I find it funny that Glen is slagging on JSS after he steadfastly defended him last album. Inside The Vertigo was plain awful. Many here gave it under 70% except Glen.

Now...... Glen doesn't like JSS anymore??

You have no idea how i scored that album.

Half the album i liked but the other half was weak in comparison to his usual output.

The fact is that these last 2 songs pale against 'Wrath', 'When Im Older', 'Fall To Pieces', 'Jealousy' & 'Break'....they are all really good songs imo.

But yeah also the yeahs are annoying...yeah??

Did i mention the yeahs....oh yeah i did.

Wow mate we at polar opposites I have to say.

This is a killer metal album from start to finish - soto sounds great, it retains enough melody throughout while kicking your butt to Kingdom Come. I love it.

Yeah im sure every dude on here is gonna pour over 'when im older' as its standard JSS type anthem....but theres so much more here for me.

I doubt there will be a better metal album this year....Tremonti has got his work cut out now.

Also I have to say the production is 100% kick your arse....those drums and bass wow.

2nd spin this afternoon. Killer album.

Another weird statement if you would compare this to Trapt lol. Youre serious aren't u.

I just dont get the hate.

Something like Karmas Kiss is maybe like Trapt but that is the worst song....most of the rest is miles better.

I was surprised in the cd booklet as well - hes used a ton of guitarists on this - it shows too - pretty varied throughout in terms of style etc

I dont care what anyone thinks, this is a killer album.

Just listened to this full blast in the car. Wowser. Trance nearly killed me...that is one heavy mofo song.

    And the production..100%. Top drawer.

  2. The strange thing is that AC/DC really needs a new vocalist... :D

    I think i'm in love.

As for the AC/DC question, it will be interesting to see how they handle this latest hurdle. There aren't too many bands that have had success with a third lead singer. Van Halen couldn't manage it. As long as Angus is there the soul of the band remains though. Even though i don't think it was particularly successful commercially, the Tony Martin era of Black Sabbath was definitely my favourite. I can't think off the top of my head of any bands that have had success with a third lead singer.

Thanks for the great post T-Bone.

  4. Osukaru%2B-%2BRock%2BIt%2BUp%2B-%2Bfront

Swedish guitarist Oz Osukaru has been tirelessly fighting to position his band OSUKARU at the top of the Melodic Rock / AOR field for more than seven years. The problem always was the male vocalist change from album to album, but now seems Fredrik Werner has firmly occupied the slot and "Rock It Up", Osukaru's 6th effort, it's the first featuring the same singer.

It's obvious; when you get a stable line-up for more than a year, it pays its dividends. On "Rock It Up", Osukaru sounds and feels like a real band like never before.

As happened since the last album, this new recording shows the group much more inclined to Melodic Rock than the characteristic AOR sound of Osukaru's origins. Of course, there's ever present keyboards and melodies in the classic Scandinavian tradition, but overall the style is Melodic (Hard) Rock.

Think Talisman, Takara and alike, with the personal Osukaru vibe including occasional sax here and there, string arrangements, acoustic passages, etc.

    Osukaru%2B-%2BRock%2BIt%2BUp%2B-%2Binsid

'Rock It Up' opens with a punch driven by a hard riff and showcasing how much Fredrik Werner's vocals have greatly adapted to the band. A kickin' rocker with an extremely melodic chorus.

"Driven By Love" goes for AOR in classic vein yet with a modern sound akin Pride Of Lions, then 'Multiplied' is a melodic mid-tempo, a song with a strong Heart influence.

'Rock It Up (karaoke version)' could be taken as a filler, but it's really interesting as you can check how much the band has grown and how good sounds instrumentally.

The rest of the songs are the new recordings with Fredrik Werner at the mic, some re-worked old songs, some newer.

Finally, seems Osukaru has found stability and it's ready for a major step: a full length album with new material. "Rock It Up" shows a band tight & oiled, plus strong songwriting.

Production has been improved in recent Osukaru works, and while still is not perfect, comes very close to the final goal.

Really Good Scandinavian Melodic Rock / AOR.

Nice, although I'm hoping there is better stuff on the disc :)

Hope so, that song is ok, but from the names involved I was expecting much more to be honest.

Not blowing me away but in truth its better than anything on the last Bonfire album

Yes, better than the last Bonfire album as a whole!

Agreed guys. Not great but not bad at all..... maybe a grower. And 100% better than that Bonfire disc. Easily.
