  1. "Jan 21 2006 to Dave of Sun City Records:

"Your piddly-ass $4 per disc (royalty) is a joke and will lose you a contract every time"

Well, I did some research and learned that the band Fire Dept. was offered $2.50 a disc for a Retrospect re-issue of their CD. (And they declined, by the way.)"

OK , this is moronic statement by Tony #1 - Fire Dept were offered 70% royalties for the release of Fire Dept.  The deal is still in limbo.  If anything RETROSPECT declined because Fire Dept wanted an advance.  YET AGAIN , the canadian has it wrong and always thinks he's 'in the know' , just like when he was spouting off that Sam owned a factory in Russia.  WTF?  IDIOT.

    "CONTRADICTION #2

Jan 20 2006 to Kevin of Kidd Wikkid:

"I will personally recommend to Sam that he should re-issue Kidd Wikkid with or without your permission Wikkid1"

and just a day BEFORE you said:

"To even suggest that he would bootleg Kid Wikkid's album without their knowledge is just insane."

You guys were being such pricks , as usual , that was a statement made by ME and not Sam ACTUALLY bootlegging KW's album.  So yet again you are WRONG.

    "On to CONTRADICTION #3:

Jan 19 2006 to Dan of HH:

"Defcon and the other bands are seeing a nice cut of $15-$18"

Meanwhile, back on planet earth, Defcon sells for $17.99 on Retrospect's site. How can they get $18 if the CD itself only sells for $17.99??? "

When Defcon continually sells for $25-$35 on ebay Defcon ARE seeing that kind of cut.  So yet again you are WRONG - seems like a running theme here hey dickhead?

    "CONTRADICTION #4:

    Nov 29 to Nostromo:

"If you are anal about having silver cd's then shame on you for not supporting the bands - it is always the music that counts , not the packaging."

Silver-backed CDs ARE, in most cases, the real things. Assuming the correct royalty mechanisms are in place, how can you NOT support the band by buying their silver-pressed CDs? Legitimizing green-tinted copies is giving CD burning the validity it DOESN'T deserve and it's the fastest and most effective way to NOT support the band/label/industry. "

That's YOUR opinion , NOT a contradiction dumbass.

    Man , you're batting 1000 for being just a plain jealous jerk-off.

Keep trying Tony , I'm still waiting for a contradiction , or coming from you it would be a contraDICKtion.

    Want to try again?

You seem to have a fascination with shit and dicks. I will get my 3 old to join the board and you could have some lovely conversations. He also likes to talk about farts, butts, pipi and caca. :loser:

  2. See, then everyone should now see where YOU stand Tony....right in the bullshit which is what you speak constantly.  You truly are the lowest common denominator.  I hope you're a good dad , cuz you suck at being a human.

You've had your chance , now you can go fuck yourself.

Telling someone he is a terrible human failure and questioning his abilty to be a father. That's just low. I honestly don't care enough about Retrospect or Sam to keep fighting, he has an agenda, I have mine and we are both doing fine, I think. But to lower yourself to implicating someones child in an argument is just horrible. Dan do everyone a favour, lower our blood pressure and just scrap this Retrospect no rules things. People have lost all focus and sense with this thread.

  3. so about a dozen will buy more?  wow , that'll really help Sam fork out the additional $1000 it takes for silver discs.  Let's see... $20,000 for 20 silver cd's or $20,000 for 80 test pressings?  Seems like a simple answer.  A $250 risk is easier to swallow than a $1250 risk , wouldn't you say?  Or maybe you guys just can't figure that out.

See , it doesn't really matter what 25% of 50 people on H.H. think.  It's the hundreds of others who buy from RR/VegasCds on a monthly basis who matter.  You think he's able to release over 20 cd's a month because he's LOSING money?

And if you think Sam is going to press 1,000 units of a 4-song Uzi Suite ep (for example) then you're smokin crack.

XL is an original silver cd as are a few others on the site.  Nothing 're-issued' about it.

Aren't you the one who said Retrospect is one of the biggest indie labels on the planet. If you sell 100's of cd's a week, imagine that number on silver pressed cd's.

