firefest!!!

One of my favorite songs from the start of the power metal era from Germany. From the very underrated album Hyper-trace from the band German Scanner. Pure Power metal bliss.
-
This very good as well:
-
I wonder which side Degarmo would choose if had to.
-
I don't think it is that bad. I like these song and few others on the album. I think it will grow. Too many slow songs IMO. I really like the singer, he has a great voice. He makes the whole so much better.

Even If I'm still cheering for Canada, this is freakin' awesome. Why can't Canada do stuff like this? I know because our music scene is in the toilet!
Hands down my fav song which I don't understand the lyrics. Although I'm guessing the title is 'All For One And One For All'. Glad to see this one is a bonus track on the new one...and not a filler by any means.
I may be Canadian, be seeing Lundquist in the video still got me excited.
My fav hockey player of all time is a Swede...Mats Naslund.
'All For One And One For All' is the exact translation. Sure you don't have a small part in you that is Swedish . This is actually the swedish hymn for the World Championship that is playde mainly in Sweden. They play some games in Finland as well. It's actually one of the better songs like this IMO.

RIP....
One of my favorite producers of the eighties. The House Of Lords albums are just great production work.
-
Brilliant release IMO. Maybe not as great as Pandemonium. A few thoughts after listening to it number of spins.
The keyboards are brilliantly arranged and played. Best I've heard for along time in this type of music.
The production is simply amazing.
It's hard to believe that Mr Atkins is an middle aged man this days.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Oh yeah, guys, I definitely prefer 'SOPSOT.'
Near-perfect / perfect songs in the Heaven's Edge discography:
Find Another Way
Bad Reputation
Come Play the Game
Rock Steady
Some Other Place, Some Other Time
Jacky
Back Seat Driver
Call My Name
And more to the point, I love every single (of the first 10) songs on the 'SOPSOT' disc. It's an extremely complete album.
I truly love the debut, but stuff like 'Skin to skin,' 'Up against the wall,' 'Can't catch me,' 'Daddy's little girl,' 'Is that all you want' and 'Don't stop don't go' - not one of those songs compares to anything on the second album. FYI, I cut the second album off after 'Roller Coaster' as the remaining tracks are evidently from a different recording era.
But song for song, if I'm being honest, 'SOPSOT' kinda annihilates the great debut.
Jesus, you're killing me! Please tell me this is an early April Fools joke? Did you say Call My Name is perfect. Oh man...
I'm sorry buddy but you have lost your mind. Song for song it's not even close.
Anyone smell a poll coming?
The debut is in another league for me. Don't stop don't go, 'Can't catch me' ist not great IMO. But Geoff "Mr. Ballad man", you must love HOld on to tonight since that is one hell of a rock ballad. ;-)

Someone in the band needs to get their pre ST album demos released. Lots of killer tunes that need to be heard. I love Some Other Place as well but the St album is a true gem with ZERO filler.
There's a demo collection called Missing Pieces with a lot of great songs. Some of them was released on the Rock Candy re-issue and the US-press of the SOPSOT album. There is also a version of the Bad reputation song with a different arrangement. BUt the best song on that collection IMO is called eyes of a stranger and is a monster song. I can post it if someone tells me how to do it.
Anybody knows where are they now ?
They will play at the Firefest this year. They have made a couple of reunions in the past and they still sounds great. I will probably cry like a child when see them at Firefest.

One of my favorite releases of all time. Bought the album when it was released on vinyl.
They are working on new material with Clifford!! Heard an interview on Youtube with Wexler and Clifford. Seems like the original band is onboard.
