oh my god this album is going to kick so much ass

That's a decent song. I don't remember their first album being that guitar-driven but maybe I'm wrong.

uggh ,what's with these cover albums. are they really needed.
Easy way to fulfill contract obligations

You know, I'd much rather have a Peterik/Scherer follow-up than this. I don't know how different the songwriting would be but this formula of Hitchcock signing operatically over plodding soft rock instrumentation has gotten very old very quickly, IMO.

Not bad.
That dude is playing the shit outta those keys, but can anyone hear them? Maybe it's just my phone speakers.
Not during the verse. It's either a "dirty" tone that's extremely low in the mix orrrrrrr just a show for the video lol
Regardless, good song

The title track "Scorched"
Good god that fucking rips.
IMO their best album since The Electric Age, I can't believe how great they still sound. Definitely gonna make a few album of the year lists in the metal community.

A lot of contemporary melodic rock/AOR bands try to capture the vibe of the '80s with themes of young love and love lost, summer, night drives through the city, etc.
Nobody does it like this band. The passion is still there for these dudes, it's clear as day.

Single from the upcoming The Midni- err I mean Costal album.

That's ADV by the numbers. Joey has a really nice voice though, I hope they feature him on more stuff in the future.

For me it was the opposite. I've spent some time recently going back to both of their albums and for me the debut has aged better than the 2nd album.
I guess for me the debut just holds my attention better throughout and just feel like it has more variety and more interesting songs. The second one starts out great with the first 5 songs but kind of loses me a bit in the second half.
Both are still good though and the new one is really sounding good to me from the samples.
I agree with you, the debut is more consistent from start to finish. Zokusho hits the same highs but also has a couple songs that are skips for me, can't say the same about the debut.

1. Creye - III
2. ???
Expecting The Defiants to be awesome and Vega should be good too, but other than that not much I've heard has stood out.
Unless, of course, you count EPs, in which case LeBrock knocked it out of the park once again...

Well, it's definitely a Jim Peterik song.
It doesn't do much for me, though.

The art on that album cover gives me mixed feelings. The car and the landscape look great, but the band look awful.
lol, it's cheesy but I think they've got a good sense of humor about things. They were poking fun at themselves on the previous two album covers as well.
The song is great, as expected. Good choice for a single. Laine sounds amazing and the riff rocks hard.

So I was listening to this album...
And I realized that I like pretty much everything Mike Slamer is credited with producing.
Dennis Ward is another obvious choice for me.
How about you?

Some of my favorites

I was listening to Chemistry on my drive to work this morning and what do I see when I open YouTube? It's part of a new EP, hell yeah!
They don't miss.

Is he still with Frontiers? If not, that might be the reason for the name change.
That's a good point. I know he has been leaning further and further into AOR territory since signing there but I still prefer his earlier synthwave work. It would be nice to keep the cheesy horror themes under a different moniker.

New Kiile. One of the best producers in the genre right now IMO.

Apparently this song was written by Anders Wikström of Treat.

I actually really dig that. '80s vibe for sure.

Death, Rush, Carcass, and Helloween should have been on there. I know this is basically just a list of most popular metal songs that happen to also have a music video but c'mon, that's writing out a major chunk of the genre's history.
Also, my days of arguing over what is metal and what is not are long behind me, but Evanescence??? Might as well include Linkin Park, Disturbed, and Nickelback, too...

The first song sounded like HoL until the guy started singing - great pipes but obviously not at all similar to James Christian. The second song is ADV by the numbers and I'm guessing was written long before this project was conceived.
Probably gonna pass on this one.

So it's an Alessandro del Vecchio album.
