  1. Whiplash you pointed out the feedback in which i left for Apple222, who won my auction for some cd's. I will gladly explain this. The original box was sent to him, it was then realized all the items that were included in the auction were not packaged in the original box. So a 2nd box was shipped to him. Now you can email him and ask him about the email in which i sent him, where i stated he might have been shorted some items, and if that was the case, the items he was shorted would be mailed out to him. Feedback was left a couple of days after the transaction was completed. The 2nd box was mailed on the 29th, there is no way he could have received it that fast, so I can only assume that he either has not counted all the cd's that were in the original box, or has not checked his email to know he was shorted some cd's and that the second box has been shipped.

Doesn't all this nonsense relating to boxes sound a bit like the other time Lon apparently had boxes in his possession down in Memphis?

  2. I would be flattered to have someone steal my eBay description. It means they value my opinion/feeble grasp of the English language enough to make it their own. However, using it as a means for monetary gain rubs me the wrong way... and for that reason, I can understand Dave's concern. Let's face it: we live in a society where a musician's entire life work can be downloaded for free or an opinion is just a cut-and-paste away from changing ownership. Theft is theft... whether it's a few words or a few albums. The principle is that someone is taking something that doesn't belong to them and making it their own... if quarrelling over that is petty then Dave is no more "petty" than any musician/guitarist/songwriter whose work is plagarized or copyrights infringed upon.

  3. One question I have is did this work on discs that you could actually see through the scratches if you held them up to a light or were the scratches not so bad? I have a couple I'd like to try it on (Smashed Gladys and Southgang) but those have deep scratches you can actually see light through.

Smashed Gladys is getting the ultimate re-surface soon... Wounded Bird will be re-issuing their Social Intercourse CD.

  4. Here are excerpts from an e-mail Lon sent me yesterday regarding refunds. He told me it was ok to post this on HH. I feel communication is always VERY important no matter what the dispute, but never more vital than right now.

Of course i have every intention of paying everyone, it is only right. Do i believe i am responsible to do so, in a matter of speaking no, i was not the one who took the money. But being a stand up person i am, i am doing this out of my own pocket. It is going to take some time, but it is the best i can do. As far as getting a loan, i'm not going to do that. I have already spoke with paypal and so has my lawyer, and they know exactly what is going on and that i am doing what i can. Paypal knows it was not me who cleaned out the account, as it went to a bank in memphis. All my info was changed etc, i didn't catch that till after the fact. Another fact no one knows, but it doesn't matter. People have already made up there mind and that is fine too. Everyone at HH has to point the finger somewhere and have all their conspiracy theories. So it is not a place i need to be a part of anyway.

As far as Adriano goes, i don't owe him anything but for the preorder stuff. His other cd's were mailed, so he has not been hit with anything. He will get his stuff as promised. If anyone is in danger of losing anything it is me, because he filed his claim with paypal, so now he will receive the cd's and i am sure paypal will refund his money. but Adriano is such a standup guy or so he has everyone believing.

And Georg, things are being done to get him taken care of as well. Why do you think all the others are taking so long. And your little post on who is owed and who has been refunded is totally wrong, there have been alot more refunds that no one has spoke up about.

So i am doing all i can, that is all i can do.... At least i am trying to do something about it.

  5. If I was Lon, I'd take out a bank loan and pay everyone off, then worry about repaying the loan. If that doesn't work, there are places (at least here in Canada anyway) like Citifinancial or Household Finance. They give loans out to pretty much anyone, as long as you have verified employment. The interest rates are pretty rough, but preferable to say, legal action/fraud charges/Bubba-thinks-you-look-mighty-cute-in-them-prison-issue-tighty-whities.

  6. Based on earlier posts of who ordered from Lon, here's a running list of who's owed refunds and who's received them.

You'll notice a slightly longer list in one of the two categories. And these are only the regulars on this site who have spoken up... who knows how many others around the world are owed money?

  7. Lon, sorry, but I can't believe your story.

    1. You just can't spin a long series of lies, and then expect us to suddenly believe "the truth". Credibility doesn't work that way.

    2. You were silent for far too long before coming on here with your little "I was scammed too" scenerio. Did you spend all that time constructing this elaborate alibi? Your lack of specifics (the name of this Memphis promotion company, for example) sure doesn't help your cause.

    3. Nobody as passionate as you for a Hurricane reissue would have taken the UPS box at face value without opening it. It's like directing your first movie and then never reviewing the final cut.

PS Next time you talk to the Ramirez boys, tell them a big Red Sox fan up here in Canada wants to get an autograph from their brother, Manny. ;)

  8. Let's face it... the chance of recouping any money via a Paypal refund is slim to nil. You can't get blood from a stone. What I suggest is initiating a donation page (Dan- maybe you can set something up on this site) to help out the two biggest victims of "Hurricane Lovid": Georg and Adriano

I'll personally kick in $10 each via Paypal. I know it's not much, but it might help take away the sting.

  9. I've visited Disk Heaven. It's quite a place and you're right, Frank, the staff are top notch. However, there are things involved with running an eBay business that is quite unlike running a conventional record store. I feel this seller, Tokyorockadom, either ships very infrequently or sells CDs he doesn't physically have in stock. Either way, there's a huge gulf between this seller and the many other excellent Japanese sellers who ship quickly to North America, among other many European/South American countries.
