I may be in the minority but this release isn’t doing anything for me. Love “Death Of Me” and “Aftershock” is solid. I’m a huge HS fan and Unity was easily their best in 15 years....but this release won’t change my world.

I was thinking that too but the more I play this the better it gets.
it's possibly the best flow they've had to an album.
And defo the best end.
I'm not sure they'll ever top AG as it was my favourite album of the last 10 years but this and STWAE are close.
You’re right about the closing track....I just checked my NFO Spotify playlist and I’ve left off two tracks from Amber and Sometimes....both the last tracks. However the closer on the debut Internal Affairs “Green Hills of Glumslov” is melodic bliss.

Aeromantic does have the best flow. But all three are superb....I also adore the debut.
If I had to introduce someone to the band I might play Amber Galactic first. -

There are some brilliant parts but also there are some parts I don't like and I'm not used to that by NFO.
1. Servants: Sounds like their last album opener but I can't remember any melodies, chorus totally destroys it for me.
2. Divinyls: I don't like the synths being so close to the vocal melody, otherwise it's fine.
3. If tonight is our only chance: Great intro and verses but I can't stand the chorus. There's no flow... I don't like the drums imitating the "if tonight is our only chance" sentence.
4. This boy's last summer: Great song, only the main riff is almost the same as in "paralyzed" on their last album.
5. Curves: My favourite yet, a little like Domino but not a copy, good chorus.
6. Transmissions: This song has magic, even though I don't like the high frequency synths in the chorus.
7. Aeromantic: Starts great but the chorus is too modern for the rest of the song and it breaks the flow somehow.
8. Golden Swansdown: Could be a perfect song for me but the chord sequence when the second half of the chorus starts ("covered") feels wrong.
9. Taurus: The songs that are written by Forslund are usually my favourites. I like it too but I can't understand why the end this song that early.
10. Carmencita Seven: Again it's the chorus that destroys it for me. I just don't get pleased by that. I don't feel like driving on a highway in the night and sing along, it's too progressive for me.
11. Sister Mercurial: Trademark NFO drum beat, maybe a little too much, it doesn't work in the calm verses. Chorus is cool, overall one of my favourites.
12. Dead of Winter: Written by Forslund, I am bought. I like this track. It's the first NFO album closer I like.
8/12 songs are good, 4/12 are really not my cup of tea. So I think the album is good but not as great as the last two albums.
I’ve never read such a positive review that is all criticism. That type of review takes the fun out of listening to music.

And in between the last two releases they drop a monster track like “Satellite” just to hold us over.
-
Other than Skyline Whispers which is easily the band’s weakest release....I keep saying these guys get better and better. Aeromantic is the best flowing release....each songs blends perfectly into the next one....it’s almost a shame to listen to the tracks in shuffle mode. Song after song I smiled and shook my head in delight in the early hours after the album was released.
H.E.A.T II was my album of the year for a week 😂
-
Aeromantic just dropped. If you’re already a fan you’re in for a treat.
-
One thing that would have improved the album is the running order of some tracks. “Rise” which is a top favourite for many should have been the opener and “Rock Your Body” which is unanimously accepted as the weakest track should have been buried in the middle somewhere.
-
My track by track score
Rock My Body - 8.5 reminds me of early Kenny era H.E.A.T....cheesy but solid
Dangerous Ground - 9 dangerous to drive to
Come Clean - 10 simply perfect!
Victory - 9 very Eclipse like
We Are Gods - 9 this one live must just slay..more Eclipse sounding
Adrenaline - 9 great track, cheesy chorus but still love it
One by One - 10 awesome track
Nothing To Say - 8 picks up by the end but kinda slows the momentum of the album...sure isn’t anywhere near as good as Follow Me from the debut.
Heaven Must Have Won An Angel - 10 this awesome track needs to be a single...killer! AOR fans will love this one.
Under The Gun - 8.5 solid....again very Eclipse like
Rise - 10 anthem perfection...still reminds me of Eclipse....no kidding Andrew scored this one 100% over MR.com....I find it to be very similar to Eclipse on many tracks.

Heaven Must Have Won An Angel
Are you fucking serious? Amazing track
just Spotify-ed the whole release....absolutely incredible. It took them 6 albums to basically attain perfection.
-
Hands down Erik is THE best vocalist on the scene right now.
Three tracks are great....the early part of the We Are Gods chorus is sketchy but the second half is epic. Sure the lyrics are cheese ...Adrenaline...Medicine or Rock Your Body but the music is near perfection.

Yes, I may have been a bit hasty about the discography, but I still think it overshadows the album.
Metropolis pt 1 to me is the track that is the most essential DT track they ever wrote.
-
It’s not even mid February and the race for album of the year is essentially over. All 4 tracks are amazing. Erik is my favourite vocalist in today’s music.
my top 5 vocalists right now, not all time are
Erik
Björn Strid from NFO / Soilwork
Todd Kearns from Toque
Paul Laine (who’s been on my top 5 for like 25 years)
Marco Saaresto from Poets Of The Fall

Stop it now! Now you're just being foolish! LOL
I wish Lillian Axe would reunite and release another Love + War type disc. Sadly, that will never ever happen.
Now we agree!

Why are you being such a dick?
Common sense is, you don’t like something you don’t come back time and time again to criticize it over and over.
I think Dokken - Back For The Attack is one of the most boring and overrated releases ever but you don’t see me continuously going to a thread about it and slamming it non stop.

Simply fantastic
-
I love all their releases.

Crosson with an s at the end means jerking off in French Canadian lingo. Funny name for me.
-
Bloody fantastic track...heavier at times. Great chorus and Pete is awesome as usual. There’s a reason that Harem Scarem is still on everybody’s radar after nearly 30 years....so consistent.

Hinder - Take It To The Limit
Therapy? - Troublegum
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Hardline - Double Eclipse
Lynch Mob - Wicked Sensation
-
Love both tracks
Reb rules!

Best bridge ever is in Warrant’s I Saw Red just before the solo.
”I’ve been hurt and I’ve been blind....”
I love a great bridge and this one is what I define as a great bridge.

The new Ozzy track Ordinary Man with Elton John and Slash is nothing short of brilliant. Another fantastic track to start 2020
Allen/Olzon - Worlds Apart
in AOR and Hard Rock
Posted
I just sorta slagged the new Harem Scarem....but this one is fantastic. A huge fan of all Allen/Lande releases and even with Jorn out and Anette Olzon in this is just as good. Fantastic Melodic Metal!
