  4. $18.39 CD For Sale Badlands new album scheduled to release on Monday, January 25, 2010 DUSK is a 10-track release by metal group Badlands, featuring the tracks "Healer," "Sun Red Moon," and "Fire Lasts Forever." Badlands' long lost, third and final album, Dusk isn't really an album at all, but a batch of demos recorded between 1991 and 1992 for the group's then label, Atlantic, which first rejected them, then dropped the band, already mired in personal strife since the troubled sessions for their commercially disappointing second album, Voodoo Highway. Accordingly, the tracks that would eventually surface as Dusk were circulated as bootlegs and would have likely been mostly forgotten if not for the AIDS-related death of singer Ray Gillen, in December 1993, and the subsequent rise of the worldwide web -- both of which undoubtedly helped stimulate interest in the recordings. This led, in time, to their "official" release in 1998 by the Pony Canyon label, but it hardly altered the fact that Dusk's ten tracks were mostly one-take jobs, reportedly cut by Gillen, guitarist Jake E. Lee, bassist Greg Chaisson, and drummer Jeff Martin in just six-to-eight hours. So although the musicianship was impressively solid and the sound acceptable enough, Dusk's songs lacked the usual refinements of a final album mix, and some lyrics were even ad-libbed, resulting in a rather uniform set, devoid of the characteristic variety and bombast heard on Badlands' first two albums. Instead, most cuts might accurately be described as competent blues metal (not unlike previous efforts, just duller), with rare standouts like foreboding opener "Healin'," the distinctively brash "Walking Attitude," and the notably funky "Ride the Jack," still draped under a mantle of weary resignation, reflective of the band's dispirited frame of mind at the time. Also worth mention, though are "The River" and "Lord Knows" -- two promising sketches that may, with additional studio seasoning, have been transformed into powerful, slow-burning blues rockers; as well as the Eastern-flavored "Sun Red Sun," which contained intriguing traces of Alice in Chains, then on the rise along with the entire grunge nation. But, as mentioned earlier, all of the material collected on Dusk was far too raw and undeveloped for proper mainstream consumption, making its commercial existence justifiable only as a parting treasure for avowed Badlands aficionados. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia more here.... http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=1248286

  8. Hmmm......yeah, ok......wasn't aware I'm on any "side"....... ......I was merely statin' that I enjoy John Wests' solo releases more.....which doesn't matter now that you've "ended" the story...... ......but as most know......my opinions/posts are meaningless drivel.......anywho

  10. in case you didn't listen or have'em, grab west's first 2 solo cds...and if you don't like them,PM me to give ya the money you paid and send'em to me...... with both of ya's! John Wests' first two solo releases are killer, IMHO! & if George doesn't have room for 'em.....I'll make some room for a couple more here!
  11. Well, I'll give 'em a free urine sample in exchange for gettin' to keep the ticket stub! Hell, I'll give 'em two......one before I go in & one before I exit......& they can compare 'em....if they so chose! OT: Yes, I have all of my ticket stubs.....although the ink has faded on a few over the years.
  12. Scorpions with Ulrich Roth No, I missed seein' him w/ the Scorp's by a few months, did see the Scorp's on their first US tour w/ Mathias, tho! DAMN GOOD! UFO with Schenker (Pre 1978) Yes! & just a few months later he was gone to go solo. Helluva show....one I won't forget....in many ways....more so cuz of one wicked sunburn! Led Zeppelin Nope. Rush - Pre Permanent Waves No, but how 'bout on the Permanent Waves tour itsself.....does that count for somethin'? Blackfoot Pre 1983 Yes! When they opened for the newly reformed Who way back in '80. Reo Speedwagon with Gary Richrath YES! One extremely great, memorable & vivid show, Gary Richrath was a huge part of the success of that band, & imho, was underrated by quite a lot of folks for many years until the commerical releases of the early/mid 80's material. (Molly Hatchet w/ the original members were the openin' act, too) Styx with Dennis DeYoung No, came close a couple of times. Night Ranger Pre 1988 No. Toronto (Big Ask) No. Wrabit (Big Ask) No. AC/DC with Bon Scott No. Black Sabbath with OZZY (Pre 1980) Yes! More then once, as well! First time, overall, was much better than the second. Also saw 'em a few years later w/o Ozzy, too. Survivor Pre 1988 No. Iron Maiden with Paul Dianno No. Journey with Steve Perry (Missed this one off) No. & a couple more of note....... Foreigner '78 with the original band. Double Vision tour.....exceptional & was super! 38 Special 'Wild-Eyed & Live' tour.....in a small venue that really was great for experiencin' 'em live! The place was packed, ROCKED & was phenomenal.......reminded me of a old juke joint enviroment. One of the best twin lead guitarist bands I've had the great pleasure to see & experience in person. (they also had two drummers & back-up singers, too)

  14. Have a great, joyous, safe & pleasantly memorable celebration! To a great 2010!
  15. Figments of the imagination are they not? But doesn't reality beat imagination.......? Perhaps.....but not at the box office.....unless you're talkin' 'bout moolah-wise? I wasn't,I was meaning.........? Write the next mega-hit reality show....sell it to the BBC (&/or to other networks)....become rich.....then retire to the Bahamas....& have a bevy of attendants that cater to your every need....perhaps?
  16. Bummer! I remember watchin' him on both mid-south & tcw along with the Von Erich's. This really sucks! Wrestling sure seems to be losin' quite a lot of people nowadays! Steve!
  17. Figments of the imagination are they not? But doesn't reality beat imagination.......? Perhaps.....but not at the box office.....unless you're talkin' 'bout moolah-wise?
  18. Must be dem pesky HH gremlins messin' wit ya! The message board link is always in the same location when I stop by on the main site.
  19. We have some of those here as well. Ya know them suckers don't "tumble" by so quickly when their covered with snow ......save in gale-force winds! There were moving quickly last Saturday on I-25 between here and Casper. Then again that whole route between here down to Cheyenne is nothing but horrible wind. Kinda surprisin' that's not a part of the "Visit Wyoming" tourism ads. "Come, visit Wyoming.....you'll get blown away.....by the wind" That's great stuff Jon. If only I was on the tourism board. By the way just two on the board now, myself and Dave. Well......it's back to the frozen, snow-covered tumbleweed for moi....only moi is here now.....although there are 20+ veeseetors oglin' the boards?
