How much of their changes are down to changes in songwriting styles, rather than their playing ability? There's not much in the way of guitar hero axe-wizardry in a lot of modern rock, maybe they are just adapting with the times instead of maintaining their flamboyant styles of yesteryear.

I do tend admire Tramp for for what he's doing, he seems passionate about his music, but sometimes has a slightly embarrassed and heart-broken look in his eye which gives the impression he just wishes he was still playing in a full band for arena-sized audiences. Anyway, there's also Rock Candy remasters of White Lion's "Pride" and "Big Game" coming out in August to look forward to...

I didn't like their last album, Final Frontier... Bruce's voice just grated on me all the time. But I have really enjoyed the previous "prog"-styled albums since Brave New World. Hopefully this will be a good one...
