The Spain v Portugal match was a belter last night.
Yup the best game so far. CR7 saved Portugal.
Just finished watching the Agentina vs Iceland game. Whts wrong with Messi?!!...missed a penalty AGAIN!! I don't know if its the massive pressure that got the better of him or simply just wasn't his day. Nevertheless, full credit to Iceland for parking the bus and holding on to it the entire game thereby making it extremely difficult for messi and his team.
Hope Messi will rediscover his magic soon that we all know of when he is in Barcelona jersey.

Probably relates to the Tunguska event in the early 1900's. (which was even referenced in the first Ghostbusters movie)
Yup!

I think my main issues with this album are -
1. Weak vocalist.
2. Overlong songs
3. Poor ballads
Yeah...never really liked the singer...and the guitar playing is also unimpressive especially the solos and riffs if I compare him to other guitarists of top melodic rock bands.

I'm quite enjoying this album. Massive sound and some good, strong songs. I see that my favourite one now has a music video. Love this chorus hook;
Something so sexy about the way he says "you got me right where you w(h)ant me."
Friend, with this song, you got me right where you want me.
This one is fantastic. Will check them out.

Nice. Where are you going in Thailand? We're heading up to a similar part of the world - up to the Phillipines, on islands around Cebu. Also heading out on the 14th.
Is the timing purposeful for you too, to escape that little bit of our shitty winter?
Cool. I hope you discover there an awesome local rock band and return home and share about them on this site.
Love 'Silly Fools'.

Yep. The 'Gravity' EP is my favourite from them, and the most rock orientated one. 'In Our Bones' is more along this real pop rock kind of route, but still a nice album.
Thanks mate.

Every time I listen to Firehouse I ask, "Why can't all drums sound like this?" ;}
For me, its Warrant's DED album. Love the drum sound on that album.

Are their albums any good?

Very nice tune.

Actually it's kinda difficult to pin point wht exactly it is but I for sure prefer the drums sound on SM and WTH. Maybe they have toned down the treble a bit also.
-
But again, I am not saying the new sound is horrendous. It's just not as good as Stereo Messiah to these ears.
-
Yeah I agree...the production job on Stereo Messiah was massive! This new album and their previous one pales in comparison. If this new sound is what they are most happy with then its very sad.

'Back to you' is a great song. Love it.

Disappointments -
Avantasia (after Lost in Space i & ii this really should have been brilliant, but was just average), GnR (I liked GnR when they were GnR), Jorn (lost the plot), Edguy ( nothing more to say - huge disappointment), Elevener (I know a few have rated this but to me just sounds like a poor mans Gregg Rolie)
Surprise of the year - The Old Schoolers!!!! Take a bow Journey, Whitesnake & Metallica - huge returns to form
I just hope 2009 is even better!
Marcello/Vestry at no.11! For me, that was the best melodic rock album of the year by a long mile. It's one of my favouritres to this day. Ya i understand musical taste differ from individual to individual but I really believe M/V should be much higher up the ladder than some of the albums in ur top 10.

Truly truly miss Frontline. I just hope this break up is not permanent and one day release a new album. I ll be the happiest person! One of the best bands ever!
-
-
Yep...nice one.
-
Not a fan of the vocals and the guitars. I find the guitar solos and riffs pretty average. Could have been better. But overall they are a good band with some really good songs on both album no.1 and 2.
'More than the moon' is melodic bliss.

It refers to 'Lucy' the oldest female remains found in Ethiopia. She was removed from her resting place, and now put on display in exhibition. So, there will be no sleep for Lucy.

England, another clear underdogs. They have a good set of young players. If they jell together and continue their fine league forms then I bet they can beat the top teams. England will be looking for a change in fortunes this time round.