Do me a favour, although I really don't deserve one. :P In the month of February compare the sales of the top 3 silver pressed cd's on Retrospect to that of the top 3 cd-r's sold. Let me know the result. If the silver pressings don't blow away the cd-r's, then I should shut up, I know nothing. However if the silver pressed crush the others and make the extra 1000$ spent seem like peanuts, than this poll may show some actual truths. Include the Vegascd sales as well, not only the direct label sales.

Maybe instead of releasing 20 cd's at a time, release 2 or 3 good titles and promote them like crazy. These 2 or 3 titles should be fantastic releases, no half ass crap that really sucks, because the band wrote and produced these songs, in a garage in 1991. I bet you these 2 or 3 releases will in the end, years from now continue to sell while many of the poorly made and produced cd's will be long forgotten.

When it comes to music, at least for me it's quality in every sense of the word that matters, not quantity. I have only about 300 cd's in my collection, I know pretty much every hook and lyric to those cd's, they are the precious chosen. Make Retrospect cd's part of the precious chosen, for others. Wouldn't it be better to know the cd's are listened to and enjoyed, rather than stored away because buyers paid too much to pitch in the bin. Some will buy anything and everything, but many more will buy what is truely good.

Ever think of releasing a cool compilation, silver pressed cd with original artwork, of some of the best Retrospect has to offer, at a low, low price, under 10$. This would most likely give the we are not so sure about this label people a little something to ease the worries. Not calling everyone who doesn't agree with what goes on at Retrospect a prick would also help.

  4. A lousy 4% are totally satisfied. In another HH poll a higher percentage of people believe having oral sex with somebody else is not cheating on your partner. If I was the boss of a company, I would listen to the people and make some changes. 25% would buy if silver pressed. Imagine 25% increase in sales, isn't that worth it? 37% will never buy, OUCH!!! Don't forget this the fickle and the jealous, so nevermind them. I know only 52 people voted, but do these numbers tell the truth or is it simply to be ignored?

  5. Take it down a notch?  Let's see... Tony and Zachary defend Burt's bullshit tactics and I need to take it down a notch?  WTF?

Read carefully, I'm not defending nor accusing anyone's selling practices, both are just in it for money. I make my money (which is peanuts to these two guys) by finding my stuff in crappy pawn shops and run down flea markets. Let's just say baby wipes came in handy when I'm searching for cd's.

  6. Burt is trying to make money by re-selling some bands cd's, all in the hopes of making big bucks. Vegascds who everyone knows is Sam is also using Ebay to auction cd's, many from Retrospect. Only difference Sam is doing this is to satisfy all our hopes and dreams as Rock fans. Give me a break!!! he's also doing it for the big bucks. They are both playing the same game, only difference is Sam's will drop the value of a cd by releasing it on a cheap cdr format and Burt will raise it (because bidders go nuts) through the roof, so only people with lots of cash to throw around will ever be able to own it. I personally get more excited seeing a cd go big once in awhile, rather than being listed every week and fade away into worthlessness.

  7. Best cd Def Leppard never made - What about the covers album, have they really made it or was it just a thing to try and get Andrew at Melodickrock.com in big doo doo. Seriouly is it ever coming out? It's taken so long people won't realize they are covers and think it's all new stuff. I have a good title for it "Chinese Democracy" or is that already taken?

  8. Here's James Arwine's latest eBay user name: nightshftr2nd

He won my Feel: "Against the Grain" auction.  To be fair, he did pay promptly, but seeing as how so many others have been screwed by him, I thought I'd bring his latest incarnation to everyone's attention.  Since he paid me, I'm not going to report him to eBay, but those of you who get a kick out of getting him NLARU'ed, have at it.

My work here is done. :)

He also paid me, but three weeks later did a chargeback with Paypal, claiming not having received. He has done this to countless people. Be prepared to get that e-mail from Paypal and hopefully you have a tracking number.

  9. Which is exactly what I did.  And no one on this board tipped me off to Sam's previous "dealings", and I use that term loosely, with bands and collectors in the past.  Sorry if that offends you Sam but you shouldn't have blatantly stolen other people's music for the sake of making a few bucks.  It's a small world these days.  Did you not think that the word would get out?  F'n pisses me off how people think they can screw other people and not have to deal with the consequences...

