  2. Singer Michael Jackson 'is dead'

Pop star Michael Jackson has died in Los Angeles, aged 50, reports say.

Paramedics were called to the singer's home around midday local time on Thursday after he stopped breathing and suffered a suspected cardiac arrest.

He was rushed by ambulance to a local medical centre, but his death was announced shortly afterwards.

The star, who had a history of health problems, had been due to begin a series of comeback concerts in the UK on 13 July.

He had a history of health problems and had not completed a concert tour in 12 years.

A spokeswoman for The Outside Organisation, who are organising the publicity for Jackson's UK concerts, said she had no comment at this time.

US media reports said paramedics were called to the singer's house in Bel Air at midday.

They performed CPR on Jackson and rushed him to the UCLA medical centre.

Crowds have begun to gather outside the facility, whose emergency centre has been roped off by police.

Jackson began his career as a child in family group The Jackson 5.

He then went on to achieve global fame as a solo artist with smash hits such as "Thriller" and "Bad".

But the singer has been dogged by controversy and money trouble in recent years, becoming a virtual recluse.

He had three children, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II.

Vocalist Ron Keel of the reactivated '80s hard rock band KEEL has issued the following update:

"We are gathered in North Hollywood to begin sessions for the new KEEL album tomorrow morning. To say the least, we're fired up and really excited about this new project.

"Shortly after announcing the KEEL reunion last November, we made the decision to include a new album release in our plans. At the time we had no new songs, and discussed the possibility of coming up with a few new tunes and re-recording some of our favorite KEEL compositions. Almost immediately, new songs started to come to life through our collaborative efforts and we ended up with an entire album's worth of new material that we are confident will fulfill our musical passions while giving our fans — and a whole new generation of KEELaholics — a collection of songs that we can all enjoy.

"While we are re-visiting a couple of timeless classics to include as bonus tracks on the new album and the 25th anniversary edition of 'The Right To Rock', we are tracking 12 brand-newKEEL songs guaranteed to satisfy your rock n roll hunger.

"Entitled 'Streets Of Rock 'N' Roll', the album will be co-produced and mixed by ace producer/engineer Pat Regan (RITCHIE BLACKMORE, WARRANT, BILLY SHEEHAN, ETC.). My vocals will be engineered, recorded, and produced by Paul Shortino [ROUGH CUTT, QUIET RIOT]. We'll be posting updates from the sessions as often as time permits, and plan to offer a free download of a brand new KEEL song later this summer.

"We promise the musical direction of this album is this: straight-ahead classic hard rock anthems — strong, powerful, guitar-driven rock meant to capture the spirit of our genre, the excitement of our reunion, and our love for our music and our audience.

"We look forward to sharing this music with you, and we thank our fans, friends, families and everyone on our staff and crew for the inspiration to make this the greatest KEEL album of all time."

"Streets Of Rock 'N' Roll" track listing:

    01. Hit The Ground Running

    02. Come Hell Or High Water

    03. Streets Of Rock N Roll

    04. Push & Pull

    05. Brothers In Blood

    06. Hold Steady

    07. Live

    08. Does Anybody Believe

    09. No More Lonely Nights

    10. The Devil May Care

    11. Lookin' For A Good Time

    12. Gimme That

KEEL recently inked a deal with the Maryland-based label Chavis Records.

With the high volume of requests for the band to reunite, the members — Ron Keel, guitarists Marc Ferrari and Bryan Jay, drummer Dwain Miller along with Geno Arce (Ron's longtime bassist) — felt the time is right to deliver the show fans everywhere have been demanding: a KEEL reunion.

"It would not have been right without these guys," said Ron Keel.

The KEEL debut reunion concert took place in Hollywood on January 31. The location for this historic event was Club Vodka at The Knitting Factory. Watch fan-filmed video footage from the show below.

