Received my Japanese pressing from CD Japan on Thursday ...... it's been in my CD player quite a bit. This has the potential to be in the run for Album of the Year. I have all the previous BROTHER FIRETRIBE releases on the Japanese pressings and this album is by far superior. I'll explain.....the sound here is much fuller, the production extremely full including orchestration. Their overall sounds actually drifts toward the LEVERAGE vibes this time as opposed to their previous releases. Having the same vocalist in Pekka Heino, there is a blending of elements. Also, the Japanese pressing has a total of 14 tracks, two of which are Japanese bonus. One is an acoustic track and the second is a genuine bonus. More than, just a bonus, a brilliant track worth having. My recommendation is to obtain a Japanese pressing of this CD if you are going to purchase it.......It should be worthwhile!!

    Cool.

I just wish I had your money. All you guys always buying the Japanese pressings: how do you afford it?

What he said! By the way, what is the name of the bonus track?

    I believe it's "Don't Cry for Yesterday"

As much as I enjoy the intro and 3 songs after, I really feel the album kicks off with Last Forever.

    5 - 11 are just fantastic

Phantasmagoria is an interesting song to say the least

  2. its been a great start to the year imo

my top 5 would look like this

    1 - Confess - Haunters - 90

    2 - Tokyo Motor Fist - 87

    3 - No Resolve - Unity - 85

    4 - One Desire - 85

5- You me at six - Night People -82

I've never heard of No Resolve but they remind me of the new TDG and My Darkest Days. Unity sounds good

  3.

Sorry to lay this on you guys but..............

    The poll says :

    Dun dun derrrrrr

    Defiants 12 Treat 8

    Boom

    I did see that.

    It's really depressing.

Are there really only 20 of us here?

Make that 21. Someone owes me a drink

I'll add my vote with... The Defiants

Treat album is great but prefer The Defiants

Now that I think about it, I haven't even listened to either record in a while. 2017 has been kick ass

  4. THIS. IS. FIRE.

    95%

Alex can flat out sing. The dude is fantastic. Great choice by Hans

Catchy songs with great melodies and soaring guitars

The ballad "Without You" is utterly fantastic. It's ripped right out of the 80's, lighters up. It really showcases Alex's voice and the solo by Hans is amazing

This is exactly how I like my hard/melodic rock

Disappointed it isn't on vinyl but that doesn't subtract from the quality work here

Highly recommended and a very, very nice surprise in the first half of 2017

  5. Really enjoyed their last 2 records so was excited to hear this new one

Production is fantastic. Great use of keys and guitars. This band is impressive

Lots of standouts throughout the album and enough variation to satisfy me

The 2LP has an exclusive bonus track and I'm itching to grab it but shipping from Europe is so damn expensive and Amazon is selling it for $44.99. <-- Ouch

Overall: 85% <-- Total grower album

  6.

Never heard of this band before but that sounds awesome. Everything from his vocals to the keys to the guitars.

Going to check out their previous records

    Both excellent mate...esp the debut.

Been listening to their 2nd album and it's awesome. They have such a unique sound which I dig (similar to Cats in Space).

Will check out their debut when I get a chance

Glad you like it mate....and yes i agree Cats in Space is awesome too. Very much looking forward to their second album this year :)

Hell yea, same man. NFO is hard to compare to any bands/groups but I'd have to say a mix of Queen, Scissor Sisters, and Toto. There might be a fourth band/group but I can't think of them at the moment. Pretty damn cool

With so many great titles coming out in the next few weeks, this one is slipping on my can't wait to hear it all list. 4 tracks in and I'm not overly impressed....I feel I'll need to lower the bar to really enjoy this one.

    Great pun!!

And I agree. This appears to be their weakest disc yet. I hope the rest of the songs are better.

Unfortunately, this very well could be their weakest record. The singles haven't been up to the same bar as their previous goodness.

Which sucks because their early stuff is super kick ass. I've lowered my expectations

  9.

    Rockin list bro!

    So far:

Battle Beast - Bringer of Pain: 95% (the clear vinyl is rad)

Confess - Haunters: 95% (The purple vinyl is rad)

    Tokyo Motor Fist - S/T: 90%

Place Vendome - Close to the Sun: 85% (flame shield engaged)

    Lionville - A World of Fools: 80%

    Probably some I'm forgetting

Ha ha...the rest of that Place Vendome must be flawless cos those first few songs are about 8.5% ;)

Falling Star (my top favorite on the album), Yesterday is Gone and Helen round out the album very nicely

Following the departure of singer Seann Nicols from Quiet Riot, both Frontiers Music Srl and band leader Frankie Banali have made the joint decision to delay the release of the new Quiet Riot album, “Road Rage” until later this summer.

Translated: Frontiers called Banali up and said "Frankie, you fix this f***ing mess you've made or we're gonna sue you back to the stone age."

    I bet that's exactly what happened :rofl2:

    It's only right.

Yep I agree. The only option and a good move by Frontiers

  11. Wait... wtf? James Durbin? Really? His first two solo albums after Idol were great. The last one was quite disappointing. But he is a good artist - just not sure how on earth he'll fit into QR. That's just weird. He'd be one third of the age of the other guys in the band.

But about that EP, when is that due? Is it out? And how did he get mixed up with Grossi? What's going on, lol? F*ck me his voice sounds different to those first two albums. I love the 2nd and 3rd songs from the EP, so I'd really love to hear it.

If they just let Durbin write everything, QR might still sound good again... but they won't sound a thing like QR (obviously) with him on vocals.

The EP is out now. It's on Apple Music. Have no idea how he got mixed up with Grossi.

It'll be interesting to hear the final product

  12.

According to Banali, Durbin had long been his first choice for the singer post: “When I wrote the material for Road Rage with my songwriting partner Neil Citron, James was my favorite. Because he had other commitments, I had to look for a replacement, and Seann Nichols was the third on my candidate list. Of course, I would prefer James to be heard on Road Rage – but you can only work with the people who are currently available.”

Who the hell was second on his list?

He's coming off as an ass.

He kind of sounded like an ass in the QR movie thing.

Ah I didn't see the QR movie thing.

A guy at another forum I frequent wondered if Bobby Blotzer made Seann Nichols a better offer :rofl2:

Oh boy lol. That's a whole 'nother can of ridiculous worms
