  1. Staryder1--> Thanks for the great SEALED 2nd Nature- Will To Survive disc, a great trade and a classy, top notch trader. Besides that, I enjoy visiting w/James by phone from time to time about hard rock and life in general....And, James is a great source of knowledge re: which discs are worth spending the $$ on and which are overrated.

Peterpoland--> Thanks for the great MINT Lessdress- Sugarfree disc, had been after that one for quite awhile, I've always been a bit surprised that there aren't more copies floating around. Pieter shipped it out lightning fast and was great to deal with, but then his reputation has already been established here.

    Thanks gentlemen and ROCK ON!!

  2. Listening to this CD is an absolute ass-kickin' joyride--> "Now is the time, time to burn, let me hear you sing Hallej-fckin-lujah," almost offended my Christian sensibilities....That is, until I fell out of my chair watching the video for "Time To Burn," friggin' hilarious and definitely pegged the creativity meter (you don't see vids. like that everyday). A stellar premiere release, hopefully these guys stay together long enough to create another album or two in the same vein....Jeff.

  3. Lunatica is definitely a cool band IMHO........I've got all four of their albums- had to buy the first, "Atlantis," from them directly since it was released in very small quantities and really was just a compilation of demos.

Nightwish and Within Temptation are easily my two favorite symphonic metal bands and operate (along w/Epica and probably Leaves' Eyes as well) on the largest budgets by far, but other less well-known groups like Lunatica, Oratory (disbanded), Stream Of Passion, Midnattsol and many others are worth discovering if you're a fan of this genre. I love classical music (studied theory and played classical & jazz saxophone), hard rock and metal, so symphonic metal, with its progressive sequences and complex arrangements, really works for me......Jeff.

  4. Hey all,

Just wanted to let everyone know (aka those who might be interested) that the band "Barrage" is selling limited quantities of all 3 of their releases (Constant Pounding, II, In This Life) on e-bay--> seller ID = barrageorlando, and thru this link:

    http://www.barrageorlando.com/Swag.html

I just pd. $15 on e-bay for the Barrage- II disc today, auction stated that all discs are sealed originals. "Constant Pounding" (likely the best album?) has been selling for $20 apiece on e-bay (listed for $25 on the band's website) while the other two are listed for $15 apiece both places. I'm not affiliated w/the band in any way, nor do I know any of the members, just wanted to pass along the information......Cheers, Jeff.

  5. WASP- Babylon, Place Vendome- Streets Of Fire, W.E.T.- S/T, and one that's only been briefly discussed on this message board, New Device- S/T (love every track on that one, a good pick-up for those who like up tempo hard rock), are among my faves this year. Overall, gr8 job with the lists gentlemen  ; unfortunately, I can't ever seem to acquire everything that I want :(..........Jeff.

  6. Yeah there's some cool songs on this CD. You don't hear a lot about this album but if you look you can usually find a copy. Often has a high "buy it now" price on E-Bay but from time to time it pops up for much cheaper. I recently got one for 99cents

That's a phenomenal price mate :headbanger: and is exactly $23.01 less than I paid- thought I was getting a pretty good deal. The key, as is the case when searching for most indies and harder to find discs, is undoubtedly patience.

  7. I need some help on some indies I found today.

    Wretched Excess

    Jades Parlor

    Hunting Sleeve

Amsterdam- not the metal band but a southern rock band

    Rumble Dog

Does anyone know any info on these bands?

    Thanks for the help

    Sandy

PS- They will be coming to an auction near you.

Hmm, sounds like some cool finds, based soley on the titles :headbanger: .....I have been looking for Rumble Doll- S/T (EP) (1995) for quite some time, but have never heard of Rumble Dog. Hopefully, Delbert, Metalmaniac, Studboy, Staryder1, Koogles, Melodicrockoz or one of the other real knowledgable indie guys (or gals) on the board can shed some light. I'll check out your listings once you've got 'em up. Cheers, Jeff.

  8. Extremely informative thread, many thanks to all who provided helpful info.. I have now determined that I have boots of Joker, Emergency and possibly Javan.....I've become more wary over time thankfully, but this thread has armed me with some concrete guidelines to avoid getting scorched again......

