I reckon if I did my top 10 WET songs, they'd possibly all be from the first two albums. My list of their best albums in order would be the same as the year they were released from first to last.
Glen made a really good point that was swept under the carpet much earlier on in this thread. We can all hear walls and walls and walls... and walls of Martensson. But what about Robert Säll? I can't hear him at all in this album, whereas he was very present on the first two. And I guess that's why I prefer the first two.
Okay, had to do the experiment. So it'd actually be somewhere between 13-17 in the WET discography before I'd rank a song from the new album. These are my 13 favourite songs;
1. Running From The Heartache
2. If I Fall
3. Walk Away
4. What You Want
5. The Moment
6. Learn To Live Again
7. Love Heals
8. Bad Boy
9. Shot
10. Still Believe In Love
11. Invincible
12. Still Unbroken
13. I'll Be There
Yeah, it's not a bad album, but if they were meant to do this:
I think they failed when they forgot to ask Säll for a contribution, because it definitely sounds more to me this time like Martensson than WET. That's for sure. Just listening to a few songs from my list of 13 as I type this post... wow, I'd rank the first two albums 10+ points clear of the new one. Pure, very melodic hard rock / AOR on the first two. Just Martensson by-the-numbers on album three.
Just listen to this one - the 13th song on my list - and look me in the eye and tell me there's anything anywhere near close to this on the new album - it's miles ahead, imo;
Am with Geoff on this one. This is by no means a bad album. Solid from start to finish. But songs like 'Running from the heartache', 'If I fall' and 'Walkaway'(to mention a few) are the reason why I love this band so much and sadly I don't hear songs that are as good as the aforementioned ones in their new album. As stated above by many, which I totally agree, is Erik influence on this album. I like Eclipse but this is W.E.T. - so would prefer more if they maintain their sound/style which they did right up to their second album.

Like this immensely. Bleeding, Don't let go, Feel alive, and Final call are some of the best songs I ve heard this year.

Decent tune! I know a lot of folks on this site really like them.. For me, I feel they are not quite there. They seem to have all the potential in the world and have the right elements in their songs to be tops in the genre.. but haven't quite put it all together yet.
Yep agree to some extent

Solid.

This guy Alessandro Del Vecchio is everywhere!! For me personally, his projects have been more misses than hits. But I love Issa, so hopefully this album is gonna be another cracker.
-
Yeah..Cannot wait

I grew up listening to their classics like 'Just take my heart' and 'To be with you' and played their song 'Green tinted sixties mind' at a local event when I was 16. Good old memories. May you rest in peace Pat...and thank you for giving us good music.

I thought Save the world - I wish and Crazy Lixx - Walk the wire would probably end up in ur top 5 and top 10 respectively. To each their own, but I thought these 2 songs were just outstanding and better than the some of the songs in your top 10( except Love Injection and Nothing's Like Losing You).
Nice list by the way. 8 out of my top 10 are on your list. Righteous Vendetta - Doomed and NFO - Gemini are the other two.

Yeah, another nice track.

25. Satin - Its About TimeOkay, am very late to the party. Infact I gave NFO's Amber Galactic a listen just a couple of days back after the song Gemini had blown me away. And even though am not a fan of 70s music era or anything that sounds like it but I must admit NFO is damn good. Musicianship is top-notch. Songs are very catchy. I gave this album a miss when it came out as I read in a thread that they sounded similar to Cats in Space (Mr. Heartache was the only song I liked off their debut but the rest did nothing). But to my surprise, am really enjoying this album. Gemini, Josephine, Jennie, Something Mysterious etc - so many good songs! I think this is their best release yet. And it's awesome.
I Thought Crazy Lixx's Ruff Justice would be in everyone's top 5. The album is flawless with all killer tunes.

Oh yeah, agreed. That's a monster. I probably have a big handful of songs that I'll re-rate higher than initially. I also love the tiny handful of good songs on the You Me At Six album. It's only 2-3 good songs, but they're excellent.
Cool.

Very catchy

I will have my top 10 sometime around mid-January 2018 or so, and it will be magnificent.
Make it top 25 or 30. Wanna see if I have missed out or overlooked some good ones
-
Two nice tracks. Just wish both the songs had some good upbeat drum beats.
-
Very nice track.
Agree with Geoff, 'Never Stop' is the best synthwave song this year.
-
'Red wine, regret' is fantastic. Love it.

One of my fave songs this year...
ABSOLUTELY!! ...and when the singer hits the high notes after the final chorus, that particular tune is ridiculously catchy. Gives me goosebumps.

there is no excuse for a poor production imo
Yep. My cousin brother owns a very low budget sound mixer in his tiny room. He had composed and recorded a song with the help of the mixer. And I remember being amazed at how good the quality of the sound was. And he's not even a sound engineer by profession.
Top-5 2018 (at the moment)
