  1. I ordered the new Mr. Big dvd from NEH a couple weeks ago & have just now gotten a chance to sit down & watch it. There are 2 bad spots where the picture keeps locking up & jumping all over the place...is anybody else having similar problems? I checked the discs closely & there isn't a mark on them, so I'm assuming it's defective somehow. I've contacted NEH twice about returning the dvd for another copy & have yet to hear back from them.

  2. I'm totally digging this cd...anybody that doesn't think it kicks ass needs to have their head examined. It's got all the elements of Pull, but with a liitle more balls. Great stuff.

On a side note, I can't get the damn "making of" video to work...all I get is sound, but no pic. Anybody else having problems?

  3. Hi all,

I usually don't write long post but I thought I needed the write one tonight.

As most of you know I have a posted a new trade list here and on the Melodic Rock web page as well. Yoo may also have noticed that I'm after the Saxon album Innocence is no excuse. A french lad (I don't think he is a member here, he propably saw the post over at MR) contacted me and said he had the Innocence album and Twisted Sister Love is for suckers. I told him that I was interested in the Saxon album. I had already got the Ts album from Bob here. I had traded successfully with this guy before so thought it was nit going to be a problem.

We agreed on a trade including the Saxon album and two other cd:s I found at his web page. After a week I recieved the package from him. I was really surprised that it didn't contain the Innocence is no excuse cd. Instead it contained the Crusader album by the same artist. This is an album a didn't want. I sent him an email asking why it did'nt contain the correct Saxon cd. He said he made a misstake. He didn't have the Innocence album. He thought I was after the Crusader album all along. He told me to chose another album from his web page and keep the crusader album because of his misstake. I thought it was strange how he could have missread my post and both me and himself wrote the Innocence is no xcuse album in the email conversation at least five times.

I could not find a cd I did'nt have or want so I told him that he had to sort out a copy of the Innocence album or we should cancel the deal and send the cd:s back. Now he has not answered me in five days (he is usually quick to answer) and I'm starting to get annoyed.

Did I do the correct thing to demand him to find me a copy of the Innocence album. Does anyone else have any other advice how to sort this mess.

Oh my good what a long post, Almost the same lenth as the Bible.

Sounds like the ol' bait & switch...I had that crap pulled on me once, too. Guy claimed he had a certain cd then sent me something completely different. Never heard back from him either. What's the prick's name?

  4. After digging through all my live Cinderella cd's (ALL 5 OF THEM), I noticed that this new release coming up is just a repackaging of the "Extended Versions" release with a couple extra tracks tacked on at the end. Lame fuckers...

  5. Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the signing of Hard Rock icons CINDERELLA for the European release on the "Live at the Mohegan Sun" album on November 6th 2009.

Featuring the all original line-up of Tom Keifer (vocals, guitar), Eric Brittingham (bass), Jeff LaBar (guitar) and Fred Coury (drums), the show was recorded during the VH1 sponsored "Rock Never Stops" package tour, which Cinderella headlined, supported by Ratt, Quiet Riot and Firehouse. The concert was held in Uncasville, Connecticut on July 21, 2005 is now officially and integrally released in Europe as an appetizer to the ultimate live return of the band on the European soil, which is planned for the year 2010!

Formed in Philadelphia in 1983 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Tom Keifer and bassist Eric Brittingham, they quickly added guitarist Jeff LaBar to the line-up. With Jody Cortez completing the band on drums, Cinderella started to write and perform original material in clubs and bars in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, until Jon Bon Jovi caught one of the performances and alerted his record company, Mercury, who immediately signed the band. Cinderella's debut album "Night Songs", was released in June 1986 and went on to sell over 3 million units, sporting such singles as "Shake Me", "Nobody's Fool" and "Somebody Save Me". Fred Coury replaced Cortez prior to the release of "Night Songs" and the band has remained unchanged since.

Two years later Cinderella returned with their second album, "Long Cold Winter". The record was another huge success, selling in excess of 3 million copies with tracks like "Gypsy Road" and "Don't Know What You Got ('Til Its Gone)" becoming soon fan favourites.