Unfortunately many collectors had their money stolen buying these pieces of shit.Me too,of course. So it is good to help each other to avoid these crappy CDs in the future. The best way to thank all of us that posted here trying to tell others about bootlegs, is to inform everyone you know about the bootlegs.

Has the MIDNIGHT BLUE - TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN been booted ?? As it looks it is showing up every where . Looks like Russian boot from the sellers selling them...........

I have noticed that also, and this time have played it safe and decided to not bid/buy any of those e-bay auctions......Jeff.

  9. Holy sh*t, the guys in Joker not only had a fantastic ear for melody, but also exquisite taste in cars- or at least someone associated with the vid. production did! The star of that video for me is the coupe the dude is driving--> an extremely rare 1967 Volvo 123 GT.....I've owned and sold a few HTF Volvos, but that particular model has always been elusive, especially in North America......Mad props to whoever supplied that vehicle for the video shoot! In reality, at the time the car probably wasn't a big deal to the band members, but it's the holy grail in Volvo car collecting circles...Now, after a change of pants  , I'll have to re-watch the video and actually listen to the song!

  10. Yes... The TAX demo was 7 tracks, but they could have recorded more tunes and cut that down to 7. The High Voltage albums look to be 7" singles to me. If you look at the covers, there's the band name, a song title, and then a smaller title which is probably the B Side. For all I know, the extra 5 tracks after the first 7 could be demo's from the Inside Out recordings?

I'd have to agree re: the High Voltage albums, based on the covers.......BTW, the chorus in track 13 sounds alot more like "Reach Out For/To Heaven," rather than "Halfway Heaven." For that song, my assumption is that people have been guessing at the title for some time, but I don't think it is "Halfway Heaven."

  11. Sure, I'll upload what I have to mediafire and then provide the link to whoever wants it (I'll PM the link to you T-Bone)......T-bone has a couple additional songs, and there may be 1-2 additional differences in the tracklists of the two compilations, so maybe if someone downloads both versions, he/she might have just about everything T.A.X. ever created......Jeff.

Sorry, I misspoke, T-bone is right--> TAX produced only 7 demos, the remainder of the songs are from other sources. Obviously, I'm no friggin' expert (LOL).....Jeff.

  12. Track 1 really has me stumped because I can barely make out the gang vocals...

    Pre-Chorus

And in the southern night, the engine turns out of control

    Chorus

See if anyone can get this track title or chorus figured out

So far I came up with these titles... Track 13, 14, and 15 are a little confusing too.

Track 13 sounds newer, but it's LIVE. Possibly from a Bormann solo concert?

Tracks 14 and 15 productions sound like they came off a bad tape or LP.

Bormann had a band called High Voltage in 1983-1985 and they released 3 albums. Tracks 14 and 15 possibly came off one of them?

  15. This demo was done by the band T.A.X. which later was renamed Jaded Heart.

    T.A.X. – On The Run – 1987 BWS RECORDS

I've had this demo CDR for years and still to this day, I cannot find the track list for these songs. The version I got has 15 tracks plus 1 tune that appeared on Jaded Heart's IV (Japanese Edition) album called Under The Skies Of Africa.

I know for a fact that the original TAX demo only had 7 songs on it. Someone added other Bormann rarities to fill space and they're actually quite good. Two tracks are from his earlier band High Voltage I think... I'm not sure where the others came from, but they're also great tunes.

I can name the tunes that I know that later were rewritten for Charade and Jaded Heart songs, but there's a few that I can't title. Gang Choruses are great, but they are horrible when you can't understand what they're all screaming. I can find info on this release in many places, but there's NEVER any info on the track list.

Does anyone out there know the REAL tracklist of the original 7 tracks from TAX?

Yes, I also have a T.A.X. CD-R with tracklist (thanks to HH.com'er MStallion for the tracklist), I'll dig thru my CD-Rs and post the tracklist I have later this evening or tomorrow at the latest.....Cheers, Jeff.
