Ghost Of Graceland was excellent.
Yes it was. Fabulous album.

New song 'Girl on the Moon'.
Man, talk about missing the point of a song. "Girl on the Moon" is a minimalist, haunting song. This...is not. It's not bad, it just isn't right.

I'm cautiously optimistic. First album was great, last two albums have been less-good.

In Italy because of Frontiers, right? That doesn't mean ADV is involved, yet, right? I don't need another great artist ADVed.
Given that they worked together on the Find Me album, I would almost guarantee ADV is involved with this one.

Lackluster, sounds like a leftover from that recently released dull find me album. Did Harry need a little nudge after falling asleep at the mic singing this sleep inducing drivel.
I like the recent Find Me album - and like it more with each listen - but that ABSOLUTELY sounds like a track that was cut from it.

The classic Def Leppard died with Steve Clark. Vivian Campbell neutered them.
Very average song.
Yeah, the new song is very, very average at best.

Love the melody and music with the new one but the lyrics and topic are pretty cheesy. Solid effort but not their best, IMHO.

The songs are just kinda average. Not bad, not great.

Totally agree, Deen is the best singer in this "band."
When I saw Journey not too long after Arnel joined, Deen sang, I believe, two songs during the show. "Mother, Father" and "After the Fall". He knocked both absolutely out of the park. Absolutely nailed both. Arnel was incredible that night - the whole band was - but Deen was probably the best singer on the stage.

Yeah, that's really promising. Good stuff.

Is he back in? didn't know that.
Yeah, he came back after Steve Smith & Ross Valory's failed coup.

(Very positive) review of the album:
Reviewer mentions that there's plenty of guitar work on the album which is good to hear.
Didn't catch it when the tracklist was released but this album includes a cover of Frank Stallone's "Far From Over". I love that song, it's an all-time favorite of mine, but I can't say I'm dying to hear a cover of it.
-
I like Arnel and "Revelation" was a fantastic album but I didn't like the last one. The acrimony, long time off, and chaotic lineups do not give me lots of hope.
-
I don't hate it as much as you guys but, yeah, that song is definitely not good.

House of Lords has disappointed me with their last few albums but I still am a big fan and will still pick this up. I don't really think "mystical, heavy, melodic, and intricate" when I think of the first album - that sounds more like "Sahara" - but whatever. Hopefully it really is heavy as that would be great.

Let's all celebrate this most-important line from that press release:
QuoteWith the entirety of the album written and composed by McAuley, Pilson, and Beach
No mention of ADV as a writer!

Hmm, pretty lukewarm about that but it's Treat so I'm sure there'll be better than that on the album.
Same here. This is a little softer than their last couple albums. Doesn't thrill me but I don't hate it. I'm sure the rest of the album will be better.

Haha, thanks. Stuff like this is why I love this site.

I like that. It's not top-shelf Find Me but it's good.

If you haven't heard the original versions of the songs I'd recommend giving the band's first 4 releases a listen, some really good songs in their discography. "A Matter of Attitude" and "Scratch 'N Sniff" are two of my all time favorite albums.
I will definitely do that. Thanks!

Never heard of these guys but the songs are great. Definitely will check it out.

I like that song a lot. Bring on the rest of the album!