In 1985, KEEL's "The Right To Rock" became the fastest-selling debut in A&M Records' history and the band was proclaimed the "Best New Band" by Metal Edge and Circus magazines. The album's title track was a hit on radio and MTV and remains a staple on VH1 Classic, in addition to the group’s subsequent hits "Tears Of Fire", "Because The Night", "Somebody's Waiting" and "Rock & Roll Outlaw". The group developed a reputation as one of the genre's most entertaining live acts, opening for heavyweights like BON JOVI, AEROSMITH and VAN HALEN, among many others.

anyone know where does this song originally come from? What's that language?

Dude, this one comes from the german band DARK SKY. You can find the song on their 2000 release "Believe It". Didn't know why they record this song in malaysian language ;)

I think the Dark Sky one is a cover, because I found it was sung by Unwanted in 1986, but I'm not sure if they are the original or not, you can watch the video below

btw, I got an Asian version of Dark Sky's "Believe It" last month which is released in 1998 with a different cover!

  9. ELECTRIC BOYS: 'Best-Of' Collection Due This Month - May 1, 2009

Reunited Swedish rockers ELECTRIC BOYS have inked a deal with Spinefarm Records. A 20-track "best-of" collection, titled "Now Dig This!", will be released on May 25. It features songs from the band's three studio albums, including "Psychedelic Eyes", "Mary In The Mystery World", "Groovus Maximus", "The Groover", "Rags To Riches", "Captain Of My Soul" plus a 2009 remix of "All Lips N' Hips", along of course with the original version, a longstanding staple of rock clubs around the world.

Formed IN 1988, ELECTRIC BOYS achieved recognition around the known rock'n'roll world with signature hit single "All Lips N' Hips" plus a series of albums that tapped into the very essence of long-haired, leather-trousered, late-night cool.

Touring alongside bands such as THUNDER and MR. BIG, and drinking from the same well as rock legends like AEROSMITH, the band offered an alternative to the late '80s hair-metal scene, fusing hard rock and heavy funk to create an instantly recognizable style ("Groovus Maximus") built riff by riff on the sturdiest possible foundations, unswervingly provided by drummer Niklas Sigevall.

Lauded by the media, feted by the industry, respected by the top producers of the day (including Bob Rock) and supported by a genuinely international fanbase, the ELECTRIC BOYS — led into action by flamboyant frontman Conny Bloom, who has continued to play and record both under his own name and with SILVER GINGER 5 and HANOI ROCKS, as well as appearing in TV ads for Jameson Whiskey — consistently showed that the great rock'n'roll dream was available in many colours, and that the sitar did indeed have a serious part to play!

The original ELECTRIC BOYS lineup — Franco Santunione (guitars) and Andy Christell (bass), plus the aforementioned Sigevall and vocalist/guitarist Bloom — will head out on the road this summer, with U.K. dates confirmed for July. These are as follows:

Jul. 09 - London, UK - Underworld (headlining show)

    Jul. 10 - Wolverhampton, UK - Civic Hall (w/THUNDER)

Jul. 11 - London, UK - Hammersmith Apollo (w/ THUNDER)

"My Private Hell" was written, performed and produced in Sweden with Chris Laney and Anders Ringman (a.k.a. Platform; CRASHDIET, EUROPE, CANDLEMASS) and was mixed at Polar Studios (ABBA) in Stockholm during 2008.

    "My Private Hell" track listing:

    02. Don't Say It's Over

    03. Something Good Something Bad

    04. Still Crazy

    05. Little Sistah

    06. My Private Hell

    07. Kiss Of Death

    08. I Don't Wanna Walk Away

    09. Dancin' With Danger

    10. Kikk It Down

All the songs were written by Jaimz with Laney and Ringman except for "Don't Say It's Over", which was wriiten by Laney with Ryan Roxie (ALICE COOPER, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT).

A version of "Amazing" was recently featured on Classic Rock magazine's covermount CD.

Steevi was a member of TIGERTAILZ for the band's 1987 debut album, "Young & Crazy".
