  1. CARRY the Cross - DeGarmo & Key
  2. Chronicles of Narnia - Lion, Witch, & Wardrobe *** Spoiler warning*** Thought I'd go to the Friday, 5pm show to avoid the crowds, but it was still mobbed. The story really gets the Lord of the Rings treatment. I would guess that three-quarters of the film's 250-million dollar budget went into the film's final hour alone. Cool closing-credits tune by Alanis Morrisette called "Wunderkind."
  3. I just came across this helpful link. Apparently "cobblers" is another word for "bollocks." I prefer "Bristols" me self. http://www.bbcamerica.com/britain/dictionary.jsp
  4. So what does "bollocks" mean? I know there was a Nirvana bootleg called Nevermind the Bollocks, so I was assuming it was a place where they performed. And how about "bugger" as in "bugger off"? I have same vague recollection of bugger being synonymous with sodomite. Here's a word I'm 100% sure of. "Sheist" = in German
  5. I've been watching a lot of BBC America--shows like 'Green Wing,' 'At Home with Braithwaites,' 'Mile High.' Can my UK friends provide me with definitions for the terms below. Some I have an idea about based on the context in which they were used. wanker, wankpot - one who plays with himself sod - poop sod off - like 'piss off' but to do so in the poopy sense bullocks - ? git - ? quid - same as a British pound?
  6. Wildwood Weed by Jim Stafford "Smokin' that wildwood flower got to be a habit, We didn't see no harm. We thought it was kind of handy, Take a trip and never leave the farm!" FYI: Telephone Man by Meri Wilson peaked at #18 in 1977. The song is a Dr. Demento favorite.
  7. The songs that get stuck in my head tend to be awful, unpleasant tunes. Goofball stuff like "Alexander's Ragtime Band." I once spent an entire night with that cycling through my brain before having to rise bright and early for a job interview.
  8. BOOM! There She Was - Scritti Politti
  9. Long Distance WINner - Buckingham Nicks
  10. Most Beautiful GIRL in the World - Prince
  11. I don't understand why would a band want to reissue their album on CD-R. They can be overwritten, they denote cheapness, plus they blur the line between legit and non-legit recordings. I'd be afraid to sell them, as they could be mistaken for pirate copies. Is silver-pressing that expensive?
  12. Enjoyed JUST FRIENDS tonight. Captures the same spirit as Something About Mary and Wedding Crashers, although less raunchy. Amy Smart is hot!!!
  13. Tonight I saw THE ICE HARVEST (strange title) starring John Cusack and Billy Bob Thorton. Funny but forgettable film with all these corrupt goings-on in a Christmas setting. Similar to REINDEER GAMES. Oh, at the start of trailers, they had an ad with new Fandango puppets. Woohoo!
