CASANOVA: Debut Album Reissue To Include Seven Bonus Tracks - Mar. 11, 2010

Tribunal Records has set an April 13 release date for the reissue of the 1990 self-titled debut album from the German hard rock band CASANOVA.

Though CASANOVA may not have become a household name in the '90s hard rock scene, it wasn't for a lack of great songs and drive to succeed.

CASANOVA's roots began in such classic and esteemed German hard rock/heavy metal bands such as MAD MAX and WARLOCK.

Formed in 1990 when WARLOCK super-producer Henry Staroste brought Michael Voss and Michael Eurich together, CASANOVA's debut album eventually sold 170,000 copies.

"Casanova" has been out of print for years and was never actually released in the United States until now. With supplies diminishing over the years, the price of obtaining an original copy of "Casanova" has skyrocketed to prices exceeding the $100 mark. So with it being the band's 20th anniversary, Tribunal has decided to present a new deluxe edition of the album which includes not only remastered audio, but seven bonus tracks.

    Points of interest:

    * Features former members of WARLOCK and MAD MAX

    * Contains 7 bonus tracks (five of which were never available outside Japan)

    * Out of print for years/original version highly collectible

    * Never released in the U.S. before now

    * Limited edition of 1000 (CD only)

    * Band celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2010

    * First time all original 14 recorded album tracks compiled together

    * All tracks remastered in 2010 by Jamie King

    220 VOLT's 'Heavy Christmas' Revisited - Dec. 14, 2009

Swedish heavy metal band 220 VOLT has issued the following update:

"25 years ago we were approached with the idea to record a Christmas song. We were already set in the studio for the 'Mind Over Muscle' sessions and a song was written in record time — 'Heavy Christmas'. It was primarily regarded as a publicity stunt but the single soon found its way to radio stations around the world and a proper release was launched including a 'Heavy Christmas Tour'.

"Through the years we've been asked to make the single available, but due to legal issues this has not been possible… until now. As the song was approaching a 25-year anniversary, we all agreed to re-record it. It was now or never! While at it we decided to include a few additional songs in order to provide something special for our hardcore fans.

"'Heavy Christmas' has been altered slightly. 'Firefall', the classic album and live concert opener from the 'Power Games' album, 'In the End' and 'Electric Messengers' from the 'Mind Over Muscle' album ('Electric Messengers' compilation album in the U.S.) were re-recorded true to the originals… sort of...

    "The re-recording sessions feature:

    Mats Karlsson - Lead Guitar

    Thomas Drevin - Lead Guitar

    Joakim Lundholm - Vocals

    Mike "Larsson" Krusenberg - Bass

Björn Höglund - Drums and Percussion

"It will be sold through Audiodog. They're able to ship anywhere in the world through their webshop. The EP is also being released digitally and is right now being uploaded to lots of stores around the world. Try iTunes, Amazon, CDON.com. etc within the next few days and you will find it!! If you're shopping at CDON.com, remember to go to 'on demand' section which is where they have their downloads. The album is already out there and at several other European sites. It's also at Napster!"

  5. Um, the artwork on the website is for this rare/rockin' solo release.....

    http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glam...Name=White+Lady

However, this release is an instrumental & I'm unable to read Japanese(?) on the webpage. (perhaps Dave can help here...he's very affluent with Japanese ;)) So.....I couldn't listen to any of the sound clips. Good luck! :drink:

"White Lady" is one of my favorite instrumental albums all the time, if you like guitar virtuoso don't miss it!

you can hear all the music via myspace, the live tracks were taken from Angi Schiliro's second album "White Lady II"

  6. It's all ACES HIGH, from their debut album. The first two are "Remember" and "Eternally". Think the third song is "Ten N' Out", and the final one is "Piece of the Action" - all from the same album. Not completely sure about these last two as I don't remember the songs that well, but I sure know those first two - killer songs, great harmonies. "Remember" is one of the best MHR ballads ever. A stunning, hugely underrated album IMHO.

    This is the album:-

sorry I didn't notice someone has replied the topic until now... thank you TIM (2) and it's all Aces High!:tumbsup:

The song "Into The Light" is now available for streaming at the band's MySpace page.

The limited-edition digibook version of "Strings To A Web" will include a high-quality DVD including 15 live clips. The main portion of the DVD will consist of the "best-of" show RAGE played at the Wacken Open Air festival in 2009, including guest appearances by Hansi Kürsch (BLIND GUARDIAN), Schmier (DESTRUCTION) and Jen Majura (BLACK THUNDER LADIES).

The track listing for the DVD is as follows:

In addition there will be four more live clips:

    12. Set This World On Fire (Live at the "Masters of Rock 2009")

    13. All I Want (Live at the "Masters of Rock 2009")

    14. Carved In Stone (Live in Sofia 2009)

    15. Never Give Up (Rage Race Special)

"I am really proud of the album, we hardly ever sounded more inspired and it is an absolute highlight in our career," says bassist/vocalist Peavy Wagner. Drummer André Hilgers adds, "This albums show all the different faces and characters and I call it the most enormous and multifarious record I ever recorded."

"Strings To A Web" includes melodic and anthemic tracks such as "Into The Light" and "The Beggar's Last Dime", as well as powerful thrashers like "Purified" and "Tomorrow Never Comes". But the heart of the record comes in the shape of the 16-minute masterpiece "Empty Hollow", a progressive fairytale that unites everything RAGE is about.

"You can compare 'Empty Hollow' to our 'Lingua Mortis Suite' from the 'Speak Of The Dead' record," says guitarist Victor Smolski. "This song was recorded with an orchestra and is divided into five parts.

"As a band we have discovered a lot of new possibilities and elements, even in Peavy's vocals, my way of playing guitar or the arrangements in André's drumming."
