It doesn’t affect the songs per se but damn this album has some of THE worst titles. Melodic rock bands shouldn’t have track titles (actually used in the chorus) like Searching For Meaning, The Death Of Me, Mother Of Invention, Riot In My Head or Swallowed By The Machine.
Treat did the same thing with an album name I can’t comprehend Tunguska...I know about the meteor in Siberia story...also song titles like Projenitors, Creeps and Hearthmath City...yuck!
I’m old school, give me singalong titles with the words love, believe, everything, night, day or a chicks name as the title.

I’m a mega Strid fan but this track with Ronnie is my favourite track so far.
-
The build up is great....it took 2-3 spins to love it. The guitar solo is so slick! I’m loving the three tracks I’ve heard so far.

is the production great? I prefer the sound of the debut for sure. it was cleaner and you hear each instrument and the vocals.
this is more a wall of overproduced sound imo with the vocals and occasionally the guitars slightly buried and inaudible.
the songs are too long as well. anything over 5.30 for a standard melodic rock song is too long imo. I can understand a slightly more proggy approach being longer .
that said most of the songs I like....the ballad at the end is weaker.
gonna give it some more spins and see how it goes.
True...some of the songs are too long and the closing track is weak and not on my Spotify mix. I love the production and sound...but all my music is on my phone...not the greatest tool to listen to music.

I’m not understanding the semi negative vibe from many. I think it’s a solid follow up to the fantastic debut. I think in time I will regard the debut as the better release but Midnight Empire is pretty darn good. Love the production and wall of sound of both releases. The lead vocals give these guys a unique sound that you know is One Desire...sorta like Brother Firetribe and H.E.A.T

Pure ear candy. Nothing new or original but still an excellent release.

Another excellent release.

Just gave this one a quick spin on Spotify....brilliant release!

their last post on FB was only a year ago so I'd consider them still live
Now you made my morning
so you’re saying there’s still a chance?

The Magnificent is the one 1 release band I wish would release a 2nd album. It came out nearly 10 years ago...hardly considered new.

Mindfunk had 3 albums....their 2nd Dropped was a great grunge release...yes grunge and great in the same sentence. Their 3rd album was terrible a psychedelic piece of crap.

I just can’t stop staring at Strid’s Leafs jersey...I’m assuming it’s a Mats Sundin since he was the Swedish captain of the Leafs years ago.
-
The Second Wave was far and away their best release. Great release!
-
It’s ok but it sounds like music from between 1997-2002.
-
Good singer, guitarist and production but the songs just aren’t there.
-
Pretty decent covers...takes balls to try and cover Poundcake. Easy Come Easy Go sounds best to my ears. All 4 tracks are classics in my music tastes.
-
Strid can do no wrong...great covers. I hope they release those.

musically I LOVE it.
but....I am not feelin those lyrics at All
That’s because English is your first language....not so for the members of GOK. 😂

Eyes.....hmmm🤔 the band name sounds familiar.
They have to know about the fantastic JSS fronted band Eyes.
-
My two favourite releases so far this year are H.E.A.T and Night Flight Orchestra....and this sounds like a blend of both.
love the first two tracks

Fans of Threshold and Spock’s Beard will soil themselves listening to that delicious piece of prog Heaven.

The first single came out on Valentines....album drops more than 8 months later....I’m having flashbacks of Wigelius.