C'mon, it's a no-brainer--THE BANDS own their material, you didn't have jack shit to do with it.  They wrote it, they recorded it, they put it out to the public, etc.  You don't steal their hard work for your personal gain.  It's that simple!  And it cracks me up how indignant you get when someone catches you in the act.  YOU'RE the one in the wrong and you think you have a right to get pissed at someone because they won't let you steal from them???? Tell me how that makes sense because I'd really like to know.

All anyone has to do here is use the search function for Kidd Wikkid or whatever they're looking for and they'll get almost any info they need.....

I think I can hear a pin drop. Or is that a pin popping a baloon.

  10. I have said ONCE that a cd was being re-issued by Retrospect so please get your facts correct.

I thought it was common knowledge that a re-issue was happening - mistakes can happen , as you have just witnessed in your own statement.

So yes , I'm sure the ebay police and retrospect-detractors were only too willing to point the finger and hurry as fast as they could to email Kevin about Retrospect.

The only question now is who was first.....Stormspell , Koogles , Zachary or you??

Shall we do another poll?

I think if Kevin took a few minutes to read some of the topics he would have found out about Retrospect and its practices, all on his own. Now you had to drag me into this crap of yours, why? More name calling and accusing. No need for another poll, because you know where I'd stick it. Up your :censored::butt:

  11. Nobody wants my 2 cents but here it is...

Michael you are a cool guy most of the time but your selling/trading habits are shady at best.  From claiming to have 2 or 3 copies left of a cd to suddenly accumulating 30 is an extremely dubious way to do biz.  Not to mention the little trading ring between you , Delbert and Surrf and how you guys have this 'deal' going on.  And you know exactly what I'm talking about.

And should we mention the times you bought stuff for $5 or $10 off CDBaby and then claimed it was an extremely rare piece and hocked it for $200++??

Like I said , Michael you are a cool guy most of the time with good intentions , but don't try to smell like a rose when you just took a healthy shit.

    :)  :P  :)

Holy crap! Are you attempting to insult and be hated by every single member of the HH message board. Staryder1, may have a beef with MButt, but you seem to have one with everyone.

  12. I ain't only sticking up for Michael, although he is a great guy. It's just that it is OK to make money when selling cd's. Isn't it the American way? Canadian as well! I sell cd's to make money and to introduce new bands to music lovers. If people knew how much I pay for some cd's and then turn around and make a profit, it would make some people cringe. Lets just say Donald Trump would move away from real estate and sell cd's with the profit that can be made. :P OK maybe not.

  13. hello this is staryder1 last time i posted a comment about this person i left it up to everybody else to figure out who it was until he came on and told his side so i iwill tell you who he is from the begining it is Mr. Mike Butt aka impossible rock he currently has the 2nd Exizt cd they are know as X-izt on their  2nd release intitled Giants Of Yore starting bid at 125.00 or buy it now for 250.00 well go to heavyharmonies and look up Exizts 1st cd and at the comments section the daughter of the lead singer is selling them for 40.00 to include shipping much better deal i just bought one this is just another example how Mr. butt is trying to ripe off  collectors by charging 3xs a much minumun for a cd you can get right now i posted this to help out collectors who want a great cd and not to buy from a seller whose trying to take avantage

PS DAN (owner of HH) i did this as a service so collectors can buy more cds by spending only 40.00 instead of a minumum of 125.00

                                                                          THANK YOU,

What's with the bashing. Not everybody that  buys on Ebay reads every comment left by others on HH. Can Michael go for a shit without you leaving a comment, or are we going to hear about how much his stinks more than others. (not saying your shit stinks more Michael :P )  Was it common knowledge that the lead singers daughter was selling them for 40$, NO! You could have done like Koogles did with the Quota - Stick To Your Guns cd's, and tell everyone without bringing another seller down. Koogles told us the disc was for sale for 22$ on CD baby and didn't blast those on Ebay for selling for more than that.

If somebody wants to pay for what Michael is selling, than that is great, good for Michael. If not than look elsewhere.

  14. I ain't the best at guessing, but this newby sure fits the James Arwine pattern the id is: bmetalfan . He is new and is bidding or has bid on crap load of stuff. He is new since the 3rd of January and has already bid on 29 items. Maybe I'm jumping the gun. T-Bone, Stormspell or Michael are the true Arwine spotters, they may be able to confirm or deny. Could he have reproduced and metamorphed himself under a new Ebay identity?
