  1. I listen to Victory/Accept Herman Frank album Loyal To None. Great melodic metal IMO. I didn't expect so much but it was really good.

    Artist Bio

    Guitars: Herman Frank

    Vocals: Jiotis Parachidis

    Bass: Peter Pichl

    Drums: Stefan Kaufmann

Straight from the first league of Metal, Herman Frank from Hanover, Germany now offers his first solo record entitled “Loyal To None”.

Herman Frank, former guitarist of ACCEPT and co-founder of the internationally, highly acclaaimed bands VICTORY and MOON DOC', herewith fullfills his own dream which reflects the musical territories Frank would like to go in the future. The band is completed by Jiotis Parachidis (HUMAN FORTRESS / VICTORY, vocals), Peter Pichl (RUNNING WILD, bass) and drummer Stefan Schwarzmann (HELLOWEEN / KROKUS). Frank also in the past made himself a name as producer for bands such as ROSE TATTOO, MOLLY HATCHET, MESSIAHS KISS and SAXON.

The guitarist on “Loyal To None” undoubtfully proves that great roots can be the perfect source for outstanding metal entertainment. The songs come alone with a massive amount of power, speed and versalitility. Tracks such as „Moon II“, „7 Stars“ und „Kill The King“ are good examples for this thesis.

Composed, produced and mixed by Herman Frank himself at his studios Arena 20 between March 2008 and June 2008, „Loyal To None“ is the perfect choice for any fan of traditional Metal!

  2. hmmm , I wonder if they'll be doing a major festival in the summer here in the U.S.?

The actually play here in the Sweden this summer at Sweden Rock. It's going to be great since I think Thundersteel is their best effort so far. :guitbannana::banger:

  3. Looking forward to this one as well and I'm sure if it's anything close to the last release "Lionheart" then it'll be a good one.

    I also love the artwork.

Actually there last release was "The Inner Sanctum" which is really good IMO.....check it out!

It was really good, especially the opening track is fantastic.

  4. He's back and actually using a name we know, his new Ebay ID is gerrys-collection. Gerry of the infamous Austrian Tom & Gerry duo is back. It's the same shit he's selling that Walter Konrad and all those rareten gershten goofy names have been selling for the past few years.

I wonder why he change Ebay-Id all the time despite he had 100 % feedback this time on his old ID. Strange

  5. Even though I'd rather Kiske go back to the Helloween style Metal that made him famous, I do have to admit that the debut Place Vendome was pretty damn good AOR, and this is coming from a guy that don't listen to to much AOR.

I would also rather see Kiske i metal but He such a great singer so I'm so happy that his back in the music biz. The Keeper albums are just pure magic IMO. :banger::banger::guitbannana:

  6. I think you're kinda full of shit. Grand Funk being allowed for the kind of music they played back in the day is no different than Nickelback being in here for the kind of current rock they play today. If you don't like NB then that's your loss...but don't say stupid things...I'm one of those pussies that likes Nickelback.

Backed 100 %. If Nickelback would have done music in the eighties they would have propably played melodic hardrock for the eighties similar to most of the bands ón this site.

Now they are are playing pure melodic rock for this decade in my opinion. The most imortant thing IMO is that the band can write and perform great rock songs. And that is exactly what Nickelback are doing . A good song is always a good song.

And if they have money to pay Mutt to produce the album it's really good for them but all there albums have been greatly produced.

  7. Just a heads up for a few folks around here.

Jeff Cannata has a new album out, albeit a covers album of songs that he likes. Now I'll be the first to admit I'm not huge on this kind of project but there seems some inspired choices on there.

Judging by the comments accompanying the release it looks as though he is maybe indulging in his pre Arc Angel prioggy sound that he had with Jasper Wrath and Zoldar and Clark and which he touched on with Mysterium Magnum.

    I personally like this style.

    Anyway here's the CDBABY link

    CDBaby - Cannata

I would definitally try to get my hands on the images album. Such a great album. :guitbannana:

  8. From the Adrian Dodz MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/adriandodz

Critically acclaimed CD - Re-release with new and previously unreleased tunes.

    Category: Music

Signed with AOR-FM label to re-release the critically acclaimed Adrian Dodz CD with un-released tunes, a new tune and a few bootleg live tunes. Tentatively scheduled for a Feb.-March release. We are also working on some archived video to release also.

Sounds brilliant. Have waited for this a long tome. :banger::banana:

  9. China Sky...........S/T

    Concrete Jungle...Wear & Tear

Some of these have probably been re-released in the past but are still damn hard to find...and some have been booted of course....

These discs are damn good but so pricy so a reissue are well in place. :guitbannana:

I'm still waiting for that delayed Jaded Reign reissue as well.

Ram: release the beast is another one that needs a proper reissue.

  10. Those early Vengeance CDs were officially reissued on a limited run of 1000 except for the s/t some 6 years ago by a label named Psydonem? (mind the spelling) I believe the reason the self titled debut wasn't reissued is due to the masters being lost etc..

The reissue of each vengeance cd features a slew of previously unavailable & b side material. Top this day I rate the reissues as some of the best ever.

Pseudonym (a.k.a Transmission). They re-released a bunch of other Dutch bands as well, like Hammerhead, Bodine, and the first forays of Adrian Vandenberg on vinyl with Teaser. Transmission on the other hand was based on current acts with, for example After Forever, in their catalog. Apparently the relations between everyone went sour, and the owner split the scene. In the meantime the mechanical rights are still in ownership by Pseudonym/Transmission Records, so...

I do hope that they will be re-re-released as I have a few gaping holes in my Vengeance CD-collection (long live vinyl and cassette tapes).

A great band. I also have one hole in my collection that needs to be filled. :banger:

  11. The have recieved so much bad gossip here in Sweden. Many people say they are a copy of In Flames. This is propably because they are very young and we have a large jealousy in Sweden.

I also think the production by Jonas Kjellgren is better on this album. Have you heard of his band "Scar Symmetry". A great band in my opinion. The last album is softer than the previous but I think both are great. They are such great musicians in that band, especially the guitarists.

Yeah there's definitely an element of In Flames there, but lets face it... even In Flames are rehashing their own formula these days. And, like Soilwork, just making it more & more melodic each time. I do like Scar Symmetry (though Kjellgren just left to focus on producing albums, I believe), but their latest album is a little too melodic IMO. "Pitch Black Progress" was better. But Sonic Syndicate's "Love..." is a killer disc IMO, such amazing tunes & choruses... :banger:

Kjellgren is still working alot with Scar Symmetry. Actually the singer has left and and one has become two singers. One growling and one singing the clean stuff. I also think Pitch black progress is their best effort.

Try Fuelhead the are also quite good not that much growl and maybe a little bit melodic for my taste.
