Cool list mate. Haven't heard Hit the Lights yet but suspect that will be high on my list. I thought Like a Storm was pretty good, probably will rate a bit higher for me. As for Europe I wasn't going to bother listening and now I'm sure I won't.

Heavy Harmonies gets a plug on p23. Cool looking mag, how often will it be released and how much does it cost to view online?
-
Nice looking package and only $40 pre order. Going to find out how much the digital version is first but will pick this up for sure.

How many times have they returned to L.A.? Why don't they just fucking stay there!? Seriously though what's with the soundalike album names...it's just damn confusing.
-
Lame lyrics. The song is ok.
-
As for the production - it's not necessarily a bad production job, I guess, technically. But I absolutely HATE the sound of the CD, and always have from the moment I first spun it. I don't know what it is exactly - the mix, the vibe... everything. It just sounds really bad to my ears. I just never enjoyed listening to that CD and in my mixes 'Little Fighter' and 'Living on the edge' just sound thin compared to other songs from the era.
Couldn't agree more, always hated the sound of those songs and the whole album despite some great songs. It just sounds weak.

Suitable for HHs, absolutely. I know it's not heavy but I think the scope of musical styles and genres that HHs represents is made clear on the main page and being heavy certainly is not a requirement. As for Prince and Kate Bush not being on the site...no comment from me Glad your giving Toto a try anyway, Peter, they're some pretty cool and super talented lads.
If you're not sure whether or not a particular band falls within these constraints, just ask (realistically, it's an aesthetic judgment).
Which is , I guess, fair enough.
I think a lot of us do like Kate Bush , Genesis and similar bands/artists though. Makes me feel they are floating around that boundary?
I suspect quite a few like 'Grunge' as well, but say it very quietly.
Thats fair enough. I think we all like stuff that kind of sits on the boundary a bit in terms of musical styles and genres. I remember before Bryan Adams and Richard Marx were welcomed to HHs I started an unofficial rally type of thing in the polls section - and we won! ?

Can't agree with the Bonfire patchy comment but I will say, releases today are mostly ridiculous and it's why I just play the old stuff. Can't miss there and I have a ton to choose fromI've never been a huge fan of Bonfire despite some brilliant songs. Too patchy overall. But I have to say when I compare that song to everything else I've been hearing on these forums lately it stacks up ok if not better than a lot of stuff. Man is there some pure shit coming out lately. I wouldn't put this song in that pile, IMO.
I think everything from the late 90's onwards has been patchy. Not terrible by any means, and some excellent songs among them, but plenty of dud songs in there. Still a band I will always check out but for me, the first two albums are all I really need from this mob.
I assume you mean albums two and three? 'Don't touch the light' is hardly a world beater.
Yeah, you know what I mean ? Fire Works and Point Blank. Knock Out isn't bad either.

Still haven't found the time to delve into this list.

Very sad news. We exchanged a few PMs back then and I remember clearly his regular CD collecyion updates about how many quality quantity all silver pressed CDs he had. RIP.

Planet 3
Jay Graydon
Parber & Kerstein
Greg Guidry
Bob Hallifan Jr
Go For It
Plenty of goodies already mentioned by Jez an co but these are some of my favourites. There's a song I think by Jay Graydon but also on one of the Planet 3 discs called 'Roxanne' that I just love.

Still looking for any of these. Will trade CDs for them or buy. Cheers.

Good song. Think I have that comp in my collection too.

Several years ago I thought 'Scott Cupp' was a fictional character used as a diversion during that cd bundle bungle but Scott Lee Cupp is real and seems like a thoroughly decent chap. I don't think he is responsible for anything sinister or dubious.
Ah well thats good to know. Just saw the name and memories of this came back.

Yes, why not?? Cmon guests.
-
Welcome Dennis.

Happy Birthday mate ?

Wow Glen, I thought you would be the last person to lay down a negative comment on this...you seemed so positive in the lead up to this one. Guess things can easily change though when you hear a whole album rather than just a few promotional highlights. I'm still enjoying it, definitely a few tracks that are a bit too mellow for me, but excellent production, musically these guys are very talented and some nice song writing on here as well.

Love the album. 'Tough Times Dont Last' is my pick of the bunch. Excellent song.
