Same goes for your Lambo analogy. Maybe yours is real, maybe not....but if you indeed bought what you thought was a real one for $150,000 and got it home to find it was a Fiero kit car, I'd think you'd be a little pissed. The seller didn't offer the information, but you also didn't ask. Of course I'd say you were dumb for not asking, but I'd be more inclined to say the seller was a crook because he knew it wasn't real and he was hoping for an idiot to buy it that would take it for granted that it was indeed real.
Good point, T-BONE!
Look, I've offered my opinions on the recent Greek bootlegs before... I absolutely LOVE those METAL GEMS releases; the quality of the disc and artwork is fantastic. However, that being said, I knew what I was buying PRIOR to sending payment.
All I ask from ANY seller is complete honesty. Nine out of ten patrons probably don't care if a CD was recorded in New York, Moscow or Timbuktu... But that information should presented up front for the one buyer who does, regardless if your home base is Tokyo, Las Vegas, or Leningrad. (Is Leningrad still a city?)

Received today:
DAMIEN - STOP THIS WAR
This is some DAMN good stuff!

Go Figure...I finally got the cd this morning and it's still SHRINKWRAPPED and on the back it says "Not Legal For Sale Outside Of Russia"
So now all you have to do is move to Russia and everything will be okay
Actually, the transition of funds most likely occured with the acceptence in RUSSIA, even though the point of said fund transfer most likely occured within the United States.
So long as the "buyer" does not turn "seller" everything is legally binding. That being said, should the buyer decide to become a seller, the transaction will continue to be legal as long as funds are transfered to an account within Russia, regardless of the point of origin.

I didn't think my post was antagonistic whatsoever....my reply to Genr8tr was an analogy to sellers who use innaccurate descriptions and a general agreement about where those kinds of sellers sit in my book.
My reply to Koogles was merited as well...as he has spewed forth through questioning that there IS a bootlegging operation going on...and that he would then question the label's legitimacy. That's not right. If anything....Koogles is spouting off with rhetoric again....
but...you are the boss...and I'll live by your decisions, Dan....but you must be fair in your 'pruning'.....
It was easier to delete posts that referred to previous posts than to try and leave parts of posts whole. So, if you were responding to a post that got pruned, yours got pruned as well.
I think next time I'll just delete the whole thread rather than trying to leave anything intact.
-Dan
"LEAVE" anything intact... Way to follow with the theme!

"Pruning." GREAT ADJECTIVE!
Is "pruning" also the activity when you, to say, take a branch form a pear tree and afix it to peach tree and then after a while you will have a tree which will bear both peach and pears fruits?
Sorry for the off topic
The activity of removing said branch would constitute pruning. In addition, the affixing of the branch in question would be regarded as grafting.

I had Boston's phenominal debut in my car all weekend, and it still amazes me just how good that recording is!

Perris Records Rulz. I received a few CD'S from Perris records and they are a fantastic mail order site. Tom is a awesome person to deal with and Perris is fast, reliable and customer service is #1. If you are looking for the latest in Hard Rock Glam/Sleaze, Melodic Rock/Metal then check them out.
Cheerz and Beerz
Joe
I second that. Tom is a very cool dude and they ship SAME DAY payment arrives... Very refreshing as is seems many sellers get around to shipping when they're "good and ready."

Whether it's PJ, Sam, or Rocky Balboa... If you intentionally deveive someone in order to make a buck you're a worthless piece of shit in my book.
If someone is willing to pay $400.00 for an original Japanese pressing of Stryper's Soldiers Under Command, or if they'd rather pay $10.00 for a Russian bootleg that would normally sell for $60.00 because all they want is the music, it's all fine by me... Just be honest and make sure the patron is aware of EXACTLY what they're buying before you accept their money, no matter who you are!

Just received from my good friend HAWAIICYBER:
Original Japanese pressings of Led Zeppelin - IV and UFO - No Heavy Petting.

"JIZZY PEARL" may just be the coolest name ever!

I don't mind paying a "little extra" knowing I'll get a "little extra" in return. The common cliche "You get what you pay for" couldn't ring more true when dealing with CD's.
My impression of MINT and most everyone else's is not the same... MINT is "like new" in every way; hence the definition (which was originally used to describe coins, as in "JUST MINTED," or brand new!) PJ knows just how psycho I am when it comes to my collection!
That being said, I'm always willing to pay top dollar for that perfect gem that has eluded me... So long as it is in MINT condition. If all I wanted was the music I'd trade CD-R's. I collect CD's just as many collect art, coins, baseball cards, etc. I wouldn't buy a Reggie Jackson rookie card if some boy named Bobby wrote is name on the back of it before putting it in the spokes of his bike and riding around with it all summer... and I won't buy a copy of Bronx Zoo - Lustful Thinking if it looks like Bobby had his way with it, either! Not for any price.

If you're looking for something difficult to find in the 80's metal-vein, try Jim at Power Play Records. He's a great guy and his description of used items is DEAD-ON.

Leaning more towards the AOR side I'd recommend:-
John Elefante solo albums
Nouveaux ("Beginnings" album is awesome - very Def Leppard)
PFR ("Disappear" album is killer - like Nelson)
Steven Curtis Chapman
Petra (80's/early 90's albums only)
East to West (2 albums of killer westcoast - like Mr.Mister)
BRAVE - BATTLE CRIES might just be the best, if not the catchiest, Christian AOR release EVER. EVER is a very strong word, so do check it out!
-
BLAME it on the Moon - Dan Reed Network (YES, Finally worked them in!)
-
LET it GO - Def Leppard

Trading Spaces is about as much reality t.v. as I can handle. It doesn't hurt that Paige Davis is such a cutie...
Anyone else think Rachel Ray is hot???
To be honest, I wouldn't mind pouring an little E.V.O.O. on her!
-
A few of the shows are okay (Idol is fairly cool although the music itself does NOT peek my interest), but nothing compares to mid-80's HEADBANGER'S BALL! Now that was some good T.V.

Dan, I think it's time to

RUSH - All The World's A Stage
MONTROSE - Paper Money
ANGELS FROM ANGEL CITY - Beyond Salvation

DO YOU LOVE ME - KISS

I was thinking solely of an AMERICAN Band with this poll. There was just something "different" with American bands in the early days of metal compared to the rest of the world... Not necessarily better or worse, just different.
And you're right, BM, Destroyer could have easily been included!

Write-In votes count, so don't be shy Green-Party!

Damn, that's a scary feedback rating! I honestly cannot believe someone would list / sell items they didn't actually possess, or wait weeks to finally send an item they do have in stock.
I sell a few items here and there and feel horrible if it takes two days to send the product. I am of the belief if you pay via PAYPAL on a Tuesday, the item should ship Wednesday; Thursday at the VERY latest. Sometimes, as a buyer, it can be very frustrating.
Maybe some people can live with being a piece of s**t? To them I say:

Lenin and Stalin... Ah, yes, the glory days of the Soviet Union. Good times, good times!
Poor ol' Gary Powers was just out for a nice, leisurly, scenic afternoon flight when out of the blue... BANG!
Maybe we can trade the Red Oktober for Powers' U-2?