Their third album, "Heartbreak Station", was released in 1990 followed by "Still Climbing" in 1994. The later two albums featured songs more influenced by Keifer's love of the blues. Cinderella disbanded in 1995 but by 1998, there was interest by promoters for Cinderella to reunite in the original lineup for a tour. Cinderella were later signed to Sony's Portrait label by famed record executive John Kalodner, however the lack of success of the label's initial releases brought the cancellation of the deal as the label folded.

Nevertheless, a faithful fan base supported the continued road work by the band, which reunited again in the summer of 2000 for a tour with Poison, followed by a second outing by the two groups in 2002 and regular live activity until 2006 which will be finally resumed during next year. Get ready for the return of Cinderella!

ANTHRAX’S METAL CLASSIC AMONG THE LIVING

DIGITALLY REMASTERED FOR THE FIRST TIME

AND EXPANDED FOR CD+DVD DELUXE EDITION

WITH BONUS TRACKS AND CONCERT FILM “OIDIVNIKUFESIN”

TWO-CD CAUGHT IN A MOSH: BBC LIVE IN CONCERT,

    WITH TWO 1987 U.K. CONCERTS,

    ALSO MAKES U.S. DEBUT

“Unmistakable riffs, mindf**k drumming and classic songs--they’ve opened too many doors to mention. Badasses.”

    — Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters

“In the pantheon of modern metal, Anthrax are certainly a cornerstone, and if one listens, one can hear their influence on any number of up-and-coming bands of the new generation.”

    — Kirk Hammett, Metallica

“Anthrax rules!...If you don’t own Among The Living, you’re f**king stupid.”

    — Comedian/metalhead Brian Posehn

Pioneering metal band Anthrax, one of the genre’s most influential, innovative and respected groups, melded the speed and fury of hardcore punk with the guitars and vocals of heavy metal to help create speed and thrash metal. Now what many consider the group’s greatest album, 1987’s Among The Living, has been expanded with bonus tracks and a concert DVD, and digitally remastered for the first time, for the CD+DVD package Among The Living (Deluxe Edition) (Island/Megaforce/UMe), released November 10, 2009.

Issued simultaneously will be the two-CD set Caught In A Mosh: BBC Live In Concert (Island/Megaforce/UMe), which brings together 1987 U.K. concerts from the Among The Living world tour recorded at Hammersmith Odeon and the Donnington Festival. Making its U.S. debut, Caught In A Mosh: BBC Live In Concert was originally released internationally in 2007.

Among The Living, originally produced by Eddie Kramer and Anthrax, was the band’s third full-length album and featured the lineup of singer Joe Belladonna, lead guitarist Dan Spitz, rhythm guitarist Scott Ian, bassist Frank Bello and drummer Charlie Benante. Building on an underground following with signature tracks such as “I Am The Law,” “Caught In A Mosh” and “Indians,” the album catapulted Anthrax to widespread recognition and earned the group’s first gold award. Among The Living also marked the height of the band’s use of horror and comic book inspirations, with the title track and album cover image based on the Stephen King novel The Stand, “A Skeleton In The Closet” on King’s novella Apt Pupil, and “I Am The Law” on the comic book character Judge Dredd.

Added for the new Among The Living (Deluxe Edition) version are previously unreleased studio outtakes of “Indians,” “One World” and “Imitation Of Life”; an instrumental of “I’m The Man”; a live-in-Dallas 1987 version of “I Am The Law”; and “Bud E Luv Bomb And Satan’s Lounge Band,” originally released as the “I Am The Law” b-side. The bonus DVD is the live-in-London concert film “OIDIVNIKUFESIN (N.F.V.),” which went gold when issued on video in 1987. “This record was done at a time when life was moving so fast for us, and I think the music reflects that pace. I really enjoyed going back into 1986/87 and found some great stuff in my vault I had forgot about. I think Anthrax fans will enjoy this remastered collection; the high end and low end is back as how it was intended to sound. Thrash metal is alive and well in Among The Living,” says drummer Charlie Benante.

Anthrax would go on to score a platinum EP and four more gold albums as well as break new ground with a fusion of rock and rap. The classic lineup reunited to tour from 2005-2006, after changes a dozen-plus years earlier. On its solo dates, Anthrax played one album in its entirety--Among The Living.
