  1. Love this band. Their debut is still my favourite. If I were to rate my 10 favourite songs I'd go something like this (no particular order):

    Drive It In

    Wrong Side of the Tracks

    Down n Dirty

    Real Rock Drive

Rock n roll State of Mind

    Holy Roller

    Ain't Got It

    Prisoner of Love

    Dirty Water

    Hard Times

  2. I think the prog section is missing a thread about this Swedish prog metal group.

They made their debut in 2005 with the album Become. It didn't make that big of an impact, but their follow-up Waiting in the Wings is what put these talented Swedes on the map. They changed the singer for this one, with Tommy Karevik taking over. IMO, this is an excellent album from start to finish with great musicianship and vocals.

Then came Mercy Falls, a concept album, which I think is just as good. The prog element is more obvious than Waiting in the Wings, but the melodies and choruses are still there.

They released The Great Escape in 2010, another fine effort. That is their latest studio effort.

In 2016 they released the live album Welcome to Atlanta.

In October 2017 they informed the fans that their 5th studio album Tiara, was in the final stages of mixing, but I am not aware of a release date for this one.

    Highly recommended.

  3. I'm a massive fan of Threshold. So many good songs over the years. Mac is still my favourite singer, but both Damian and Glynn are great too.

Looks like I'm in minority here, but I was actually left a little disappointed with the Legends album. Small Dark Lines is a belter of a song and ranks top of my list 2017. But I miss more songs like it on the album. For me, there is just not enough pace on the album, if you know what I mean. Still a good album, but after hearing SDL I expected so much more.

  4. I have been craving new material from these guys quite a while. Excellent news that an album is coming. I'm echoing the opinions on the vocals. He sounds good IMO, but I'm so used to Heino that or will take some getting used to Mr Blom. But I'm sure I will as long as the songs are as strong as in the past.

  5. YES!

This is why I signed up. I would never have heard about these guys if not. Only 4 songs in but this is right up my alley. Energetic, loads of guitars, good singing and strong choruses.

Edit: Listened to the whole thing now and I really like it.  Strong songs throughout. Thanks to martinsane for this one.

  6. This is the album that opened my eyes to the more modern style of metal. Whilst Jericho can't be said to be a great singer, he certainly fits the bands sound and does a very good job on this album.

There are a lot of good songs on here and my favourites are

    Judas

    Drinking With Jesus

    Elevator

    Painless

    Capsized

  7. Hello everyone. New user as you already knew.

I'm from Sweden and grew up in the golden era of hard rock and heavy metal, the 80's.

I'm always for the lookout of great music, whether it is old bands that I have missed or great new acts. My taste is quite diverse and includes AOR, southern rock, hard rock, sleaze, glam, prog, metal like old school, power, melodic - and recently I discovered more modern metal - which I have to confess I have been quite adverse to over the years. One album changed that for me just recently and I will post in that thread when I'm done here. In short, most sub genres of this great music is my taste.

I might not be a very regular poster, but I will most definitely be a regular visitor.

Rock n roll can never die.
