  1. Just wondering if Pride: S/T (MHR Sweden) was ever considered as a possible "contestant" for AOTY? Didn't see it mentioned anywhere on any of the lists......Since I don't own a copy and have only heard a couple brief sound clips, I really can't form a strong opinion either way-->but the handful of posted comments in the review section indicate it's a very good album.......Jeff.

  2. This was Robert Mason's first band, right? Cool that it's being re-issued, I've got most of his other stuff.......Jeff.

Umm...I'll answer the above question--> No, Jeff, AD was an early incarnation of Silent Witness but Freddie Dodds was the frontman here.........Geez, I learn something new everyday, even when it's just myself conversing with myself. Now, back to regularly scheduled programming :banana::banana::banana: ........Jeff.

Should have added that Schmankerl Records in Germany reissued this album in 2006, so that fact undoubtedly has caused a drop in value for the original first run pressings.

  5. I like the Hungryheart album quite a bit as well (have been listening to it all week in my car stereo), but I agree with the above posters that it's nowhere near the top of the AOTY list. That spot would be occupied IMHO by "Brother Firetribe: Heart Full Of Fire." I REALLY enjoy listening to M/V, H.E.A.T., Gypsy Rose, and a bunch of other strong albums released this calendar year, but Brother Firetribe tops them all for me.......I do hope that Hungryheart continues to progress as a band and puts out an even better second album, they've definitley gained me as a fan :headbanger: .

  6. If there was an award for spending the most money/CD on e-bay, methinks he'd win it! Of course, if it's all worth it to him, that's all that really matters. Not to mention that I'd like to have a few of those high priced discs. I'd sell to him without reservation as he certainly looks to be a very serious collector.......Good luck selling your original pressing of Friction: Baby Talk, it's a fantastic slice of MHR and one of my all-time favorites.....Jeff.

  7. LOL........Just came across this tonight.......Wish I knew why customs holds some items longer than others, it's often faster shipping to Europe than to Canada for me. I'd ship priority, express, etc. but they cost alot more and buyers NEVER choose those options when I offer 'em.........Oh well, all's well that ends well I guess, I just do the best I can re: the variables that I can control......Jeff/jstoyz.

  8. Amaze Me- S/T

    Rockarma- Bring It!

    Kutless- Know That You're Alive

    Iron Maiden- Powerslave

    hows the new Kutless?

After first spin, seems a little harder than the last couple of albums--> the band claims it's more similar in style (hard rock-"ish") to their first (s/t) release. The guitars are a little more crunchy (not enough for my liking), there's pretty good variation b/t tracks, and overall it's consistent but not really groundbreaking IMO. As compared to other recent christian rock releases by Skillet, Seventh Day Slumber, Fireflight, Needtobreathe, and the like, it's a worthy addition to the genre.....Disciple is my fav. christian rock/metal band by a long way, but I harbor no regrets for purchasing this Kutless album.

  9. Let's see, I picked up:

Kidd Blue- Big Trouble (Metal Mayhem)

    Mariah- S/T (Retrospect)

Millenium- Hourglass (Jorn on vox.), Angelfire

    Worlds Apart- S/T

Blue Velvet- Out Of The Blue

    Great King Rat- S/T

Eden's Curse- S/T (Metal Mayhem)--> Blew me away on first listen, these f*ckers rock!!

    Hush- If You Smile

    D'Molls- Warped

    EZ Livin- After The Fire

    Crossroads- The Wild One, Gasolined

Dirty Rhythm- Hard As A Rock--> Sebastian Bach(ish) mixed w/Jani Lane vox. by my ear

    Aces High- Pull No Punches

    Reckless- S/T (Scandi)

    Burn- So Far So Bad

    Silent Rage- Shattered Hearts

    Bai Bang- S/T

    Dreamhunter- Bad Attitude

    Now, I'm broke again.........until next payday :lol::lol::lol::lol: .

  10. Downloading is for EMO's. (he says, with more than a hint of jealousy that you gits always get these things early)

Downloading? What's that? Me not the understand? I, uh, know some guys in the band or something. :)

And btw, downloading is for financially f*cked f*ckers. ;)

Nice review.....I've been wonderin' 'bout this one........BTW, I proudly attained "financially f*cked f*cker" staus when I began neglecting food/phone/mortgage bills so I'd have more $$ to spend on music :lol::lol: Besides, once the phone is D/C'd, those annoying creditor phone calls won't interrupt my listening pleasure anymore. And I can always move into my brother's basement...........Sorry for the digression, I'm trying to break the habit of typing the first thing that comes to mind. Helpful review though.

  11. Holy jeez what a game between the Broncos and Chargers!

The outcome will be in dispute because of the two calls that went against SD, but sure as heck was fun game to watch! Unless maybe you're a Chargers fan.

(I gotta feel for them. I know how that feels, to a degree, with the Buckeyes getting screwed last year with the Illinois "non-fumble" that wasn't reviewed and possibly/probably led to their loss to the Illini.)

I'm a diehard Bronco fan and I'll admit they were both horrible calls, but what a f#@king game.

To not only be able to score on a 4th a goal from the 10 yard line but to have the balls to go for two and then get it. Yeah the two bad calls will be talked about for a while by NFL and Charger fans. While I'm very happy with the Bronco's offense their defense sucks again. Very little pass rush and poor takling will not get them very far. Going back to last year this teams defense gives up way to many leads. To be ahead 21-3 there is no way you should let a team come back in the NFL.

Kudos to Brandon Marshall for breaking Rod Smith's team record of catches in a game.

I second each of the points above......lots to like about the offense, except Cutler's two odd implosions near the goal line, but the defense IS worrisome. Kick coverage continues to be a problem too....But beating the Chargers for first time in 2 + seasons is fuc*in' awesome, no other way to put it :lol::lol::lol:
