Typical C-rate del Vecchio song. Plodding, no hooks, a riff that does nothing and a production that has no bite. It says it's 5 minutes but it feels like 10 because of how boring and uninspired it is. Fuck Frontiers for what they did to this project.

There is absolutely nothing about that song that makes me want to listen to it again.

Amazing album, as expected.

Awesome album. One of the first classics I discovered as I was getting into AOR so it'll always have a place in my heart. I think the first song I heard was "One More Chance."

I preferred this project before it went full AOR. Not that it's bad now but this album is full of beautiful synthwave anthems.

Would I be embarrassed to play this in front of someone? Yes. And that's big for me, because I don't care otherwise, unless it's christian rock... which I'm embarrassed to listen to myself, let alone in front of others.
But anyway, yes, this is cheesy and embarrassing, but goddamn if I don't find myself unable to resist the first three songs, 'The 80's' and 'Home.' I enjoy those five songs, but the rest is just too pathetic for words, lol. He really is a lyrical club to the face.
The thing I can't believe as I listen to this album is how he releases these songs as original pieces. When you say "never give up" and "dare to dream" and talk about the time of your life and never giving up on your dreams in every song you write... how can every song not just be the same as the last you recorded, let alone ones from an album 50 or so years into your career? I don't know how he does it, but good luck to him. It's dreadful, but it's fun to listen to in very, very short bursts.
Yes, the message is certainly different coming from a young artist drawing inspiration from the '80s than from someone who has been doing it since the '80s. Sometimes the game just passes you by.

Huh. I've kinda ignored these guys after the disappointing Monsters. That's not to say I'm no longer interested, I just had no idea they had new music in the works already. Hopefully they're back on track.
Opposite for me. I loved Monsters but this does nothing for me, which is a rarity for this band.

Cool, but the album artwork could be better

I don't think this is an official release, but there is an album by the name of "Out Of The Silence (Sessions)" floating around that includes some B-sides and other rare material.
If you're a Dare fan like me you probably knew about this already but I wanted to make a topic about it. It's a shame some of these songs got the cut, as good as the original album is. Take a listen if you haven't already; these are top-notch songs, even with the unpolished production.
It also makes me wonder how different the trajectory of the band would have been had they not been pressured into going in the heavier direction of Blood From Stone...

Good news for sure, but I have a sneaking suspicion it won't be up to par with the first three albums. The typical Flores production is getting a little boring and as we've seen from Frontiers, it's hard for studio projects to keep producing consistent material on an every-other-year basis without any major changes in the formula. We already heard some recycled vocal melodies and lyrical themes on Angels in Blue.
Hope I'm wrong though.

OK, I'm finally getting around to this one in earnest and it's pretty good. Not as amazing as the first couple of songs led me to believe it would be but the sound is overall very clean and tight while the songwriting is varied enough to keep it interesting. As far as Safsund projects go I would put it in between Work of Art and Lionville; not as consistently strong as the former but more exciting and fresher than the latter.
I could definitely see this album growing on me though. I do enjoy the proggy side of it, it makes things seem much less formulaic than most contemporary AOR.

Ohhhhh? What do we have here?
LaBlanc with Denader producing and Overland on backing vocals? YES PLEASE!

Some of the comments saying the intro riff was lifted from Dio's "Wild One."
I've heard more egregious but I can see where they're coming from...
Also, I cannot stress enough how poor of a fit Romero is for a melodic rock project. It's like Frontiers is just copy/pasting random musicians now and calling it a band. He should be singing heavy metal/power metal, not ultra-polished AOR. It just...sounds wrong.

I don't like many songs from this guy but this one is a classic:

How about this one? This album came out around when my area was shut down due to COVID (like, actually shut down, not the half-assed measures of today) and I had a great time walking around at night with nobody outside. Just me, my thoughts, the empty streets, and synthwave!
-
I am LOVING all the synthwave love on here! May I participate?

A Sea of Stars is classic Wolfclub - bombastic production, beautiful vocals, catchy melodies that just invoke that warm, nostalgic feeling.
Two more albums this year. These guys seem to never run out of great songs and I'm OK with that.

Incredible album, full of passion. "Dorianna" is THE summer night drive anthem for me, so majestic!
I think the production is fine btw, it maybe sounds a little dated but it's not like it doesn't do the music justice. I'd much rather leave it alone as re-recordings rarely accomplish anything other than sucker dedicated fans out of money.

Song is OK.
Video is...uh...?

Yes, one of my favorites! "Love Lies" and "Sticky Sweet" are my go-to songs on this album.
And I can see why some people don't like Voss' voice but it's so distinct and powerful. I'm a fan for sure.

lol, my thoughts have been echoed before I could even post them.
Frontiers, pleeeeeeease leave these guys alone and let them do their thing.

This is one of those songs you hear once and just know you're going to listen to it like 50 times in the next week. Achingly beautiful.
