I'm surprised you didn't rate Savin' Grace higher. Vega's attempt to conquer the other side of the Atlantic ocean.

For Our Sins on down are all really good.

  2. The band said of the song, “We wanted to release a little bit different new single than a kick-ass super fast rock song with sh*tloads of shredding. Even thou we got the screaming guitar leads and bigger than life chorus on the new single, ‘Skydiving Without a Parachute,’ we slowed the tempo down a bit and played some beautiful chords and lovely notes for you with acoustic guitar and piano. Lyrics are about how life feels when you don’t know where you’re going, what’s gonna happen next, or what you’re supposed to feel when you’re livin’ on the edge all the time. In that moment it feels like you’re skydiving without a parachute.”

  3. The more I listen to this one the more I like it!

For lack of a better term, it's not as "Radio Friendly" as CDG, but it certainly stands on it's own merits and is a damn-fine recording.

I was completely wrong being overly concerned with the "Where we are now as a band" comment.

It does sound quite a bit different from CDG while maintaining that trademark TREAT sound. CDG just had better hooks, better beefier guitars, and just better songs.

As good as GOG is, I'd still take CDG every day and twice on Sunday!

I gotta admit, I agree with you guys on that, I loved Guardians Of The Galaxy though, and truly felt it was a good flick, I refuse to see anything having to do with Spiderman, and I feel DC is just as lame, Superman, Batman, these are all titles I avoid at all costs, Im also good on Iron Man, I do enjoy Captain America as im a Falcon fan, and think Suicide Club could be alright, I wish Vertigo would do a few dark edged adaptions, but I really could take or leave the genre, unless it's something completely stunning, it is getting to all be the same old shit, and be completely boring.

Comic book geek I'm not but I see the inclusion of Black Panther thoughts?

I wish we could see more Hellboy, The Spawn styled stuff. Heck how bout Lobo?

I say it every time Ryan Reynolds I actually love, and want more of in me!

Tell us how you really feel KarpetAssFucker. :gone:

I laughed, and then thought, "Did I actually say that?" Because I'm not above saying something like that.

    Alas I did not.

    You cheeky bugger.

  6. Apparently I need to give this more listens. One complete listen and my reaction is "it's ok". Doesn't really grab me though. Maybe I was just expecting more...

Thank you. I am wondering what all the hype is about. I mean it's a pretty decent hard rock record (minus the awful Issa track) but for me, nowhere near the top releases of the year so far.

Maybe about 80% or so. I will spin a few more times and then drop my initial rating on it.

  7. Did you actually listen to the song I posted, or was that verdict just general principle based on the band name?

Straight ahead modern hard rock with pop elements. This album is more in the HH wheelhouse than anything they've previously done, in my opinion. In fact the new album has gotten absolutely SLAMMED by purist fans who are lamenting the fact that production is too lush and polished... which is actually a good thing.

    It's melodic power pop.

It's actually not too bad a song. I just like their early material a lot more.
