  2. A couple of weeks ago I noticed Return has released a new compilation with a live DVD (recorded in 2007) in June 2008, it's called "Best Of Both...Worlds" but it seems there's no way to order it via the internet. Has anyone get it already? Just curious. cover http://www.return.no/images/bestof...bothworlds_big.jpg
  3. FIFTH ANGEL BEGINS WORK ON FIRST ALBUM IN 20 YEARS: Press Release / Although not active for 20 years, one of Seattle's finest metal bands, Fifth Angel, has begun work toward a new studio project. Fifth Angel, formed in the mid-1980s, released two studio records, Fifth Angel (1986) and Time Will Tell (1989) to critical acclaim, building a rabid underground fan following. The band's song "Midnight Love" was the featured theme song of radio personality Howard Stern's TV show in the early 1990s. The following is an official statement from the band on its status: "After 20 years, the musical wheels have started turning in the Fifth Angel world. Last fall, Ed Archer (rhythm guitar) felt the time was right to open up and get out the songs popping into his head and slowly began talking to the other members of Fifth Angel about working on some material. Now in 2009, that work has commenced, with Ed having completed demos for four songs, with another 15-20 ideas being worked on for future demos. John Macko (bass) and Kendall Bechtel (lead guitar) are also doing work with writing and recording demos. The road to this point was a long one. We disbanded in 1990 after not receiving support from the industry. Promises weren't kept and the change in musical landscape from metal to grunge had the same impact on Fifth Angel as it did with most bands of the period. While fans didn't forget about Fifth Angel, the business side of music did. We all went on to other careers or other bands, perhaps not content, but proud of what we achieved. However, with technology today allowing for remote recording, the Internet, etc., the world is a smaller place and the time is right for us to reconnect with our music and see where it leads. At present, the plan isn't for Fifth Angel to be a areer band,?but we're all dedicated to working on songs, and working toward the possibility of getting an album out there, and perhaps playing a few shows in different areas of the globe for all those fans that were denied that so many years ago. Our lineup, as it sits now, remains the one on the Time Will Tell album: Ted Pilot on vocals, Ed Archer on rhythm guitar, John Macko on bass, and Kendall Bechtel on lead guitar. We have a drummer or two in mind to complete the lineup, and when the time is right, will announce who will fill that role in Fifth Angel. For now, just know that the entire band appreciates every fan out there that has said such complimentary things about our music over the past 20 years. We've seen the comments on Amazon.com and YouTube, read the e-mails sent to FifthAngel.net and observed all the discussion on message boards on the Internet. We know bands say this all the time, but we truly are humbled by your enthusiasm for our music, particularly after being disbanded for so long. It means a lot to us. Hopefully, schedules permitting, we'll have some new music for everyone in the next year. - Ted, Ed, John, and Kendall (Fifth Angel)." http://www.melodicrock.com/

From the label comes this update: "As time has gone on, Suncity Records has grown in stature, allowing us to attract bigger and better acts. It's been about 2-3 years of on and off negotiations with the Jet Red boys and finally we have got them digging through the old studios, where these tracks were originally recorded. We stuck in there and we wound up hunting down the original masters and let me tell ya, they sound amazing!! Most rockers will know Jet Red for their self-titled debut album released on Relativity/Sony Records in 1989. The debut offered some catchy and tasty tunes, but paper-thin production values prevented the band from major success. So, like any proud band when backed into a corner and up against a wall, Jet Red rebounded and came out swinging with their very own, self-produced second album titled Flight Plan. In the time between albums, Jet Red's brand of AOR/Hard Rock became quite unfashionable and therefore Relativity/Sony dropped the band resulting in Flight Plan being shelved for all this time. Flight Plan will include the full 11 tracks that were to be the second album plus 3 bonus tracks that Marty did with the band right at the start PLUS this package will include a bonus DVD of a killer live show that the boys did in San Jose in the early 90's. All that for the same price of US$18.00! Here is your chance to get a sneak peek of what Flight Plan is all about, featured here is the stunning track "I Surrender" taken from the soon be released Flight Plan. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Jet Red - I Surrender. http://www.melodicrock.com/

  17. sample download: http://www.frontiers.it/Default.aspx?tabid=85&pl=G cover : NEW GREAT WHITE MUSIC RISING IN MARCH: Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the European release of Great White brand new studio album Rising on March 13. Since reuniting in January 2007 to perform at a benefit concert, Great White has moved forward releasing their comeback album Back to the Rhythm to commemorate their 25th anniversary. Hailed by critics and fans as a return to the heydays of the band, Great White performed live on a world tour that ended in early 2008, after a successful string of 14 dates all over Europe. Long time members Jack Russell (vocals), Mark Kendall (lead guitar), Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards) with new bassist Scott Snyder (ex-Ramos) have spent the last few months in the studio writing and recording new songs. I think had we done this record back in the day it would hold up to anything we've ever done and also fit perfectly says guitar player Mark Kendall. When we make music with Jack singing and me playing guitar along with Michael Lardie, it's going to sound like Great White no matter what era. The new album for me was extension of the affection we have for playing music together says Michael Lardie, I believe the songs are a bit more introspective true to life experience for us, not all the songs were written as we went into the studio, so I feel there is a freshness to the tracks as a result According to singer Jack Russell, The band is in great shape and everyone is excited about the new year. We can't wait to tour and play some of the new music live. Our new bass player Scott is a great guy who can really play. The stuff he wrote to our new music is awesome! Just like the previous album, "Rising", was mixed, produced, and engineered by Michael Lardie. The new cd rocks from start to finish and shows the band's maturity in writing amazing Rock anthems, killer Blues numbers, melodic mid-tempos and heartfelt ballads. Rising track listing includes: Situation; All Or Nothin'; I Don't Mind; Shine; Loveless; Is It Enough; Last Chance; Danger Zone; Down On The Level; Only You Can Do; My Sanctuary; Let's Spend the Night Together (European bonus track). http://www.melodicrock.com/
