Though I've "arrived to the party late" in this thread, my list would include, in no particular order:
Hinder, New Device, Taking Dawn, Skillet, Anberlin, Cauterize, Fireflight, +/- Linkin Park (their more melodic songs/LPs), Orianthi. But, most of the bands discussed in this thread are pretty cool and would make my long list....Cheers, Jeff.

Worlds Apart- Clean Slate (2010)
Would be interested to hear your thoughts on that. I remember seeing this had been released at the start of the year but haven't heard a word since. Very curious.
I agree, I haven't even heard crickets chirping when trying to find any F/U reviews of that disc. So, took a chance and bought it. I own all three previous WA CDs and records #2 and #3 don't even begin to hold a candle to the debut, though I can point out 1-2 songs that are pretty decent from each album. But, I'm really hopin' this one involves the guys rediscovering their roots and writing some big hooks and melodies....Jeff.
Heard a couple of samples at CD Baby and it sounds good. Better production job than the others too. Wow, I didn't even know they had three albums. I own 'All for one' and I have a CDR of the s/t... what's the third one? When was it released?
The third record is "Day Job," released in 2001:
It's an ok melodic rock disc, I pd. much less than the above recent auction. It's good to have from a completist's POV, but not alot of redeeming value o/w IMHO and easily avoidable....Jeff.

Hey Billups is hard motherfucker, and for a long time(since Detroit)have hailed him as the most solid PG in the NBA, Dude, he's old, and not getting any younger, Im not even going to go there in an argument about the better team is ?? obviously they have the best pure scorer in the NBA in Melo! I dont think he's going to break any defensive records, but the Nuggets and the Suns are the teams I root for when the Jazz get knocked off in the playoffs! but dude D-Will is by far more exciting to watch play, Denvers got a bad ass team, and im not even going to say Utah's better then Denver, because I don't believe they are! but I also don't believe they are worse either, both teams have just not been this good, long enough for me to start any arguments either way, the could both just lay an egg and bomb! Melo could have a season ending injury, Boozer could chip a nail, anything could happen, i'll start talking shit accordingly, when the play offs are set, and I see who's playing who!!!
I agree that it'd be hard to find a higher energy player in the league than Darren Williams. He creates absolute chaos for a defense with his drives, dishes to the perimeter, and everything else that dude does incl. steals and defense. His game is all about pressure on both ends. Billups brings as much mental savvy and leadership to Denver as anything else IMO, and he hits the big shot alot of the time when needed. Melo is a great scorer, but goes to sleep on defense sometimes and has some nagging elbow/ankle injuries. Kenyon Martin was re-injured tonight, might miss some more time, and Birdman's back has taken him out of the line-up more than once this year. Those two dudes MUST be healthy for Denver down the stretch and in the line-up or the Nuggs simply won't match up inside against the likes of Dallas, Utah, and L.A.. Bottom line is Utah's been winning at similar % to Denver over last couple of months, keeping the pressure on and I don't think Denver's margin for error is going to get any bigger either b/c Utah ain't fading in the second half of the season (not as confident about OKC or Portland). Now, can either team take the Lakers in the playoffs (assuming road to championship again goes thru LA and Denver or Utah can get by PHX, Dallas, SA and any darkhorses like NO, Houston, OKC)? Tough to say......But this much is true, Denver will remain just a "very good team w/championship potential" until they take the next step and get to the Finals. And the window of opportunity is narrowing due to age of some key players and their coach's health. Utah's a little younger and, I think, has less pressure on them than Denver since no one expected the Jazz to be title contenders this year (for the most apart). You know Sloan would love one more shot at the Finals, especially since his teams in the post-Malone/Stockton era have been as much about chemistry, systems and teamwork rather than 1-2 superstars- though Williams is an elite player by anyone's standards who follows the game and Boozer has had his moments (Malone he is not). The remaining Denver vs. Utah games will be huge and anything can happen....Jeff.

Too bad he and the Jazz play in the same division as Melo, Chauncey, Birdman, Kenyon and Nene. Basically, the way I see it, the Jazz are just in a 3 way battle for second place in the division w/OKC and Portland. Not to stoke the fires anymore than necessary, but I'd take Chauncey Billups over D.Williams anytime, anywhere......Let the best team win and go Nugggggz!!!
P.S.- Just messin', Williams is an excellent player and court general.....and the Nuggets actually can't seem to shake Utah. It's gonna come down to the last week of the season IMO, in which case I still favor Denver but Utah will continue to be tough. They're (the Jazz) mentally tougher this year IMO and healthier, which always helps. And, given that Nuggets coach George Karl will miss some games for cancer treatments just makes the final quarter of the season that much more interesting. We'll see if Denver's assistant coaches, led by former Jazz great and hall of famer Adrian Dantley, are up to the task. Damn was Dantley a one man scoring machine back in the day......One final comment--> GAWD those green uniforms the Jazz break out every now and then are FUGLY. But, they did beat Phoenix last night wearing them, so maybe they bring good luck.....Later, Jeff.

