  1. Don't be fooled. There is no "naked party". That's just how Geoff refers to his habit of running around the neighborhood in his socks and underwear. Of course, the underwear is on his head. (You DO NOT want to know where the sock is...)

Anyway, Mike...welcome and have fun! :)

  2. NEH Records Top 30 Sellers for April 2009

    1. Hardline - Leaving The End Open

    2. Sunstorm - House Of Dreams

    3. Alias - Never Say Never

    4. Icon - An Even More Perfect Union

    5. Impellitteri - Wicked Maiden

    6. Farcry - High Gear

Normally I'd be unhappy that we weren't higher on the list but looking at who's ahead of us, not too bad! :D

Also considering that most of your orders came through Kivel and myspace and as you said the big names up there I'd say that #6 is really good for a brand new band. :headbanger:

Brand new? I got the impression this CD was in the works for the last 17 years!

  3. Man, that's disappointing. But with regard to Jim's post and also to a vibe I get from that 2nd article, is this only a one season show? The promo here says "Each week one person will die" so one assumes that it's only one season's worth of death, mayhem and joy and then it's all over? Were there originally plans (before the poor ratings) for further episodes after the first season?

I think I originally thought 'Lost' might be a one season show... but look at that now.

I think Harper's Island was always intended to be just a one season event, which makes it better IMO. Twin Peaks was one of my favorite shows back in the day, but the way they dragged that out it just faded into a silly, unsatisfying conclusion. With Harper's Island you get the feeling that the writer's know exactly where the story is going and how to get there with maximum impact.

Does anyone else think the acting in H.I. is kind of cheesy, but in a good way?

I'm only one episode in, but yeah, definite cheese. One of the very first scenes, with the bride-to-be blowing her groom-to-be a kiss while his friends were around claiming the kiss etc. Cheese, cheese, cheese! But still an awesome show.

Yeah, I think having a one season show is a great idea. Just like so many films that don't need a sequel.

I'm surprised this isn't a little more popular. I guess people are more content with carbon copy 'CSI' and 'Law And Order' crime shows opposed to something a little spicier. :)

The public's taste in television shows always amazes me. Last year there was a show on in the States called "Fear Itself". It was a weekly, one hour show. Each episode was a self-contained mini-movie dealing with some form of fear or horror. They were mostly fun and clever. (The gore was kept to a minimum since it was on network tv.) I thought it was great. But no one watched it and now it's gone.

Hopefully, Harper's Island isn't the next "The Nine" and doesn't get canceled before it's run is over.

  4. Dodging the enemy...

Keeping up with your footie fetishes...

    Humoring Jez...

When do you find time to post?

    And post?

    And post?

And...well, you get the idea. (I'm betting you'll reach one million by lunchtime, Thursday.) :D

  5. In a moment of anger he shoved the shining metal skewer into the soft muscle like a whaler harpooning his prey. Over and over again, the gleaming utensil punctured meat and skin with an audibly wet pop, leaving rivulets of blood running over his shaking fingers. Breathing heavily, he stopped and studied his handiwork, composing himself.

"Okay," he finally shouted through the kitchen window to his wife. "The damn kabobs are done. But I am NOT making the potato salad!"

  7. Legs Diamond - S/T remaster

Legs Diamond - A Diamond Is A Hard Rock remaster

Angel - On Earth As It Is In Heaven

No collection should be without.

    Thanks!

(I'm in the process of collecting all the 70s and 80s NWOBHM, Hard Rock, and local Cleveland bands I grew up with, most of which I only have on (dashboard-melted) cassettes. So if anyone out there would like to help a brother out...:P )
