Yes, Strandell is everywhere. And I personally just don't like his vocals. I don't know why exactly...Just too accented or something. Once that sort of thing bothers you it's hard to unhear it.
Too bad as the music itself here is fantastic and Nick Hogg is clearly super talented and knows how to nail the 80's vibe. And happy for him he got signed to Frontiers.
But for me, their first 2 albums were my favorites.
I don't like them either and it's for the same reason I grew tired of Toby Hitchcock's vocals. Everything is just so over-the-top, there's no variety in his singing, and after a while the vocal theatrics just get boring. The song is OK but there's nothing vocally that makes me want to listen to it again.

Well, the intro was cool.
Not sure if I like the rest of it lol

It's a very consistent album IMO. Perhaps it doesn't hit the highs of their previous two but I don't think there are any weak songs on here. Pretty easy listen to it all the way through.
I'm guessing the new Vega clears it though.

New Wolfclub album out today.

Pretty by-the-numbers for them. The guitar harmonies after the solo were a nice touch though.
It's also nice to hear they got the production right again.

I don't think that was a good choice for a single.

QuoteHi everyone! It’s our unfortunate duty to tell you that our band One Desire has cancelled all activity this summer and ahead due to various extended issues and cooperative complications with our lead singer. We are very sorry for all the inconvenience this may cause you.

I like it when artists have a sense of history and have a detailed knowledge of the past greats.
I agree. He can come across as preachy but I'll always listen to what he has to say because he's a genuine fan and knows his roots. I think it's cool when a musician who influenced a generation talks about the musicians who influenced their own generation.

It always amuses me when some random person on the internet says "so-and-so in band XYZ wouldn't approve." How the fuck would you know? lol

Nice song, good chorus. One of those bands where you know EXACTLY what you're getting before you listen, but not in a bad way.
Also, I can't believe Scheepers still has that incredible range after all these years...

Same.
I don't hate Miracle...It's okay I guess. But I've taken that song out of the Spotify playlist as it's pretty boring and a momentum killer.
The album flows much better with that song removed IMO.
Agreed 100%

My song of the year, so far.

Wow, I was not expecting that. The atmosphere is a lot more subdued than what I'm used to from them, it almost sounds like a modernized Strangeways before it bursts into the typical big Degreed chorus. I like it!

I'm not 100% on this but I believe Magic Dance is named after the David Bowie song.

Okay, yeah, that's pretty good! It's definitely still "them" which for me is a good thing. I don't know if I agree with the label's comments because their last album was pretty "muscular" sounding (and they were definitely firing on all cylinders for that one too!) but I guess it gets difficult to come up with new press fluff when a band gets this far into their careers, lol.
Looking forward to hearing more!

Wow, he really sounds like Jimi Jamison on that one.

Listened to it on my morning...Drive...today.
They killed it. Again. Nothing more to say, really.

Better than the Detroit Lions, I hope.

Tooany songs.
Also I was hoping for 'a lot like Rock Of Life'
😔
I don't think we can say there are too many songs until we hear them. Yeah it's way longer than a typical melodic rock album but I think it's cool how old-school artists like Rick are embracing the benefits of modern music distribution, i.e. not limiting an album to 11 or 12 songs because that's the norm for CDs.
-
No more Martin brothers in the band, right? I'm somewhat concerned about that.
-
Wow, that was a lot better than I expected. Martensson has a great ear for melody (and he's a terrific producer as well, sonically everything he does sounds great) so it's nice to hear a song like this from him. I dig it.

2 for 2. Highly anticipating this one.

And he hasn't played bass during live shows since...?