My copy of their second album, "Caught In A Lie," just arrived but haven't listened yet. I liked "Fuel That Feeds The Fire," definitely potential there, but wasn't blown away. The choruses and backing vocals seemed to be lacking a bit IIRC, haven't heard it in awhile. However, I did like them enough to give their second release a go and hope it was money well spent....Jeff.

Ditto re: the other positive compliments.......Mr. Martens has been doing a very nice job serving as point man for the sale and distribution of this CD.....BTW, it really rocks! This is the type of hard rock that I'd love to see on the shelves at retail stores vs. most of the modern rock bands (some exceptions, of course). It's a bit of a pity IMO that more people, at least for right now, won't be able to enjoy this band's music.....Jeff.

Stellar track, this band looks phenomenal and includes a who's who guest list of my favorite vocalists. Now, if there was only a way to work Michael Kiske into the mix! J/K, I'm also very stoked that Frank Law from "The Pythons" is involved here as well, I've been playing their debut CD incessantly for a couple of months now. Almost a certainty that I'll be purchasing this CD, thanks for the heads up Glen....Jeff.

Noticed that a few albums by this band have been added to HH. They sound pretty good. Anyone heard 'Bravo'?
Yep, another strong album from an excellent band. I like everything they've released so far...Jeff.

Works for me.

Yeah, they do, I have their first album. Melodic hard rock/metal with excellent vocals, I heartily recommend it.That is a helluva great cover of an all-time classic, wonder if these guys have their own material too?http://www.myspace.com/crminneapolis
Check out the song 'First Sight'. It kicks serious ass.
Right on Roy, thanks for the info. bro.!

FWIW, Friction- Baby Talk, Montazh- Reach, Douglas- Mad, White Eagle- Bustin' Ass, Joker- Cool Deal, Joker- Ecstasy and Luv Junkies- S/T are among my favorites....Jeff.
Edit: Maybe The Joker CDs aren't really idies in the strictest sense, since they were released by FEMS and Polygram, same with Douglas. So, I guess maybe I'd replace those 3 with: Blue Thunder- S/T (listen to this alot), Inside Out- S/T (sensational, a top 5 disc in my humble collection), Worlds Apart- S/T (not all of the tracks are equally great, but it is very good overall), and Concrete Jungle- Wear And Tear (love this one). Are any of these "the best?" I have no idea, but I do personally listen to each of the above more often than the other indies in my collection- but still haven't picked up originals of Theatre (most collectors probably haven't either) and Jillson (Grrr, great CD that my collection is still sorely missing).

I'd never heard of this guy, but this song is fantastic IMHO. Maybe some of the European folks on this board have heard of him, or watched him perform in Eurovision 2009...Cheers, Jeff.

Hey,
I was just perusing the website for the Swedish band "Naughty Boys," who have released two stellar hard rock albums in last few years, "R U Naughty Enough (2007)" and "Destiny Calls (2009)," and discovered that their first S/T EP from 1993 is available, in its entirety, for free/legal download (192 Kb/s)--> see below link.
http://www.naughtyboys.se/mp3%20-%201993%2...ut%20Album.html
The silver pressed copies of this album have proven, IME, pretty tough to track down on e-bay or elsewhere, though I've seen it a couple of times. So this seems like a gr8 option for those who would like to sample before spending some $$$ for the original disc or who might just want a downloadable version for ipod, etc.. A cool move by the band IMO, especially since I've fervently wanted to hear this EP ever since purchasing their two recent butt-kickin' CDs.....Jeff.

New Device + Vain on the same stage???!!!! Wow, that show would rank very highly on my fantasy list of concerts I'd (almost) kill to attend, given how much I like those two bands...Reminds me, I need to go back and check out any/all updates in the "Vain- All Those Strangers" thread, would like to pick up an official silver pressed copy (I've got the semi-official CD-R with the topless lady on the cover) if it's really available......Never heard of Span, am actually gonna look them up just for kicks ....Jeff.
